DANA CRASH UPDATE: Black Box Retrieved, Rescue Efforts Continue in Darkness

11:45 PM

Reports from the scene of the Dana aircraft crash has it that the Flight Data recorder (popularly referred to as the black box) has been recovered. The black box is an electronic device which records all instructions sent to any electronic system on an aircraft. It is very important for accident investigation and so is carefully engineered and constructed to withstand the force of a high speed impact and the heat of an intense fire in the event of a crash.
Meanwhile, rescue efforts continue (10pm) at the Iju-Agege area where the plane crash occurred, even in the cover of darkness and in the absence of electricity.
