DANA CRASH UPDATE: General Tahir Umar is alive

  The Nigerian Defence Headquarters has refuted reports that one of its senior officer, Major General Tahir Umar was involved in the Dana Air crash that claimed 153 lives on Sunday. The defence headquarters in a statement confirmed that the officer is hale and hearty.
  Director of Defence Information, Colonel Mohammed Yerima said, in a press statement explained that “the General did purchase the ticket for the ill-fated flight but as fate would it, he could not make it to the flight or the trip.”
   General Tahir Umar was listed on the Dana Air manifest of the ill-fated flight that crashed into a two-storey building in Iju-Ishaga area of Agege in Lagos state on Sunday, claiming 153 lives.
