AFTER the expiry of the seven day notice Charly Boy gave two media houses over publications that he was gay, and that he was quoted as saying he was the head of popular cult group, Illuminati, Charly Boy has threatened a legal battle with the two publishing houses that ran the story penultimate weekend.
In a press release regarding the rumor, which he claims has now gone viral on over 100,000 websites and blogs in one week, CB said in all his years as a public commentator, human rights activist and entertainer, he has never had to deal with such "an insidious report that appears to be directly calculated to portray me in the worst possible light at a time such as this.”
The former PMAN president assured Nigerians that he is not gay and that he didn't belong to the ‘Illuminati’ group in any way shape or form.
The Area Fada is particularly grieved that having given an opportunity to the two daily papers to publicly retract this story and apologize for their error, "these newspapers have continued to ignore my plight and distress with their false reporting.
"Rather than showing genuine remorse in order to convince me that the error was unintentional, they have failed, refused and neglected to retract the story or apologise for same. Even as at the time of this release, these damaging stories are still very much visible on the online pages of these newspapers," he stated.
Ever since these stories broke, the general public, who believed these false stories because it was coming from reputable organizations, have also vilified me in hundreds of thousands of posts and comments on different social networking forums. I have essentially become an object of ridicule worldwide as a result of these lies, he added.
CB has therefore instructed his legal adviser, Ope Banwo, to begin action against the two outfits.
