The Presidency, yesterday chided the embattled Chairman of the House of Representatives Ad-hoc Committee on Fuel Subsidy Payment, Farouk Lawan, denying allegation that it was behind the ploy to rubbish him.
Briefing journalists in Abuja, Special Adviser to the President on Political Matters, Ahmed Ali Gulak, noted that the House of Representatives had conducted its probe on the fuel subsidy regime and forwarded the report to the executive, saying the president has directed the relevant agencies to look at the document.
He added that "the head of the ad-hoc committee, compromised himself by demanding and receiving bribe to the tune of $620,000," saying "it is in the public domain and there was confession to that effect."
