A Texas science teacher is accused of giving a student some private biology lessons.
Rumors had been flying at the Fort Worth high school that Rachelle Nicole Heenan, a married mom with two kids, had a thing for a particular male student, police said.
When administrators at the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent School got wind of the situation in May, they notified Forth Worth police and began investigating.
They discovered that the couple had been texting and that this led to an encounter “in the parking lot of private gym,” Fort Worth police Sgt. Pedro Criado told a local CBS News affiliate.
That, in turn, led to “conversations inside the vehicle, and ultimately led to kissing,” he said.
After that, it was straight to the forbidden fruit.
“The victim met the suspect at a local hotel in Fort Worth and they eventually had sex for the first time,” Criado said. “They did have sex after that, I believe multiple times.”
Heenan, who is 34, has been teaching at the school district since August 2004.
“School officials began hearing rumors that were circulating in the school and became suspicious,” Criado said. “They ended up cooperating with the Fort Worth School Initiative Officer assigned to the school.”
Heenan was put on paid administrative leave on May 21 “after district officials learned of the allegations,” said district spokeswoman Kristin Courtney.
While Heenan may have stepped out on her husband of ten over the years, the blond teacher was strictly a one student seducer, officials believe.
The district doesn't believe other students were involved, officials said.
The student was listed as 18 on the police report, CBS reported, but it didn’t say how old he was when he was seduced.
Nevetheless, Texas teachers are forbidden from having sexual relationships with their students — no matter what their age.
Heenan was charged with engaging in an improper relation with a student and freed after posing $10,000 bond. Her school bio states that she had been married for a decade.
