Kuti, Ekpo Family Reject Faces Of Their Matriach On N5,000 Note

Following the proposed plan for the Federal government to use the faces of Margaret Ekpo, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti and Gambo Sawaba on the new N5,ooo, the families of Margaret Ekpo, Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti have rejected the move. Reacting to the planned introduction of the N5,000 note, families of Margaret Ekpo and Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti said they are grateful to the Federal Government for the honour, which is in appreciation of their sterling contributions to the development of Nigeria, they, however, insisted that the gesture is ill-timed and negates what their matriarchs had always fought against when they were alive
