Executives of the University Of Ibadan Students' Union and members of the planning committee for the 2012 Ivory Awards have decided to suspend all activities and preparations for the 2012 Ivory Awards for the time being. The main reasons being disclosed were that the Union was faced with more pressing issues concerning recent school fees hike, the 2013 hostel accommodation malady, evacuation from boys' quaters (December 31 deadline), new quota for hostel per-room policy amongst other issues. After a series of long meetings and worthwhile deliberations, the executives of the SU (amidst threats from some quarters of the Union calling for congress) decided it was in the best interests of the Union to address these issues before proceeding to conclude activities on the Ivory Awards.
