African leaders meet with President Obama. Who Represented our president?

The leaders of four African nations met with President Barack Obama on March 28th at the White House. They leaders were: Ernest Bai Koroma of Sierra Leone, Macky Sall of Senegal, Joyce Banda of Malawi and José Maria Pereira Neves of Cape Verde.

Why would the president of the most populous black nation in Africa not be invited?
