#ASUU STRIKE UPDATE:: DELSU ASUU urges stakeholders to intervene in Persuading FG to honour 2009 agreement

8:37 AM

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU), Delta State University chapter, Abraka, has urged all stakeholders to prevail on the Federal Government to save the nation’s university education from imminent collapse by honoring the 2009 agreement.

The union made this call in a press release signed by its chairman, Dr Emmanuel Nwafor Mordi, made available to the Nigerian Tribune’s office in Warri, Delta State.

Arising from a congress, held on Wednesday, the lecturers vowed to continue with the strike at the state level until the FG respects and implements the 2009 ASUU/FG agreement, the 2012 MoU, the  2012 NEEDS Assessment Main Report and the 2013 Technical Report  on the NEEDS Assessment of Nigerian public universities.

The statement also condemned the just-concluded Post-UTME held in the institution, alleging that the conduct fell short of minimum standards for DELSU exams.

It urged the institution’s authority to distance itself from the outcome of the shoddy examination.
