After about 5 weeks of negotiation between the Federal Government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities, it seems like an end to the lingering strike is in sight. After series of meetings, Governor Suswam confirmed that by next week, the strike would be called off ( I sincerely hope so, at least for the sake of thousands of youths just idling and whiling away time when their counterparts in private institutions are making the best use of theirs'). Meanwhile, some institutions like Adamawa State University have made moves to pull out of the strike and I think other universities should tow that line so sanity could be restored to our educational system.
