#CODED-ish Gist:: [PHOTO] Popular Business Woman & Winner of 2006 Beauty Pageant to be Arrested For Car Theft

12:59 PM

An Accra Circuit Court has ordered the arrest of Hamamat Montia, the Winner of 2006 Miss Malaika Beauty Pageant for failing to appear before it. Ms Montia, who is also a businesswoman has been charged with stealing.

She has been accused of stealing an unregistered Toyota Highlander 2008 model belonging to one Versa Keskinen, a Finnish national. When the matter was called Ms Montia was not in court. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) C. K Abadamlora prayed the court for a bench warrant to arrest Ms Montia.

In 2011 the case was filed at an Accra Fast Track by Versa Keskinen (ex boyfriend of Hamamat Montia ) in which Versa Keskinen alleged, that Montia conspired with one Abraham Tetteh, of De-Gjando Company Limited, and succeeded in dispossessing him of his Toyota Highlander 4 Wheel drive, which he bought at a cost of USD 35, 000.

According to the then filed documents, Keskinen said around 29th November2010, he left Ghana to Finland on an emergency business trip, and asked one Seth Mensah to go for the said car from De-Gjando Company Limited, but before Mensah could get there, Hamamat had been given the car by the company, without any authorization from him.

According to Keskinen, even though he ordered for the car be registered in his name before leaving Ghana for his business trip, somehow, Hamamat Montia managed to get the car to be registered in her name. And because efforts to claim his car back from Hammat Montia has been unsuccessful, Versa Keskinen reported her for theft.

We believe it is the same case which has been dragging till today—with a warrant having been issued for the arrest of Hamamat
