#CODED-ish News::C.Ronaldo Named World's Richest Footballer, Guess How Much

Portugal and Real Madrid forward Christiano Ronaldo has been named the world's richest footballer topping Lionel Messi to cap off a fantastic past few months after winning the Ballon D'or.

The tricky player was named as the richest by football site Goal, with an estimated wealth of 148 million Euros.

David Beckham won last year's list but as he retired last year at Paris Saint German he is no longer eligible to be on the list.

Barcelona's Messi comes second with an estimated net worth of €146million followed by Eto'o with €85million then Wayne Rooney with €84million, and Kaka rounds off the top 5 with €82million.

But Goal made it clear that the list is based on the revenue of active players over the course of their entire careers and not just the previous year.
