#CODED-ish News::CAN Reveals A 'List' With 178 Names Of Abducted GGSS Chibok Female Students

5:22 AM

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) revealed a list of missing Government Girls State School (GGSS) Chibok female students, who have been abducted and held captive by the members of the Boko Haram Islamic sect since April 14-15, 2014.

Evangelist Matthew Owojaiye of the Old Time Revival Hour Church in Kaduna has published the list of 178 abducted students, out of them 163 Christian girls and only 15 Muslim girls.

The names were given as an attachment to his statement titled "Abomination! Abomination!! Christian girls abducted in Chibok, Borno state".

The author of the statement, who is the immediate-past chairman of Northern States Christian and Elders Forum (NOCSEF), an affiliate of CAN, did not name his source, so it was not possible to authenticate it. What also brought confusion is the incomplete number of missing students, if we recall previous statements from both the parents and the government, which put the number of abducted girls from 234 to 276.

"Daughters of Zion taken captive, to be treated as slaves and sold into marriage to unclean people. Abomination has been committed," Owojaiye said in the statement.

He further warned that "ordinary" military approach may be unable to solve the problem of securing their return, but that "intensive agonizing" prayer will.

On the subject of post-recovery, he demanded that the Federal Government, whose duty was to protect the innocent girls, should pay N50million in trauma compensation to each girl.

In addition, he demanded preparation to take each girl to foreign universities on government scholarship by September 2014, and the transfer of the SS1 and SS2 girls in the school to schools of their choice, at the expense of the government.

"Chibok Local Government is 90% Christians. Majority of the girls abducted are Christian! Why did Boko Haram visit Chibok Local Government? Why didn't they visit so many other Local Government Girls Secondary Schools in Borno State?" the author of the statement asked.

The names of the Christians among the abducted girls, according to CAN, are:
