AUTHORITIES of the University of Ibadan (UI) have slated the re-opening of the premier university for Sunday, May 27 and the resumption of academic activities for Monday, May 28.
In an advertorial signed by the registrar of the institution, Olujimi Olu-koya, the management of the university said the resumption followed the restoration of municipal services like water and electricity to the school.
Giving a current situation report in the tertiary institution, the registrar said power situation had been improved upon.
The release said the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) would complete its task on installations at Shasha substation on June 8
According to him, the authorities of the university had also fixed a generating set at the water treatment plant in the school, to aid free flow of water, while boreholes had been sunk in designated areas, in addition to the water tankers being made functional.
