Justice Benedict Kanyip of the National Industrial Court, Lagos, will tomorrow, deliver his ruling on the preliminary objection of the Lagos State government to a suit filed by the 788 medical doctors whose appointments were recently terminated by the state government.
The doctors had, in the suit instituted by both the chairman of the Medical Guild, Dr Olumuyiwa Odusote and the general secretary, Dr Idris Durojaiye, on behalf of themselves and other members of the guild, asked the court to void the identical dismissal letters purportedly issued to them by the government.
Arguing the state government’s objection to the suit, the Attorney-General of Lagos State, Ade Ipaye, said the defendants were seeking for the order of the court declaring that it had no jurisdiction over the case and thus striking out the suit in its entirety.
