Ondo Prison Break: 175 Inmates Escape

175 inmates have escaped after a break in at the Nigeria Prisons Service Medium Security Prison located in Olokuta, along Ondo Road Akure, Ondo State Capital.
Tunde Olayiwola the Controller of Prisons in Ondo State used guns and explosives to break the prison wall through which the inmates escaped.
This happened at 12.05am when about 30 gunmen attacked the prison shooting sporadically, with bullets going through the fortified walls, gates, and floors.
The prison built in 1989 is supposed to accommodate a total of 160 inmates.
