Saudi Arabia plans to build women-only City
Reports say the controversial city, which is now being designed will have its construction begin next year. The city is expected to have women-run firms and also production lines for women.
The plan coincides with the governments ambitions to get women to play a more active part in the development of the country. Among the stated objectives are to create jobs, particularly for younger women.
'I'm sure that women can demonstrate their efficiency in many aspects and clarify the industries that best suits their interests, their nature and their ability', Modon's deputy director-general, Saleh Al-Rasheed, told Saudi daily newspaper al-Eqtisadiah.
Saudi's existing industrial cities already have factories owned by women, as well as companies that employ a small portion of the female population and Saleh Al Rasheed added: 'We are now working on a second industrial city for women."

CAN asks President Jonathan to resign
CAN expressed disappointment over the statement attributed to President Goodluck Jonathan that "members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect" are our siblings and you cannot set the army to wipe out your family".
A statement by spokesman of the association Mr. Sunday Oibe said President Jonathan had failed Nigerians and therefore ought to resign.
"With such submissions from the presidency, it further explains why the dreaded Islamic sect has continued to thrive and get away with their murderous acts or are those being killed by the sect, particularly Christians, not members of the Nigerian family," he said?
While Oibe noted that President Jonathan seems not to understand that the Boko Haram sect is out to destabilize the country and undermine his administration, he said the manifestation of such statement by the president could probably be that he is shielding terrorist group at the expense of the lives of innocent Nigerians that are being killed on a daily basis by the sect.
"Soldiers, police and other security personnel are being killed by Boko Haram members and the president has the effrontery to tell us that these murderers are members of the family and he cannot mobilize the army to deal with them. Even in a family, we know that no responsible family will condone any form of crime or murder and destruction of property,
"It is clear that Jonathan is not bothered about the killing of Christians and other Nigerians. May be the Christians, non Christians and security agents being killed by this sect are not members of this family he is talking about. Jonathan has failed Nigerians and he should resign as president because by this statement, it is very clear that he is not capable of handling the danger posed by the Boko Haram sect," CAN stated.

Adesina's advice came on the heels of wanton destruction of lives and properties by the fundamentalist Boko Haram sect in the North.
A similar counsel from the sect asking the President to either covert to Islam or resign as the condition for peace was spurned by Jonathan.
Adesina, who spoke during the 2012 Ramadan Tefsir lecture held at the Gbadamosi Olowoporoku Adesina Memorial Mosque, Felele, Ibadan, admitted that impeachment through voting remains the conventional way of removing or sacking a president.
According to the former governor and one of the leaders of the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN), before the coming into power by President Jonathan, the country was relatively very peaceful.
He said: "After a thorough assessment of the situation, it is my belief that we must achieve peace at this point in time because if there is no peace now, then Nigeria is going to collapse.
"Therefore, while I am calling on the Boko Haram sect to soft-pedal, I am calling on President Jonathan, if it is his resignation that will bring about peace in Nigeria, let him resign.
"To me, it has become abundantly clear that peace in Nigeria may not be achieved by President Jonathan. These people (Boko Haram) are bent on evoking violence on the people of this country.
"If there is a way by which President Jonathan can stop the Boko Haram, let him continue, but definitely I don't think this thing can continue indefinitely. Every peace-loving Nigerian is tired of what is happening today. That is why I am saying if it is resignation that will bring peace in Nigeria, let him resign."

Captain Tito Omaghomi, a retired pilot with defunct Nigerian Airways and National President of Concerned Aviation Professionals, CAP, on Thursday blamed the ill-fated Dana aircraft crash on June 3, in Iju-Ishaga, Lagos, on the crew members.

Omaghomi told a Lagos coroner investigating the cause of the death of victims aboard the ill-fated airline that the negligence of the flight crew, who he said did not adhere to required emergency guidelines led to the loss.
Omaghomi, who is also addressed as ‘Captain Tito’ said his opinion on the preliminary report of the Accident Investigation Bureau, AIB, was that the pilot and his crew failed to adhere to necessary checklists to prevent the crash.

The President of the Christian Association of Nigeria, CAN, Pastor Ayo Oristejiafor, has written a letter to the visiting American Secretary of State, Hillary Rodham Clinton, expressing CAN’s reservation on the manner the issues of Boko Haram and related violence by Islamist groups against Nigerian Christians are being treated by the United States.
The Letter dated July 7, 2012 which was signed on behalf of Oristejiafor by Secretary General of CAN, Rev. Musa Asake also described as inaccurate the 2011 International Religious Freedom report which catalogued the attacks on Christians and their places of worship by the Islamic sect.

A female banker with Standard IBTC bank, Yinka Johnson, on Friday Crushed LASTMA official, 33-year-old Hammed Balogun, to death along the Lekki-Ajah Expressway, Lagos State.
