Nkiru Sylvanus' family paid N8 million to kidnappers for her release
The Commissioner of Police, Adisa Bolanta, said the family did this without the knowledge of the police. He said they had warned the family not to negotiate or deal directly with the kidnappers but they defied their orders
"They defied our warnings and continued negotiations with the kidnappers. They went behind us and paid N8 million to them. We have made some arrests in connection with the case and very soon they will all be apprehended." He said

Nkiru Sylvanus, Kenneth Okolie released!
Nkiru and Kenneth were both kidnapped at 2.30pm close to the famous Concord Hotel, Owerri. The kidnappers had then contacted family and some friends of Nkiru to demand N100m as ransom. But barely hours after an open letter was written to the IG of Police on the matter by concerned friends of the kidnap victims, their release was eventually secured.

Police declare teacher wanted over N8m fraud
The Inspector General of Police has declared a teacher, Adegoke Adetoye, wanted for allegedly defrauding his employer of N8 million.
A Special Police Gazette Bulletin with reference number CR3150/SFU/ADM/PUB-A/10/10/12 disclosed that the suspect committed the offence at Ruxon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos State.
The police said the suspect conspired with some of his colleagues to defraud the school using a forged bank stamp on the school’s pay slip.
It stated that the last address of the 45-year-old suspect is number 2, Arch of Convenant, Oriwo Quarters, Owode-Egba, Ogun State.
The police said the investigation was conducted by the Police Special Fraud Unit,’D’ Department (Force C.I.D),Milverton Road, Ikoyi, Lagos.
The gazette also stated that a warrant of arrest has been duly obtained from a Magistrate Court in Lagos against the suspect.
The bulletin said a “handsome” reward awaits any person(s) with information that would lead to the arrest of the suspect.

Do you hope to remarry?
Definitely. Everybody knows that about me that I’m definitely trying to remarry. I’m hopelessly romantic, I believe in the institution of marriage. I grew up in a family and my family was very close. I grew up with family morals. I want that for my kids.
I believe my kids should grow up in a home, not a house. Definitely, I do plan on getting married again, one day, very soon, yes, hopefully. If I find the right guy, I would definitely be doing that.
What lessons have you learnt from that botched relationship?
Now, I’m going to be a little bit more careful. I would watch carefully and instead of just following my heart, I would do so with my brain. When you are younger, you are likely to make mistake, but I have realized that life doesn’t work like that. Now, I would look at the basics. What do you want? Five, 10 years from now, where do you see yourself ? I would ask all those questions. Anybody that tries to talk to me today, maybe, telling me ‘I love you’ and all that, I will ask the person some questions. If you don’t love me, don’t say that to me. If you are able to answer those posers and your answers tally with mine, then we can go ahead; if not we call it quit.

World's First Gay Bible, Queen James Version Published
A book claiming to be the world's first 'gay bible' has been published to coincide with the debate on same-sex marriage. Titled the 'Queen James Bible', its editors claim that it is a re-working of the King James Bible translated in a way that 'prevents homophobic misinterpretation of God's Word'. 'Homosexuality was first overtly mentioned in the Bible in 1946 in the Revised Standard Version. There is no mention of or reference to homosexuality in any Bible prior to this – only interpretations have been made', the book's official website said.

Hacker behind leaked Scarlett Johansson naked photos jailed for 10 years
The man who hacked into the computer of celebrities such a Scarlett Johansson (and then subsequently leaked those now infamous naked snaps of her), Mila Kunis and Christina Aguilera has been put in prison for 10 years.
Christopher Chaney was arrested in Florida last year after he hacked into the email accounts of over 50 people in the entertainment industry. He also targeted people who knew directly, once sending nude pictures of a co-worker to her own father.
He pleaded guilty to nine charge, including wiretapping and unauthorised access to a computer.
The presiding judge in the case said: "It's hard to fathom the mindset of a person who would accomplish all of this. These types of crimes are as pernicious and serious as physical stalking."

Well, who can blame her? She's probably had enough.
