NYSC member wins a car for keeping virginity

THE Abia State Governor, Theodore Orji, has commended the Purity Organisation for promoting purity among youths and called on singles to strive to keep their virginity, which he described as their enduring priceless legacy.

The governor spoke in Umuahia on Wednesday while welcoming to his office the winner of the 2013 World Purity Queen, Mrs. Nwanyieze Prosper, who also won the car prize donated by the Purity Organisation, as a reward for maintaining her virginity till marriage.

When did you wed her? And were you still married as at when she passed yesterday?
We wed in December 2005 and were very much married when she passed indeed I was talking to her on arrival in Lagos before the fateful event

I see you moved back to England. Do you have another family?
I work in Malaysia, we have a private home in UK, I do not have a second family

Also did you have kids together?
No kids, we were planning this year

There had been speculation for many years that she was married to an ‘oyinbo’ man. But no one could lay hands on anything. Why did you keep it a ‘secret’?

Singer Dencia involved in car accident

The singer was involved in a car accident yesterday February 15th. She said she was driving and 'was so lost in her thoughts and didn't know how she lost control of the car.' Her car was seriously damaged following the accident but thankfully she was not injured.

“On behalf of Kennis Music, I’m sad to officially confirm the shocking and untimely passage of Nigeria’s pop star, Goldie Harvey. With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our darling music star, Goldie Harvey.

Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after she complained of a severe headache at her Park View residence shortly after her arrival from the United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award. She was rushed to her official hospital, Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival. We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian music industry in view of the circumstance Goldie passed away, the abundance of talent she has exhibited in her but eventful music career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of America would have availed her.

Nevertheless Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz and Michelle Williams managed to look truly amazing when they turned out for the premiere of their latest movie The Wonderful Wizard of Oz, which is a prequel to The Wizard of Oz.

For the occasion Rachel opted for a Victoria Beckham orange gown, Mila donned a Dolce & Gabbana grey prom dress while Michelle slipped into a white, embroidered Prada frock.

Their co-star in the flick James Franco, who plays the Wizard of Oz, didn’t look to shabby either – he arrived at the premiere (in a hot air balloon would you believe) wearing a dapper Gucci suit.

RIP Goldie. Read Official Statement By Her Record Label Kennis Music

“With a deep sense of loss, we announce the shocking death of our darling music star, Goldie Harvey. Goldie, 31, died on Thursday after she complained of a severe headache shortly after her arrival from the United States where she went to witness the Grammy Award. She was rushed from her Park View, Ikoyi, Lagos residence to her official hospital, Reddington, Victoria Island, Lagos, where doctors pronounced her dead on arrival at exactly 7:30pm in the evening.

We consider this period a gloomy moment for us and the entire Nigerian music industry in view of the circumstance in which she passed away; the abundance of talent she exhibited in her short but eventful music career and the various opportunities her trip to the United States of America would have availed her. She is survived by her father, step- mother, brothers and sisters. We deeply sympathise with her family and fans all over the world and very grateful to all and sundry, especially, the vibrant Nigerian media for their concern and prompt reportage. We shall keep everybody informed as events unfold as we are devastated by the sudden loss.”

Goldie's remains has been deposited at the mortuary.

Shocking News: Singer Goldie Harvey is dead

I'm in shock. Just got a call from her best friend and my close friend, Denrele Edun. He told me Goldie died a few minutes ago in his arms at Reddington Hospital in Victoria Island. Goldie just came back from the US today he said, and was so full of life, then something went tragically wrong. Will get all the details from him in a bit, he was crying so much and had to switch off his phone. I'm shaking so bad. She and I had a conversation a few days ago while she was in the US. Oh dear Lord. Is this how people die? May her soul rest in peace..Amen.

Update: Goldie's management have released a short statement via her Facebook page.

Man with charms caught in Alaafin’s palace, trying to jazz the king

AN uninvited man, who reportedly laced himself with charms, was arrested within the Palace of Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Olayiwola Adeyemi III.

The intrusion was said to have held princesses and other people living in the expansive premises spellbound.

According to information gathered, the stranger sneaked into the palace around 6am. The stranger was said to have been arrested before he was able to fulfil his mission.

The sneak preview of photos from Terry G’s video shoot of ‘Pull Of’ suggests that some Nigerian artistes have little or no concern for their audience or the message they pass across by their actions or otherwise.

Despite the Nigerian Broad coasting Commission’s ban of some music videos for supposedly displaying unclad scenes, erotic/suggestive dance moves and containing lewd lyrics, some Nigerian artistes are still hell-bent on courting controversy by shooting videos that will most likely end up falling under the ban list which begs the question: are the artistes shooting such videos deliberately seeking attention or is it now the norm to display almost unclad ladies in music videos?

Do you think the video, when finally released, should be banned or it is just part of showbiz?

Photo: My Fiancé Poured Hot Stew on Me- Woman

A 27-year-old woman, Mary Sunday, has been in the hospital bed at Igbobi Orthopaedic Hospital seven months after she was allegedly attacked by her fiancé, Corporal Isaac Gbanwuan, with a pot of boiling stew and a lighted stove. It was learnt that Sunday had lost her ears due to the attack. Before the attack, which took place in August 2012, Sunday, was to report for training at the Police Academy, Kano as a cadet officer.

Still nursing severe burns to her neck, chest and upper arms, Sunday can barely sit or walk straight. She holds her head stiffly and talks with difficulty as she recalled the events that led to her present state to PUNCH Metro on Wednesday.

She said, “I have known Gbanwuan for a while, while I was still a student at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, but it wasn’t until our marriage introduction in 2011 that I moved in with him at the Pedro Police Barracks, Lagos.
