How did a young boy outsmart security operatives at the Benin Airport yesterday to stow away on a commercial flight to Lagos undetected? This is one of the questions experts in the aviation industry and security agencies will have to find an answer to after the boy was found on the arrival of the plane at the local wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Ikeja yesterday.The boy, whose name was given as Daniel Ihekina, hid in the tyre compartment of Arik Aircraft 5N-MJG, Flight 44 while preparing for take- off to Lagos at 9am. The management of the airline attributed the development to security lapses at the Benin Airport. But FAAN countered, saying the airline acted with impunity on the matter.
A passenger aboard the plane said:
"we were suspicious in Benin when the plane was about taking off when we heard a noise as if the tyre crushed somebody on the ground. Some people even started shouting 'Jesus, Jesus, which suggested that the boy was already inside the tyre compartment before we left. "So, we left for Lagos but when we landed at the Ikeja Airport, the boy came out from the tyre compartment and everybody started shouting.
"Seriously speaking, this shows that we have serious problems with regard to securing our airports. This is a serious security breach. If that boy was carrying bomb it means he would have succeeded in blowing up the plane. How can somebody be in an aircraft without being detected? We are in trouble in this country."

"When the picture leaked, we were not happy initially. I was very skinny but when I saw the response from the fans, I was shocked. I did not know people liked me that much. He said there were times when he felt like he was dying:
"There was a time that I felt I would die. My only fear was that I was not close to God. I was afraid that if I died, I would not make it to heaven. We musicians have a particular lifestyle. You may plan to be upright, but when you go into entertainment business, it would change you. I was regretting that I was not close to God. I did not want to go to hell. I felt so happy that I survived".
Assured that he is healed, he said that at the end of the treatment, he did a blood test and they said he was okay. The singer told Saturday Beats that the treatment cost him about £58,000 (about N14.6 Million). He was supported by some close friends like P-Square, KCee, Flavour and a London-based friend, Ugonna, who offered them both accommodation and about £30,000.
"After the treatment, I did two other tests and the doctors confirmed that I was okay. After three months, I am meant to go for a PET scan. I could remember that before the treatment, we had a meeting and agreed that we had to bring £50,000. After the seventh chemotherapy session, the whole money finished. They had to send more £8,000 into the account I was using. The last time I went to withdraw money, what was left there was £120. So I used about £58,000," the singer said.

According to People, Khloe often wears her bling to gym sessions and looked preoccupied after her workout session.
'She didn't smile at all and seemed miserable,' a source told the website. 'She seemed like she had a lot on her mind.'
The star seemed to want to hide in the zip-up sweatshirt which she matched with three-quarter black leggings, a white T-Shirt and black trainers.
Khloe has not been spotted out with her basketball star husband since June 2 and claims surfaced last month that Lamar had cheated on her, which he denies.
Lamar has also been spotted staying at hotels close to the home he shares with his wife of nearly four years, sparking further rumours of marriage trouble.
But a source told People that the 32-year-old sportsman only stays at a hotel when the family reality show is shooting at their home, adding that Khloe is 'very loyal' to her husband.

The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Benin, Prof. Osayuki Oshodin has commended the National Assembly for voting against the legalization of same-sex marriage, in spite of pressures from some countries and international donor agencies.The University don spoke today at the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the National Institute for Legislative Studies (NILS) and UNIBEN to offer postgraduate diploma and masters’ programmes in areas of Legislative Studies, Parliamentary Administration and Legislative Drafting, held at the National Assembly.
According to the University Don the stance of the National Assembly against the same sex marriage increased their image in the eyes of Nigerians. Director General of the NILS, Dr. Ladi Hamalai in her opening remarks said the programmes will improve legislative practice in Nigeria and across the continent, especially as the expertise in such programmes are not readily available in Universities.
“The Institute has over ten Ph.D holders in relevant fields. In addition, we have a team of in-house consultants such as Prof. Mike Obadan, Prof. Akpapan and Prof. D.A Goubadia to also teach courses.”
She said. Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Senator Ike Ekweremadu who doubles as Chairman of the NILS governing council said UNIBEN is best for the programme because of the university’s expertise in social sciences as well as the university.
