A loud bomb blast has rocked a bus station on the outskirts of Abuja, the Nigerian capital.
The station at Nyanya, was crowded with workers and people going to Abuja, Nigeria's capital Abuja on Monday.
Many people were feared injured, said Manzo Ezekiel, spokesman of the National Emergency Management Agency.
"This morning there was an explosion at the Nyanya Motor Park," Ezekiel said. Nyanya is located 33 kms from the capital.
"Rescue teams are already on ground. There were so many people there at that time, so we think there must have been some injuries," he added. The cause of the blast was not yet known.
Reuters reported that no fewer than 20 people were killed in the blast.
A Reuters cameraman saw 20 bodies at the depot at Nyanya bridge, south of Abuja, and two witnesses said another 15 had already been removed by the emergency services.
"I was waiting to get on a bus when I heard a deafening explosion then smoke. People were running around in panic," said Mimi Daniels, who works in Abuja. Another blast followed, she said.
There was no immediate claim of responsibility but suspicion is likely to fall on Islamist militant group Boko Haram. The Islamists have been waging an increasingly bloody insurgency in the northeast.
Suspected Islamist militants killed at least 60 people in an attack on a village in northeast Nigeria late last week. Eight people were killed in a separate attack at a teacher training college, witnesses said.

The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Jigawa, on Sunday, said it arrested a medical doctor (name withheld) for alleged impersonation and examination malpractice. The NSCDC Commandant in the state, Mr Muhammad Gidado, told newsmen in Dutse that the doctor in question works with Gumel General Hospital in Gumel Local Government Area of the state. Gidado said the suspect was arrested on Saturday by NSCDC officials who were supervising JAMB examination at Lautai Science Secondary School, Dutse.
He was arrested while writing JAMB examination for his wife (name also withheld), he added. The commandant said that an NSCDC official noticed that the name on the suspect's question paper was a female name and when he interrogated the suspect, he could not give satisfactory explanation.
According to him, the suspect confessed committing the offence and has been handed over to the police for further action. Gidado warned that "wrong is wrong is wrong, no matter who does it. The law does not respect anyone, except he who respects it.

#CODED-ish News::Angry Mob Set Suspected Female Kidnapper Ablaze in Ilorin
According to reports, the mother of the baby was alighting from a motorcycle and had asked the woman to assist her hold the baby. But surprisingly, the suspected kidnapper bolted away with the baby. Shocked, the mother of the baby raised alarm which attracted passersby and neighbours and they chased the fleeing suspect. The mob eventually caught up with her, stripped her naked and beat her mercilessly before setting her ablaze.
The incident resulted in pandemonium as panic-stricken residents, shop owners, commuters and pedestrians
fled in different directions. In the ensuing confusion, some motorists near the area abandoned their vehicles and took to their heels, while others made a detour to avoid being implicated. Also some confused passersby were said to have taken refuge in nearby residential buildings.
Armed policemen from a Division of the state Police Command were quickly deployed to the troubled area.
They consequently restored normalcy. A source who pleaded anonymity told journalists that they were shocked when the suspect ran away with the baby.
He said:
"A nursing mother who was cuddling a baby was alighting from okada (motorcycle) and asked the female kidnapper to help her hold her baby. Before we knew what was happening, the woman fled with the toddler and people caught her. She was given the beating of her life.
When they discovered that the woman was unperturbed, they poured kerosene on her and set ablaze at the scene. Immediately the policemen arrived the scene, they started shooting and everybody scampered to safety."
The Kwara State Commissioner of Police, Mr Ambrose Aisabor, confirmed the incident and confirmed the arrest of some suspects.

#CODED-ish News:: Tragedy!!! Boko Haram Kills 210, JAMB UTME Candidates In Borno
Scores of students traveling to write the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination in Borno State have been reportedly killed by the Boko Haram sect.
They were among several persons that lost their lives in multiple attacks unleashed by the dreaded sect in four communities.
The Senator representing Borno Central in the Senate, Zannah Ahmed, on Friday, accused the military of complicity in Thursday attack on part of troubled Borno State where he claimed that 210 people were killed in attacks on four towns.
The towns included Dikwa, Kala Balge, Gambulga and Gwoza.
The senator claimed that the attackers were all dressed in military uniforms and spoke English language.
This was a departure from the Hausa and Kanuri language spoken by the Boko Haram insurgents.
He even lamented that authorities of the military post in Gamboru, which purportedly received a distressed call from the people of Kala Balge avoided the town, claiming that it was not in its area of command.
The senator who said he was compelled to speak out because his people were being killed on a daily basis, added “what happened in Borno was beyond understanding.”
He said: “It is a must for me to speak since the people lives are involved and they are my people. All these are happening in my constituency and it will be wrong to keep quiet. I feel so much pained and would not have spoken but definitely my conscience will not let me do that.”
He alleged that 210 people were slaughtered by marauders, who dressed in military uniforms and attacked the towns in two armored personnel cars and seven double cabin pickups.
According to him, they attacked a Teachers College in Dikwa and killed seven people, burnt down the school library and administrative block.
He said Kala Balge was the most devastated as 60 people were killed by the armed men who went on the rampage.
He said after they left Kala Balge they attacked three other towns in the area where a total of 150 persons were killed.
Our correspondent made repeated efforts to call the Director of Defence Information, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade, without success as the calls to his mobile telephone line did not connect.
Our correspondent also sent a text message to the Defence Spokesman which had not been replied as of the time of filing the story.
A security source, however, said that the insurgents laid ambush for a group of students who were on their way to Biu from Maiduguri to write the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Examination scheduled for Saturday April, 2014.
It was learnt that the JAMB candidates were riding in eight vehicles were they ran into the insurgents ambush.
It was, however, not clear whether the insurgents got the all occupants of the eight vehicles or not.
He stated however that the incident took place on Wednesday evening.
