Obasanjo Disallowed From Sponsoring Uloma Okorocha's Wedding Ceremony

The holy matrimony between Uche Nwosu and Uloma Okorocha held today, Saturday 5th, 2013 with a befitting ceremony to show for it.

But during the ceremony which I watched, ...don't ask me where and how,***winks, Fmr. President, Olusegun Obasanjo was refused to be a sponsor of the weeding due to the fact that he is not a catholic. Guess that's the tradition of the catholic which must be respected.

Wish the newly wedded couple a HAPPY MARRIED LIFE!!!

Mel Gibson's 94year old dad divorces his 78 year old wife

Mel Gibson's 94-year-old father Hutton Gibson has divorced his 78-year-old wife, Teddy Joye Hicks. The divorce was finalized on Wednesday January 2nd. Hutton married Teddy in 2001. The two separated in May 2012 and Mel's father filed for divorce a month later. The two separated after Teddy was suspected of trying to cut off Hutton's meds in order to accelerate his death. Wow!!! Not too cool!

Zamfara Arranges Husbands For 2000 Widows

The Zamfara State government is planning to ‘’arrange husbands’’ for about 2,000 widows in the state.

This was made known by the state Commissioner for Women and Children Affairs, Hajia Balkisu Bungudu.

In May last year, the Kano State government- owned Sharia police (Hisbah Borad), arranged marriages for about 100 out of an estimated 1,000 widows and divorcees in a grand ceremony witnessed by guests and spectators from the state and beyond in a scheme aimed at assisting widows, divorcees and spinsters to get married.

However, Bungudu said that as a result of this the state government had already registered 1,998 widows preparatory to marrying them off, adding that the mass wedding would be sponsored by the government.

She did not disclose the amount budgeted by the government for the marriage jamboree.

The Commissioner who spoke to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital expressed concern over the increase in the number of widows in the state.

VIDEO: Shocking!! Father Kills 4-Month Old Son for Ritual in Kogi state

The police command in Kogi state have arrested a middle aged man, Mr Hosea Folorunsho in Egbe town of Yagba West local government council for the alleged gruesome murder of his son for ritual purpose.

Briefing journalists on the arrest in Lokoja, the Kogi state capital, the Commissioner of Police, Mr Mohammed Katsina says the suspect, a herbalist, also buried the child in a shallow grave in his own compound.

BasketMouth Joins The League in Launching Dana Air Flight

Passengers on board Dana Air inaugural flight on Friday clap roared in jubilation when the Dana air plane landed safely at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja, the Nigerian capital.

Dana Air Flight 9J353 left the Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos, southwest Nigeria, few minutes after 10 am and landed in Abuja at 11.05 packed with celebrities, journalists and some passengers.

PHOTO: Baby Grabs Doctor's Finger From Womb!

A truly amazing image of a baby grabbing the doctor’s fingers during childbirth has been shared all over the world.

Randy Atkins was on hand to capture the moment his wife Alicia gave birth last October, but had no idea the images for his family photo album would become so famous.

During his wife’s C-section, he was called over by the doctor as baby Nevaeh Atkins made her debut into the world by literally grabbing hold of the doctor’s fingers.

Recalling the moment, he revealed: “The doctor called me over and said, ‘Hey, she’s grabbing my finger.

“So I ran over there and just grabbed the shot and I was just in awe looking at it. It was such an amazing picture.”

The couple, who shared the picture on Facebook, saw the image go viral – receiving over 1,590 shares and 3,305 likes.

Writing below the Facebook post, Alicia – who is the professional photographer of the family – wrote: “This was 10 weeks ago when I was having my C-Section and Dr.Sawyer broke my water…and my daughter reached out of my stomach and grabbed the Dr’s finger and my hubby caught this special moment.”

Generator fumes kill 80-year-old woman, four grandchildren

Sorrow and sadness on Thursday enveloped Robiyan, near Ijoko in Ifo Local Government, Ogun State as residents discovered the lifeless bodies of an 80 year-old woman, identified as Madam Kuburat, and her four grandchildren, including a toddler in a newly completed house.

Five other people who slept in the house were in critical conditions at two general hospitals as doctors battle to save their lives.

During an interview with Seventeen magazine the star said she falls in love with “people” not “genders”, saying:

Sister Accidently Shoots Brother Dead While Posing With Gun For Facebook Photo

A 19-year-old woman(Savannah Ramirez) accidentally shot dead her brother while posing with a gun for Facebook photos on New Year’s Eve. Manuel Ortiz died instantly after being shot in the head at about 6am on Monday morning.

Family and friends wept as his body was carried from his apartment in Phoenix, Arizona, where the shooting took place.

Police said 22-year-old Ortiz and his sister Savannah Ramirez arrived back at the home they shared on New Year’s Eve after spending the night drinking.

They were with two other people when someone in the group pulled out the handgun to take photos with it.
As the 19-year-old posed and played around with the weapon it went off striking Ortiz in the head, according to ABC15. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

It is not known if the group knew the handgun was loaded. Police say she has been questioned and released pending further investigation in the case.

On both Manuel and his sister’s Facebook pages there are numerous shots of them posing with guns and making gang symbols.

Sharp shooter: Balotelli’s sister reportedly pregnant for Obafemi Martins

The rumour about Obafemi Martins and Abigail’s relationship hit the web not so long ago and has been confirmed as true. But surprisingly Italian media are reporting that Mario Balotelli’s sister Abigail is expecting a child with former Inter striker and Nigerian international Obafemi Martins.

According to Italian magazine, ‘Diva e Donna’, Abigail Barwuah – Balotelli’s biological sister – is pregnant. The report indicates that Obafemi Martins is the father.

The magazine quotes her as saying: “The baby is making its presence felt. This is a very special Christmas for me.”

The relationship between the Nigerian goal poacher and his Ghanaian girlfriend started in Milan, Italy when Martins was playing for Inter Milan.

Even though some reports have it that Balotelli is not pleased with the relationship, Obafemi Martins has come out to say that Mario does in fact approve of the union.

Laure may have beaten top American celebrities such as the Kardashian family whose sibling, Kim, married basketball star, Kris Humphreys, for 72 days last year.Another celebrity, Britney Spears’ marrrriage to Jason Alevander lasted just 55 hours about nine years ago.

True Confession: "Are all the women out there giving their men BJs? Am I alone in this?"

Linda please could you pose this question to your male readers. Is a BJ that important to them that they would refuse to be in a relationship with a lady who would not give it to them? I think it is a disgusting act and I've vowed never to indulge in it and so in all the relationships I've been in I tell my boyfriends that I don't do BJs.

They seem okay with it initially but after some time they start giving excuses not to be in a relationship with me anymore. I didn't know what the problem was until my last boyfriend opened up to me and said he couldn't stay in a permanent relationship with a woman who would not give him head and said it was probably the same reason all my past relationships didn't work out.

FG To Buy 30 Airplanes To Reduce Airline Ticket

Graduands are ecstatic about graduating; they will accept mobbing as a form of congratulation.

No harm intended, just fun. Yet mates are seen mobbing and bullying each other.

The celebrating victims have just finished their final exams in Kogi State University and mates are celebrating the feat in a bizarre style.

Friends, junior schoolmates and well wishers are celebrating with them. But not in the conventional party mode you know. This is ‘rough and dirty.’

Graduands in Kogi state University are literally flogged, dragged on bare floor, and bathed with dirtiest and most stinking waste water – sometimes saved for the party.

Celebrants take no offence at the bizarre treatment, they endure it because they are overjoyed with graduating, an achievement that is not guaranteed for many university students in Nigeria.

The celebration is paradoxically fun for the students and have gradually grown into a huge tradition.

Some Alumni say celebratory bullying, seen in this video, is a new peak for a tradition which started with wetting graduands’, fresh from final examination classrooms, with water from ‘pure water’ bags or wine from expensive bottles.

Tales around the school have it that one student collapsed after she was choked with peppery waste water prepared to celebrate her graduation.

Man found dead in Concorde swimming pool

Two persons have been arrested by Imo Police Command for questioning in connection with the alleged sudden and unnatural death of a man in the swimming pool of Concorde Hotel, Owerri.

Vanguard investigations revealed that the deceased, whose names and addresses remained unknown at press time, hit his head on the walls of the hotel swimming pool as he was having a good time in the pool.

Davido Splits With Manager, Asa Asika

Davido and his manager, Asa Asika have gone their separate ways. Davido, 20, fell out with Asa, 22, after about two years together. Both parties decided to call it quit over some 'unsettled differences.'

Information reveals that Davido's record label, HKN, might be responsible for the 'accelerated split' between them due to what we gathered to be connected to money-related issues between the parties.

We further learnt that the split actually happened on Friday, December 28, 2012. It was also reported that HKN might have felt Davido needed a 'matured' management team to handle Davido's growing brand as against Asa's managerial power which, according to HKN, is believed to be 'immature'.

The label has reportedly been sourcing for another management team for Davido with Yemi Energy likely to be Asa's successor.

Governor Wada Discharged From Hospital

Kogi State Governor Idris Wada who was injured in a fatal auto accident last Friday was yesterday discharged from the Cedar Crest Hospital, Abuja where he had been receiving treatment for a broken thigh. Kidnappers of Nkiru Sylvanus Arrested! Ransom Recovered

Following the kidnap of Nollywood actress and special assistant to governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state on public affairs, Nkiru Sylvanus, in Owerri on December 16, 2012 and her subsequent release after the sum of N8 million was reportedly paid as ransom, the Imo State Police Command made good its promise to fish out the perpetrators as it parade four suspects on Monday at its headquarters in Owerri paraded four suspects in connection with the crime.

The state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adisa Bolanta, while parading the suspects, disclosed their names as Okoro Basil, Stella Opara (female), Festus Olegeme and Chijioke Chima.

Bolanta who revealed how they were apprehended in Imerienwe, Ngor Opkala, Imo State by a counter-terrorism team led by ASP Cyril Obu, added that they also recovered the ransom paid to the abductors.

Covenant University Expels 200 Students For Missing Church Service???

About 200 students may have been expelled by the authorities of Covenant University, Cannanland, Ota, Ogun State, recently for what was described as “disregard of paramount core values.”
Frustrated and angered by the development, some of the affected students who gave account of what happened battled emotions while narrating their situations to Saturday Vanguard recently. They however pleaded with the school authorities to tamper justice with mercy in order to save their future.

Out of the figure, about 126 were expelled for not attending the ‘departure service’, meant to sign off from the school after the end of the Semester and Matriculation of students on November 30. Five other students were thrown out for smoking while unconfirmed source said additional 60 got the same fate for violating other rules bordering on the University’s core values. A few others were given four weeks suspension for failure to sign the head count that was conducted a couple of weeks earlier.

A letter of expulsion signed by the Registrar, Ntia Ubong, a copy which was made available to Saturday Vanguard stated that the affected students contravened Chapter 1, section 30, page 40 of the 2010-2014 Student Handbook.

The massive expulsion was predicated on the anger of the Chancellor, Bishop David Oyedepo who was said to have been infuriated after seeing students loitering around when they were supposed to be at the Chapel for the Departure Service.
He was said to have personally chased students to the Chapel and ordered for a search into all the halls and colleges to fish out those who did not attend the service.
