#CODED-ish News: Bodija Traders Mourn Loss Of 14 Members, N33m In Two Attacks
Traders in Bodija market, yesterday, mourned the death of their colleagues after attacks by suspected Boko Haram gunmen left ten dead.Speaking on the sad incident at the market, Public Relations Officer of the market, Mr. Emiola Akeem, said they had lost a total of 14 members on their way to buy goods for traders at the market, and more than N33 million in the two attacks by Boko Haram.
“On May 5, this year, four of our members were murdered in cold blood and N11 million was stolen from them. This time again, after killing them, they stole N22 million we contributed to buy beans and fish,” Akeem said. The slain traders were said to have been attacked by gunmen suspected to be Boko Haram members at Mugunu in Borno State.
Business activities have resumed generally at the popular market, but the section for beans sellers was deserted with all the shops locked up. The traders who managed to come only stood in groups discussing the sad incident.

The Jama’atu Nasril Islam (JNI) has called on the management of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) to stop mixing males and females in the National Youth Service Scheme physical exercise at orientation camps as it violates Islamic tenets and offends the sensibilities of Muslims.
This JNI Secretary General, Dr. Khalid Abubakar, said this at the end of a peace and unity conference for Muslim scholars in Kaduna State.
Abubakar called on the NYSC to respect the decency and chastity of female corps members during physical exercises and other activities at the orientation camps, and provide alternative camps for female Muslim corps members.

Deeper Christian Life Ministry, renowned for its strict guidelines on the lifestyle habits of its members and conservatism, suspended John and his newly wedded wife, Love (Nee Odih), for organizing a flamboyant wedding in Jamaica that saw the couple using a Limousine and cutting a cake contrary to the church’s tradition.
More eyebrows were raised especially in the direction of the bride who was accused of using make-up and other flashy ensemble that accompanied a fitted wedding gown. The gown also had see-through sleeves; another breach of the church’s doctrine on conservative dressing.

#CODED-ish News: NUPENG Calls Off Strike
NUPENG said the strike, which resulted in traffic lock-down in such major cities as Abuja and Lagos, was necessary to draw attention to issues related to its members' jobs.
NUPENG had announced the commencement of the strike and directed all fuel depots to shut down in compliance on Monday. Its president, Achese Igwe, remarked in the statement that the issues that prompted the action included the high level of insecurity in the country, the bad state of the roads in the country, and an increasing level of oil theft in the littoral states. Mr. Igwe listed other issues as abuse of the expatriate quota by oil firms and non-compliance with stipulated principles regarding recruitment of casual workers in the oil sector.
In a statement Tuesday, the union announced the end of the strike. Speaking to our correspondent this morning, Tokunbo Korodo, the chairman of the south-west chapter of NUPENG,said the decision to suspend the industrial action followed the intervention of Andrew Yakubu, the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) as well as the Petroleum minister, Diezani Alison-Madueke.
However, NUPENG warned that its members would adopt a more serious and prolonged labor action without warning if the government failed to address the concerns raised by the union.
Severe traffic logjams were witnessed in Lagos yesterday as a result of long queues at fuel stations. The same experience had led to traffic gridlock in Abuja after NUPENG depot outlets stopped loading fuel on Monday.
Nigeria is in the grip of labor unrest, with university lecturers embarking on a strike over the government's failure to implement critical agreements reached several years ago.

Sources say the governor has shown that he is indeed a man with a heart of gold as he has wholly donated the complete N15million needed to save OJB's life as a result of his kidney problems.

NUPENG Strike: Long Petrol Station Queues Spreading
As the warning strike of the National Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers (NUPENG) continues nationwide, motorists in Abuja have resorted to spending nights at petrol stations in the hope of being able to buy some fuel.
Many of the motorists who could not join the endless queue during the day preferred to stay overnight. Some stations, however, were locked, claiming that they did not have any petrol. Some other stations are selling to the black marketers who corner the market in order to make profit from the scarcity.
At the start of the industrial action yesterday, members of the unions shut down oil depots in Lagos, thereby making supply to all parts of the country difficult. The National Executive Committee of the union is presently meeting in Abuja to decide if the strike will be called off or continued. Many stakeholders have appealed to the union to suspend the strike in the interest of the masses.

This world is really going nuts.Bishop Chibuike Nwabueze who is the Chairman of All Bishops in Rivers State, was arrested for allegedly raping a 15-year old girl, was paraded, yesterday, by the state Police Command.
The Bishop confessed to the crime before newsmen and said he was hypnotised, adding that he was set up by the pastor of the church where the incident occurred.
He denied raping the underage girl, but admitted that she removed her clothes after he finished praying for her in the office and before he could shout 'the blood of Jesus,' he was already all over the girl.

EXPOSED:- FG FORCED ASUU TO EMBARK ON STRIKE
Once again, the Federal Government’s refusal to honour an agreement it reached with lecturers of public universities has forced the Academic Staff Union of Universities to embark on industrial action on Monday, SEGUN OLUGBILE reports
When the Academic Staff Union of Universities suspended its two-month strike in February 2012, many had thought that the last had been heard of national strikes in public institutions. This optimism was hinged on the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the Federal Government and the lecturers on how to resolve funding challenges, infrastructural decay and welfare problem in the nation’s public universities.
But this is not to be, as the union on Monday stated that it has returned to the trenches to fight government for its alleged refusal to honour an agreement it reached with lecturers. Specifically, ASUU said it has resumed the suspended strike from Monday. This action, the union’s National President, Dr. Nasir Fagge, said was taken after the Federal Government allegedly failed to implement the agreement.
Fagge said the action, though painful, would be total, comprehensive and last for as long as the government implements the details of the Memorandum of Understanding that both parties signed in 2011. Consequently, the semester examinations going on in some universities would be disrupted, while admission processes would be put on hold. Final year students writing their projects would be hit hard, as their supervisors would not attend to them. By this, academic activities in public tertiary institutions, particularly in universities and polytechnics, which had been on strike in the last three months, would be paralysed.

While coming from the birthday party of one of their colleagues mother, 5 students of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) got involved in a fatal car accident along Ikeja Int’l airport road in Lagos on Monday.
According to eyewitnesses report, the car crash killed 3 out of the 5 unilag students instantly while 2 of them are in critical condition at the hospital.
We learnt one of the victim of this fatal car crash invited few of her friends to the birthday party of her boyfriend’s mother.
The students left Emerald hostel in the early hours of July 1st, 2013 for the journey of no return.
The lady that invited her friends got a surprise proposal from her boyfriend, the son of the birthday celebrant.

#CODED-ish: ASUU Commences Indefinite Strike
He made this declaration, Monday, at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) after their NEC meeting held at Olabisi Onabanjo University, Ago Iwoye, Ogun State.
Speaking to news men, he said: "We are embarking on indefinite strike nation wide because the Federal Government reneged in the Memorandum of Understanding MoU signed with ASUU in 2009 to pay lecturers their earn allowance."
According to Fagge, the Federal Government, in 2009 made a law to pay each lecturers N12,500 per month as earn allowance which it never did since 2009.

I warned President Goodluck Jonathan that people would make the country ungovernable for him, but people said I was a prophet of doom. Is it not happening now? Feminist Activists Go Topless Inside Swedish Mosque
Three feminist activists from Femen, a radical protest group staged a topless protest inside a Stockholm mosque Saturday before the police led them away.
The women stormed the mosques and tore off their black robes showing their bare breasts on which were such slogans as “No sharia in Egypt and the world” and “My body is mine, not somebody’s honour”.

Ondo Prison Break: 175 Inmates Escape
Tunde Olayiwola the Controller of Prisons in Ondo State used guns and explosives to break the prison wall through which the inmates escaped.
This happened at 12.05am when about 30 gunmen attacked the prison shooting sporadically, with bullets going through the fortified walls, gates, and floors.
The prison built in 1989 is supposed to accommodate a total of 160 inmates.

Pastor Kumuyi's Son Apologises To Deeper-Life Church Over Wedding Controversy
So there you have it! John and Love Kumuyi whose wedding has generated lots of controversies has just tendered their apology to the church. He has apologized for peace' sake!
According to reports, a video of the apology will be released soon. New findings however reveal that the church in Jamaica has some doctrinal disparity with the church in Nigeria and two, the G.S, Kumyi, was persuaded by leaders to attend the wedding because he initially didn't want to and three, the newly wed couple have been placed on disciplinary measures!
