Beyoncé announces Destiny's Child are set to release first original song in eight years
She's set to perform on one of the world's biggest stages when she will no doubt put on the greatest show on earth during the 2013 Super Bowl. And as if that wasn't enough it was also confirmed that Beyoncé has been chosen to sing the National Anthem at President Obama's Inauguration.
But adding a hat-trick to what is set to be a big year for the 31-year-old she announced on Thursday that Destiny's Child will be releasing new music at the end of January.
Making the shock revelation on her website the singer wrote: 'I am so proud to announce the first original Destiny's Child music in eight years! - Beyoncé'. The album which is entitled, Love Songs is set to hit store on Tuesday January 29, just four days before her halftime performance at the Super Bowl XLVII.
Love Songs will be a compilation record which features only one new track called Nuclear, which was co-written by Michelle Williams and produced by The Neptunes' Pharrell Williams. Smouldering on the simple monochrome cover of the album, Beyoncé and her band mates Kelly Rowland, 31, and Williams, 32, stuns as they each wear a wide brimmed hat.
All opting for smokey eyes, the Grammy Award-winning trio look like their ready to reclaim their spot at the top of the charts as they sternly gaze into the camera lens.
Taking the spot on the centre of the album artwork, Miss Rowland shows off her toned back in a laced up top as she turns away from the photographer as Williams and Knowles look head on.
Destiny's Child announced their first hiatus in late 2000 before regrouping in 2004 when they released their last studio album Destiny Fulfilled before dismembering again in 2006 to focus on their individual projects.

Nigerian Punches White Woman After She Calls Him 'Smelly Nigerian'
Violence erupts on the London Underground after an argument between a white woman and a black teenager gets out of hand. Video footage captured on a mobile phone shows the pair arguing after the woman accused the man of stepping on her foot. The two exchange insults, with the woman calling him a 'smelly Nigerian' before he calls her a 'white princess'. As the argument escalates, the man stands over her and is seen throwing punches at her before other passengers drag him off her as he accuses her of hitting him with a bottle.(See video above)

EFCC arrests former CBN governor, Charles Soludo
He was picked up from his Abuja residence a source in EFCC confirmed.
Vanguard gathered that Soludo's arrest was in connection with the controversial contract he awarded for the printing of polymer currency notes to an Australian firm while he was governor of the CBN between 2006 and 2008.
It was not clear as at the time of filing the report if the operatives would release the former Anambra State Peoples Democratic Party governorship candidate.

Morgan Entertainment Boss Adopts Son of Late MC Loph
Morgan Entertainment boss, Emeka Morgan Oguejiofor (late MC Loph's Record Label) has adopted Obiajulu Jnr, the only son of Loph. And by virtue of that, he is now responsible for the boy's upkeep and total upbringing. Here is what he said:

Fans React to Veteran Broadcaster Ayo Omotosho Death
The news broke this afternoon in Akure. The circumstances of his death remained sketchy as at press time.
Ayo Omotosho belongs to the first generation of newscasters in Ondo State. He was notable for his baritone voice and innovative approach to broadcasting. He mentored many of the reigning television and radio stars and was particularly noted for his capability to inspire them on the job.
Ayo Omotosho was the first Director General of the first FM station in Ondo State where he motivated his staff to secure external finance for the building of an administrative block for the station without government spending a dime. He also served in the past as Special Assistant to Governor Adebayo Adefarati on Corporate Affairs.
He will be sourly missed by many.

Sony Unveils Waterproof Xperia Z Phone
Sony has announced a new smartphone that can be used in the shower or bath without the risk of damage, reports BBC News. The Xperia Z can also record HDR (high dynamic range) video, a facility borrowed from its camera division. The Android-powered device was unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
The handset has a 5in (12.7cm) screen and is said to be capable of being submerged in water of up to one metre (3.3 ft) in depth for 30 minutes. It features a 13 megapixel camera and 4G LTE data connectivity, a Micro SD slot, and a 1080p x 1920p high-definition screen that borrows technology from Sony’s Bravia TV division to enhance video playback.

Lagos socialite Princewill Ojukwu claims Don Jazzy told thugs to brutalize him
Popular Lagos socialite and former manager of Auto Lounge Nite Club, Princewill Ojukwu, is accusing ace music producer Don Jazzy of sending thugs to beat him up, this is according to an exclusive report by Stella Dimoko Korkus.
Princewill is alleging in a petition to the IG of Police, that on Friday December 21st, Don Jazzy asked his thugs to 'take his life' after he and the music producer exchanged words at Jazzy's night club, Pop, situated in Victoria Island.
Princewill claimed he was brutally beaten and stripped naked under the supervision of Don Jazzy and he suffered blunt force trauma to the eye, face and body. Sounds insane!
Princewill is also claiming that Don Jazzy sent a text to him some days back apologizing for the beating and asking for an account to send money for hospital bill but he says he's not interested.
'Its not about the money' Ojukwu told Dimoko 'this could happen to anyone, it is abuse of power and needs to be checked before someone is killed all in the name of the other being a celebrity. Don Jazzy stood there pinging on his blackberry as his thugs beat me up, that is the last thing I remember before I fainted....''
Weeks after the beating, Princewill says he cannot wear shoes, still walks around in pain and has constant migraine. He said he reported the case at the Bar Beach police station but no arrest was ever made.
