#CODED-ish News:: Benue State Governor Plays The Role Of A Best Man At A Cook's Wedding(PHOTO)

Peter Anyiman an indigene of Benue State was lucky enough to have his State Governor as his best man at his wedding last Saturday. The Governor said Mr Peter is a very diligent man who deserves to be honoured. According to him, Mr Peter who is a cook, serving Catholic Priest, Rev. Father Michael Tumba in Abuja had demonstrated a true commitment to his duties for 18 years and deserved to be honoured. Just like a best man would do, he helped the groom to adjust his tie and also cleaned his face at intervals.

#CODED-ish News::Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran Couple Up in LA Club

Chris Brown and Karrueche Tran seem to be back on and going strong.

After they were snapped embracing at the "Love More" crooner's latest music video shoot last month, the on-again, off-again duo was spotted leaving Los Angeles club Icon after Chris hosted a party for Power 106-FM radio host Big Boy.

Chris left the club rocking a black baseball cap, white t-shirt and khaki pants, and Karrueche soon followed behind him, sporting short ripped denim shorts and a black crop top.
And this was just the latest sighting of the pair.

Around the time they were spotted at Chris's video shoot in Hawaii, Karrueche posted a photo of them canoodling during the trip on her Instagram page with the caption, "Aloha."
And where's Rihannain all of this?

The singer is headed to Singapore following her "Diamonds" world tour performance in the Philippines, but she appeared to take a shot at Karrueche not too long after the model made it clear that she and Chris had rekindled their romance.

According to Global Grind, Rihanna's cousin Leandra reposted a photo of Karrueche with a new braided hairdo and made fun of it, and Rihanna seemed to get in on the gaffe.

"My b-tchez funny, but my n–gaaaazzzz?????! LOL #messy#aintsh-t#humpday," Rihanna tweeted soon after it was posted, followed by, "Bwaaahaaaaa!!!! Yo I LOVE my friends ya c-nt!!!"

Rihanna and Chris Brown parted ways earlier this year, with Chris confirming the splitin a radio interview with The Kyle and Jackie Show.

"I can't be focused on wife-ing someone that young. I need to the best Chris Brown I can be," he said.

Benue State governor Gabriel Suswam served as best man for a cook named Peter Anyiman at his wedding which held over the weekend at Our Lady Perpetual Help Cathedral, in Makurdi, Benue State.

Governor Suswan told guests at the wedding that he decided to serve as Anyiman's best man to honour him because of his commitment to his job. Anyiman has been as serving a cook for Catholic Priest, Rev. Father Michael Tumba in Abuja for over 18 years.

Anyiman expressed his delight at having his own state governor serving as his best man, saying he couldn't have wished for a better wedding gift.

#CODED-ish News: VP Sambo Takes Over Government’s Negotiation With ASUU

ASUU has been on strike since June 30.
The Vice President Namadi Sambo has, in a bid to end the continuous gridlock in the dialogue between the Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU and federal government, taken over the negotiation process.

The government's negotiation team was formerly headed by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Pius Anyim.

For the first time since the commencement of the over 10-week-old strike action by the union, the Vice President met with the leadership of the union at the Presidential Villa on Thursday.
The meeting was held behind closed doors.
Nigerian Universities have been shut down since June 30 as a result of federal government's failure to honour an agreement signed between it and ASUU in 2009 bothering on issues of university funding and improvement of infrastructure in the sector.

Speaking to journalists at the Presidential Villa after the closed door meeting, the ASUU President, Nasir Fagge, said that he was taking back a "message given to him at the meeting for his members" and that Nigerians would have to wait for the response of his members on the way forward.

#CODED-ish News: Eddie Kaye Thomas 'American Pie' knife Threat Ordered To Stay Away

"American Pie" star Eddie Kaye Thomas is safe for now -- the chick who pulled a knife on the actor inside his home back in April has been ordered to stay at least 100 yards away from him at all times.

As we reported, Eddie had met 31-year-old Roxanna Bear at Mel's Diner in L.A. just 24 hours before the knife incident and brought her home.

The following afternoon, she allegedly flipped and threatened him with the knife ... and Eddie ran out of the house to call police. Bear then barricaded herself inside, until cops eventually smoked her out (with tear gas) and arrested her.

She has been in jail since, but was just released after finally seeing a judge (so much for a speedy trial).She pled guilty to a charge of felony vandalism for trashing Eddie's home, and the remaining counts against her -- including the knife threatening thing -- were dismissed.Bear was sentenced to 312 days in jail for the crime, but was given credit for time served (156 days) due to good behavior.

She was also sentenced to 3 years formal probation, and was ordered to complete a 52-week psychiatric counseling program.She was also ordered to stay 100 yards away from Eddie and his house for the next three years.

#CODED-ish News: TWO CHINESE ARRAIGNED FOR ATTEMPTING TO RAPE NIGERIAN GIRL

Two chinese men, Chen Gang, 47 and Zhao Weidong, 31, have been arraigned at the Ebute Meta Magistrate's Court, Lagos State, for allegedly conspiring to rape a 20-year-old Nigerian lady, Oluchi Chukwuemeka.

The incident was said to have happened at Railway Compound in the Ebute Meta area of Lagos.
The men were said to be employees of a popular Chiense construction firm, China Civil Engineering Construction Company.

Our correspondent learnt that Chen Gang was the chief cook of the company, while Chukwuemeka was his assistant. He was said to have made several sexual overtures to the girl who ignored them.
When the pressures became much, Chukwuemeka was said to have reported the harassment to the policemen guarding the company.

Things came to a head on the night of September 15, 2013, when Chukwuemeka, who was on a salary of N24,000 per month, was allegedly lured into the store by Gang. As the victim entered the store, thinking she was being sent on a genuine assignment, she was said to have been followed by the defendant.

He allegedly locked the door and began to forcefully unbutton the 20-year-old dress and pull down her trousers. The girl, however, began shouting, which drew the attention of people nearby, including the policemen. The second defendant, Weidong, was said to have rushed to the store and seized the girl's phone. He allegedly dumped it in the toilet.

One of the policemen, however, ran after him and recovered the phone in the water closet.
Both men were arrested and arraigned on Wednesday on seven counts of attempted rape, sexual harassment, indecent assault, perversion of justice and willful damage of Chukwuemeka's handset.
The charge read in part, "That you, Chen Gang, on the 15th day of September, 2013, at about 8pm at China Civil Engineering Constructing Company, Federal Road, Railway Compound, Ebute Meta, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did attempt to rape one Oluchi Chukwuemeka.

"That you, Chen Gang, on the same date, place and time, in the aforesaid Magisterial District, did sexually harassed one Oluchi Chukwuemeka by struggling with her in an attempt to have unlawful carnal knowledge of her. "That you, Zhao Weidong, on the same date, time and place in the aforesaid magisterial district did willfully destroy a Nokia-200 handset by throwing it into the toilet, property of one Oluchi Chukwuemeka."

The prosecutor, Inspector Moses Uaedmuvbo, said the offences were punishable under Sections 260, 262, 134(2), 170, 91, 97, 348 of the Criminal Code Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011.
Gang and Weidong pleaded not guilty.

The defence counsel, Fidelis Osordi, pleaded that the accused be granted bail in liberal terms.
The magistrate, Mrs. M.O Tanimola, admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of 100,000 with two responsible sureties who must be gainfully employed with evidence of tax payment. The matter was adjourned till October 17.

As of the time our correspondent left the court, the defendants were still in police custody, while a Black Maria had been brought to convey them to the Ikoyi Prison.

#CODED-ish News: Town Banning Twerking Story Is Fake-CONFIRMED!!!

The quiet little town of DeQuincy, Louisiana has been a beacon for ridiculous stories recently.

The latest story about the town to circulate the Internet came from press aggregator site PRLog, which put out a story from the National Report claiming that the city of DeQuincy had outlawed twerking, with a first offense warranting "30 days in the county jail," quoted to Sherrif Bobby Joe Williams.

DeQuincy "Mayor" Maynard Wilkens was also quoted in the article as saying that "Twerking is a defiant act against Jesus," but that the city "would still allow dancing in DeQuincy, just no jigglin', shakin', or 'dry humping' anywhere in our city limits.

When real DeQuincy Mayor Lawrence Henagan himself was questioned about this by The New Orleans Time-Picayune, he made it clear that "Maynard Wilkens" doesn't exist in any capacity and said this of the controversy:

It's a bunch of hogwash. There's nothing to it…Like I told the first lady (who called today), I had no idea what she was talking about. Twerking, whatever it's called, she had to tell me what it is.
This story follows two others involving the town allegedly banning Koreans from living there and issuing guns to schoolchildren, both of which came from the National Report and were also proven to be fake. Henagan believes that the same person start these rumors under different names.

It seems Twerking has actually been banned in a small town in Louisiana.

According to reports, the "dance" craze Miley Cyrus helped popularize has become a criminal offense in DeQuincy, punishable by fines and up to 30 days in jail.

And we thought the saggy pants ban (a real thing) was bad.

A criminal offense? Miley has a lot of haters, yes, but … jail?!

While Twerking can get you suspended from school or shamed by your parents . That seems extreme, no?

#CODED-ish News: RONALDINHO SPENDS £36,000 (N9.3MILLION) ON SURGERY TO CORRECT HIS DENTITION [PHOTOS]

Legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho said goodbye to his trademark buck-toothed smile sometime last month, as he underwent surgery to correct his dentition.

The 33-year-old, who currently plies his Samba skills for Atletico Mineiro, can be seen having his teeth corrected at an orthodontic clinic in Brazil.

It was reported last month that the World Cup winner had undergone surgery on his teeth, but video and pictures of the procedure have been published today.

If the glamorous presenter is to be believed the procedure will set the party-loving Brazilian back to the tune of around £36,000 – a small fortune but a sum which one of the world's previously highest earning players can no doubt afford.

Beatfm OAP Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi tweeted the announcement yesterday., The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) has instructed them not to play two songs – Wizkid ft Maleek Berry – The Matter and Phyno – 'Man of the Year.

Gbemi O.O said that if they want their songs to be played on the radio then the artistes would have to censor their songs and make a radio edit.

#CODED-ish News::21-Year Old Unilag Student Wins Muslim World Beauty Pageant

A Nigerian, Obabiyi Aisha Ajibola, tearfully prayed and recited Koranic verses as she won a world beauty pageant exclusively for Muslim women in the Indonesian capital Wednesday, a riposte to the Miss World contest that has sparked hardline anger.

The 20 finalists, who were all required to wear headscarves, put on a glittering show for the final of Muslimah World, strolling up and down a catwalk in elaborately embroidered dresses and stilettos.
But the contestants from six countries were covered from head to foot, and as well as beauty they were judged on how well they recited Koranic verses and their views on Islam in the modern world.

After a show in front of an audience of mainly religious scholars and devout Muslims, a panel of judges picked Obabiyi Aishah Ajibola from Nigeria as the winner.

Eka Shanti, who founded the pageant three years ago after losing her job as a TV news anchor for refusing to remove her headscarf, bills the contest as "Islam's answer to Miss World".
"This year we deliberately held our event just before the Miss World final to show that there are alternative role models for Muslim women," she told AFP.

Aisha received 25 million rupiah ($2,200) and trips to Mecca and India as prizes.

#CODED-ish News::Fight breaks out at House of Reps as new PDP meets lawmakers

A meeting between the seven governors of the new Peoples Democratic Party faction, and members of the House of Representatives has ended after fighting broke out.

The governors, alongside the chairman of the faction, Abubakar Baraje, met first with senate president, David Mark. A follow up meeting at the House of Representatives with Speaker Aminu Tambuwal, and members of the House, degenerated into chaos with supporters of the Bamanga Tukur-led PDP jeering at remarks made by Mr Baraje.

The chaos soon escalated after two members, Dagogo Peterside and Henry Ofongo, from Rivers and Bayelsa states respectively, went up against each other.

Mr. Baraje told Mr. Mark that President Goodluck Jonathan must give up his ambition for a new term.

#CODED-ish News: University Graduate drags NYSC to court for not mobilizing him for service

A university graduate, Terna Tarka, on Tuesday filed a suit at a Federal High Court, Lagos, challenging alleged denial of mobilization for national service by the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Tarka, through his counsel, Mr Adekunle Oyesanya (SAN), is praying the court for a declaration that the act of the defendant (NYSC) is unlawful, ultra vires and a violation of the NYSC Act, Cap. 84, Laws of the Federation. The plaintiff is also claiming N5 million as exemplary damages for alleged “oppressive and unwarranted act’’.

Joined as second and third defendants in the suit are the Chairman, NYSC Board and the Minister of Education. At the hearing of the case on Tuesday, counsel to the defendants, Mr Peter Owuru, informed the court that he had “front loaded’’ his written addresses to ensure speedy hearing of the suit.

In his response, Oyesanya, challenged the submission of defence counsel, saying written addresses are unnecessary. In a short ruling, Justice Mohammed Idris, adjourned the case to Oct. 22 for hearing.

The plaintiff, in his originating summons, had prayed the court to determine whether the denial on account of his inability to obtain five credits in his WASCE result including Mathematics, was lawful.
In a 25-paragraph affidavit, the plaintiff averred that he obtained two credits and four passes in a WAEC-conducted examination he wrote in Nigeria in 1999 before he proceeded to the United Kingdom.

Pastor William Kumuyi, General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry has disowned the controversial videos of a ‘prophetess’ and others who claimed to have died, gone to heaven and came back to narrate their extra-terrestrial experience.

In the controversial videos being sold all over Nigeria, two women and a boy claimed they died, went to heaven and came back to narrate what they said God showed them. WATCH IT HERE

One of such CDs is that of a Sierra Leonean woman, simply called Sister Linda Ngaujah. Linda said she died and was shown happenings in heaven and hell and that many of the members of a large church on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway are on their way to hell and that the founder of a leading church in Lagos should repent as he allegedly acquired his powers from the devil, saying that a Bishop of another large congregation and his members are not even recognized in heaven.

CODED-ish News: 9ice Gains Admission To Study Law

One time A-list artiste in Nigeria, Abolore Adigun well known as 9ice, has gained admission into the university to study law. The talented singer, who has been battling with a nose-diving music career, disclosed this to a national daily newspaper, Tribune in an interview.

9ice told the paper that he is presently a student of Capella University, Minnesota, USA, studying Public Safety and Common Law. He however stated that he is running the school's online programme.

According to him, "I am already in school studying Public Safety and Common Law at Capella University. It is an online programme. I can't think of any other course except Law."

The singer reportedly left the Lagos State University (LASU) in 2006, where he was then studying Law. It was at that time he gained fame with hit his hit song, 'Ganja' and later with 'Gongo Aso'.

MTV announced yesterday, September 17, 2013 the nominees for the "2013 MTV EMA," the world's annual music awards show that celebrates the year's hottest artists from around the globe.

Obianuju Catherine Udeh popularly known as Dj Switch was crowned the Glo X factor winner last night with 24million Naira which is equivalent to 150,000 U.S Dollars and a recording contract with SONY music.

29-year-old rapper Obianuju adopted the stage name DJ Switch because of her versatility and ability to switch from one thing to another. She is from Udi, Enugu State, and studied Geology at the University of Port Harcourt. She worked briefly with Halliburton and is now a professional DJ.

#CODED-ish News: FG agrees to meet poly lecturers’ demands

The Federal Government on Monday met with the leadership of the Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics behind closed doors and agreed to meet the demands of the union.

The Minister of State for Education, Nyesom Wike, and the Labour Minister, Emeka Wogu co-chaired the meeting while ASUP President, Chibuzo Asomugha, led the union team.

None of the parties, however, spoke with journalists after the brief meeting held at the Federal Ministry of Education in Abuja.

However, a source at the meeting, who confided in our correspondent, said the union obtained a strong commitment from the government.

He said, "The union tabled three key issues at the meeting. One is the need to constitute the governing councils of the remaining seven polytechnics. Wike was said to have informed the union that the Federal Government had agreed to constitute the remaining governing councils. He promised that the list would be out by this week and the union was happy about it.

Oyo State Police Command has arrested a man (names withheld) for allegedly raping a girl in Oluyole area of Ibadan.

He was said to have been caught raping the girl in a bush.

9jagista gathered that the suspect allegedly lured the girl into the bush before forcefully having canal knowledge of her, while the victim was said to be shouting for help.
The cry reportedly drew the attention of her father, who rushed to the scene and caught the man in the act.

Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Olabisi Clet-Ilobanafor, confirmed the story.
She said: "The father of the victim, who reported the crime, said he heard his daughter screaming in a nearby bush and that when he rushed there, he saw the suspect on top of his daughter, having canal knowledge of the victim by force.
"The father said he saw the suspect holding the girl by the neck."

After rescuing the victim, the suspect was arrested and taken to the State Criminal Investigation Department, SCID.
She said the state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Mohammed Indabawa, had directed that the case be immediately charged to court like other rape cases.

Atlanta police have arrested rapper Gucci Mane on weapons and drug charges.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution () and WSB-TV said an Atlanta police report shows officers responded to a call shortly before 1 a.m.

Saturday in southwest Atlanta from a friend of the rapper who was concerned about his behavior. The police report said Gucci Mane, whose real name is Radric Davis, became "increasingly agitated with officers and began cursing and threatening them."

The report said the spring breakers actor was checked out at an Atlanta hospital and charged with carrying a concealed weapon, disorderly conduct and marijuana possession.

Davis was indicted in April on an assault charge involving an incident at an Atlanta nightclub. He pleaded not guilty.

Davis released his eighth studio album, Trap House III, in May.

#CODED-ish News: Four men killed by thunder and lightning in Nasarawa

Four persons were killed on Friday when lightning struck at Mechanic Village in Lafia Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. An eyewitness said that the incident occurred at Bukan-Sidi around 7:05 p.m. when the four men were about leaving their workshop following a downpour.

According to the eyewitness, when the deceased noticed that it was about to rain, they decided to lock up their workshop and go home, but before they could leave the workshop thunder struck.

The bodies of the victims have been deposited at the Dahaltu Araf Specialist Hospital in Lafia.
When contacted on telephone, the Deputy Police Public Relations Officer in the Police Command in the State, ASP Cornelious Ocholi, confirmed the story.
