#CODED-ish News:: ...This also didn't happen in Nigeria. + Are foreign troops in Nigeria?
Also, you can see in all the pics floating online, from the uniforms, the African soldiers taking notes from American forces are from Uganda and Somalia. Military aid has been in Africa for sometime under AFRICOM to help train our military.
Now to the second issue; are there foreign troops in Nigeria? There are reports this morning that the Special Forces of the US Marines have sited the abducted Chibok Girls in Sambisa Forest...this report is hard to believe because the Pentagon, the UK and France made it clear that they are only providing intelligence service (intel & surveillance technology) to work with the Nigerian military..for now!
Also yesterday CNN said US intelligence made claims that the girls are not in a single location, so how come they've now been sited at Sambisa Forest? Even if US intelligence analysts were able to find the location, will they share the info with the media before the girls are rescued? So officially there are no foreign troops in Nigeria for now, except the foreign government is lying to the media about the kind of help they are providing and really sending troops.
CODED-ish News: NYSC Members Will Henceforth Collect Their Mobilisation Call-up Letters Online
will henceforth collect their mobilisation call-up letters for orientation online.
The exercise is aimed at alleviating prospective corps’ members from traveling from their states of domicile after graduation to their schools in order to collect the call-up letters.
Director-Genera l, DG, of the NYSC, Brig.-Gen. Johnson Olawumi, gave the hint yesterday, during the pre-mobilisation seminar in preparation for 2014 Batch B in Enugu.
Oluwumi said: “It is for automation for mobilisation process for NYSC. The mobilisation process will be done through automation that a graduate from a school in Sokoto, for example, would not have to go to Sokoto to collect his call-up letter. All that will be done online.”
He also said that the agency was widening its scope of primary assignment from the four key
areas of posting corps members to accommodate other sectors so as to reduce the rate of rejection of corps members.
He listed the new areas to include the banking sector, Oil and Gas, Telecommunication, among
others. Oluwumi stated that because of insecurity in some states of the North- East where there is emergency rule, the NYSC does not post corps members to states, except on demand.
The workshop tagged, “Consolidating Effective Strategies for a Credible Mobilisation process”, is expected to provide a platform for interfacing between NYSC and corps producing institutions geared towards re-engineering the scheme for optimum operations.
Addressing the participants, Gen. Olawumi said, "The management will leave no stone unturned to ensure that the vast human resources at the disposal of the scheme is appropriately deployed to all areas of need within the state.
BREAKING NEWS: American Marines Locate Abducted Girls In Sambisa Forest
The girls who were abducted on April 14, were part of the 250 students boarded at the school for the West African School Certificate, WASC/ Senior Secondary School Certificate, SSSC, examinations, triggering world-wide condemnations.
This was even as more US military officials arrived Nigeria yesterday to join local officials in the search for nearly 300 school girls taken captives by the Islamist extremist group, Boko Haram, the US Secretary of State John Kerry, and the defence department, Pentagon, said.
The UK team had earlier arrived in Abuja to support Nigerian government in its response to the abduction of over 200 school girls.
The arrival of the foreign troops is coming on the heels of the appeal yesterday by the former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar for Nigerians to unite and fight the insurgents to achieve success.
The abduction of the school girls on April 14 in a remote community in Borno State, one of the most shocking terrorist acts by Boko Haram yet, has drawn widespread anger around the world with calls for a swift action.
President Goodluck Jonathan said Thursday that the kidnapping will be “the beginning of end” of Boko Haram.
US President Obama has said he hopes the abduction by Boko Haram will galvanize the international community to act against the brutal group that has directed much of its cruelty on civilians and the innocent.
This week, more than 100 people were killed in a busy market by militants suspected to be from the group. The attack occurred in Gamboru Ngala, Borno State, near the Nigerian border with Cameroun.
Besides the United States, Britain, France and China have also offered to help rescue the stolen girls. Obama said the team sent to Nigeria comprised personnel from military, law enforcement and other agencies.
France said it will station 3,000 troops in Nigeria’s neighbouring countries to help fight militants in the Sahel region.
British satellites and advanced tracking capabilities also will be used, and China has promised to provide any intelligence gathered by its satellite network.
Meanwhile in a statement yesterday, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office spokesperson said, “a team of UK experts who will advise and support the Nigerian authorities in its response to the abduction of over 200 school girls touched down in Abuja, Nigeria this morning”.
The team is drawn from across government, including DfID, FCO and the MoD, and will work with the Nigerian authorities leading on the abductions and terrorism in Nigeria. The team will be considering not just the recent incidents but also longer-term counter-terrorism solutions to prevent such attacks in the future and defeat Boko Haram.
The team will be working closely with their US counterparts and others to coordinate efforts.

When asked, maybe his relocation would discourage his young followers, he said:"I have been diagnosed with hypertension, so I should stay here and die because I want to impress people? It isn't about people anymore.
It is now about me and my health. I have proven that certain things can be done in this country but you have to use blood and sweat. All the projects I have done, I have had to use these two.
For me to achieve this, whoever is ready to use blood and sweat too might be able to achieve same feat. But we don't have the same strength. Right now I am overwhelmed in a way and I can function from anywhere.
I can go to Hollywood and be lecturing African cinema or go to Gambia and be making film or move to Ghana. I love this country which is why I am still here.
I discourage people form traveling abroad but health is wealth. I think it is important that I am in the right frame of mind for health reasons" he said.

Brig.-Gen. Enang Ukagu, Commander of Amphibious Training School (ATS), Calabar, who made this known to journalists said the training commenced on April 17, and ended on Thursday.
He said the soldiers were trained on fire team formation, use of micro terrain, preparation for combat, mission planning, shooting position, casualty evacuation, among others.
Ukagu, while speaking at the grand finale said the objective of the training was to equip ATS personnel with basic concept of amphibious and riverine operations.
He said that the exercise provided the officers with high level military intelligence and knowledge of combating sea piracy and other forms of illegalities in riverine areas.
"The objective of the training has been achieved and the soldiers are now combat ready to engage in any warfare with the enemy in riverine areas" he said. "The U.S Marine Corps Africa has added value to the capacity building of the Nigerian Army, especially in amphibious and riverine operations. I must commend the graduating soldiers for having gone through the three weeks intensive and rigorous training; may your efforts never be in vain".
Ukagu thanked the Chief of Army Staff, Lt.-Gen. Kenneth Minimah, for the training, saying he did not only approve it but provided funds for the exercise.
Minimah, who was represented by Maj.-Gen. Bamidele Ologundudu, Director of Training, Army Headquarters, Abuja, said the Nigerian Army under his leadership was making tremendous effort in addressing security challenges in the country.
He said that the collaborative training was designed to equip the soldiers to tackle those challenges.
"Over the past decades, a few challenges facing the nation have been a threat to oil exploration and economic activities in the Niger Delta area" he said. "This is as a result of the activities of criminals, and some misguided elements".
Minimah said that the success of deployment of soldiers to curtail insecurity in the area was dependent on effective training of personnel.
Capt. Peter Kennedy, leader of the U.S Marine, commended the Nigerian Army for their discipline and hard work.
Kennedy said he looked forward to more training partnership between the U.S Marine and the Nigerian Army.
A cross section of soldiers who participated in the exercise, lauded the exercise, saying that the knowledge they gained would help them in combating illegalities in riverine area.

#CODED-ish News::Sodom And Gomorrah In Lagos Where Women Dance Naked
In some cases the girls engage in anal sex in the open with these clients who are mostly men in their 30s and 40s, including expatriates.
Investigation reveals that no fewer than two of every 10 hotels in Lagos State contracts strippers to dance naked before their customers full-time and sometimes on part-time basis and the most notorious areas known for this practice are Ikeja, Victoria Island, Apapa, Lekki-Ajah and Ajao Estate.
Allen Avenue in Ikeja has become the the Sodom and Gomorrah of Nigeria where sex, drugs and money are the business of the night as hundreds of girls besiege the hotels and pubs in the area to 'catch fun' especially at weekends.
Every Saturday night, between 9.00 pm and midnight along Allen Avenue opposite Sweet Sensation eatery bus-stop, it is another face of debauchery as men and women line up in front of a prominent hotel that has neon light sign indicator to the entrance of the nude club.
In Ire-Akari area of Isolo, exclusive hotels which harbour strip clubs compete with churches for attention.
Entrance fee to many of the strip clubs on Allen Avenue costs N2000 and a customer is expected to buy drinks, which are equally expensive. The cheapest drink in the nude club is N1000, whether it is beer or energy drink, while the wine goes for as much as N10,000.
Inside the building, the sex hawkers in their bikinis and provocative attires swarm like bees at the sight of any man, beaming with welcome smiles, all in an effort to get attention. As the music begins to blare, one can see the girls giggling and swaying to the tunes. The strippers take turns to entertain the guests. There is no dull moment in the clubs as girls with keep moving in and out of their inner chamber to reinforce their strategies to seduce men for sex.
Some of the men who get aroused move behind the centre stage and engage in sexual acts with the girls for a fee usually between N1,000 and N5,000.
The scenes at the night clubs are bizarre and reprehensible.

#CODED-ish Gist:: Mother clings to moving vehicle to rescue child
The abductors had pushed the 23-year-old woman out of the moving vehicle, but she held on to her daughter and was dragged on the tarred road for some distance before the kidnapping was aborted by security operatives.
The incident happened by the Eburutu Army Barracks along the busy Murtala Mohammed Highway in Calabar, the Cross River State capital.
Narrating her ordeal at the Police Clinic in Calabar, where she and her daughter received medical attention from bruises sustained during the incident, Priscilla said she boarded the taxi, a Volkswagen Jetta, at the Pyramid Hotel Bus Stop along the highway with another unidentified woman who was carrying a male child.
She said shortly afterwards, the taxi stopped to pick two men, who on entering the vehicle demanded the babies in the vehicle.
Priscilla said, “I entered a taxi at Pyramid Hotel Bus Stop on a journey to my village, Idoma, in the Biase Local Government Area. Another lady was also in the vehicle with her son, but when we got to the Army Barracks junction, two men joined us.We thought they were passengers, but as soon as they got in, they started dragging our babies with us.
“I was sitting in the front with the driver, while the other woman was sitting at the
back with her baby too. The two men sat at the back and while one of them was dragging the other woman’s baby (a boy), the other man was also dragging my daughter.
“The luck I had was that I strapped my baby in a tummy-carrier and the man struggled to remove the baby inside the carrier. He succeeded in removing my baby’s hand from the carrier and she started crying. He almost pulled my baby’s hand off, so I shouted for help.
“He then pushed me out of the vehicle, but I held on to my baby. The vehicle dragged me on the road from the Army Barracks junction to Sampet Filling Station, a distance of about 500 metres, before some security agents intervened. They caught the man who was trying to snatch my baby and took him to the Federal Housing Police Station. I don’t know where the others weothThe state Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Hogan Bassey, said the taxi driver and other accomplices escaped, while a suspect, Victor Edem-Bassey, was arrested and was being detained at the headquarters of the Cross River State Police Command in Calabar.
Edem-Bassey told PUNCH Metro that the harsh economic realities forced him into stealing children.
Edem-Bassey (30) from the Akpabuyo Local Government Area of the
state, said he was introduced to the business by a friend, named Essien.
It was gathered that Edem-Bassey and his fleeing accomplices pretended to be passengers while another co-conspirator posed as a commercial driver.
Edem-Bassey said they were to take the stolen children to one Albertino who was introduced to him by Essien around the Eight-Miles area of the the Calabar metropolis.
The suspect, who claimed he had a 13-year-old son, said he was a taxi driver, but lost his job after he fell sick.
He said, “I fell sick and the owner of the car I was driving collected it from me. After he collected it, there was no money to survive. Essien came to me and told me about this business. He said he would take me to his boss who would help me.
“He then introduced me to a man called Albertino, who said he would solve all my problems if I bring babies to him. He did not say he would pay me anything but he promised to solve all my problems. I met him in a joint at Eight Miles, but I don’t know where he lives. He was driving a jeep. I met him at the Old Market Road. He told me to bring the babies to him.”
It was gathered that the police had arrested Essien, and was being detained at the command headquarters.
The PPRO said the arrest would aid the police in unravelling the mystery of child stealing in the state, adding that it was obvious that the suspects were kingpins.

#CODED-ish News::CAN Reveals A 'List' With 178 Names Of Abducted GGSS Chibok Female Students
Evangelist Matthew Owojaiye of the Old Time Revival Hour Church in Kaduna has published the list of 178 abducted students, out of them 163 Christian girls and only 15 Muslim girls.
The names were given as an attachment to his statement titled "Abomination! Abomination!! Christian girls abducted in Chibok, Borno state".
The author of the statement, who is the immediate-past chairman of Northern States Christian and Elders Forum (NOCSEF), an affiliate of CAN, did not name his source, so it was not possible to authenticate it. What also brought confusion is the incomplete number of missing students, if we recall previous statements from both the parents and the government, which put the number of abducted girls from 234 to 276.
"Daughters of Zion taken captive, to be treated as slaves and sold into marriage to unclean people. Abomination has been committed," Owojaiye said in the statement.
He further warned that "ordinary" military approach may be unable to solve the problem of securing their return, but that "intensive agonizing" prayer will.
On the subject of post-recovery, he demanded that the Federal Government, whose duty was to protect the innocent girls, should pay N50million in trauma compensation to each girl.
In addition, he demanded preparation to take each girl to foreign universities on government scholarship by September 2014, and the transfer of the SS1 and SS2 girls in the school to schools of their choice, at the expense of the government.
"Chibok Local Government is 90% Christians. Majority of the girls abducted are Christian! Why did Boko Haram visit Chibok Local Government? Why didn't they visit so many other Local Government Girls Secondary Schools in Borno State?" the author of the statement asked.
The names of the Christians among the abducted girls, according to CAN, are:

What is your name?
Sawok: My name is Amina Sawok.
Walse: My name is Thabita Walse.
Can you describe the attack on your school?
Sawok: We were in the hostel. One of the men dressed in military camouflage asked us where our dining hall was. From our hostels, they took us to the dining hall and from there, we were moved into the waiting vehicles and they headed towards Damboa town. The incident happened around 11pm.
Walse: It is a long story. They came to our school and deceived us into believing they were soldiers. They were dressed in military uniform and made us believe they were about rescuing us only for us to later find out that they were insurgents. When we discovered, it was already too late and there was little we could do.
At what point did you know they were not real soldiers but insurgents?
Sawok: They were shouting and rude. That was when it became clear to us that they were insurgents, then they started shooting and set our school on fire. They even shot the security men guarding the school.
How did you escape?
Sawok: I jumped out of the vehicle that looked like a truck.
Walse: Our vehicle developed a problem and they were forced to stop. I took the opportunity with some girls to run into a dark bush.
What gave you the courage to jump out of the vehicle?
Sawok: I have heard a lot about Boko Haram, the bad things they do and how they have killed many people in the state. I was afraid and I became desperate. I felt getting to their camp could be dangerous for me and it would be better if I escaped. That gave me the courage to jump out. I believed that I would only get injured since it was dark and they may not know how to look for me in the bush.
Did all the girls that escaped plan it?
Sawok: No, I believe the same thing was running through our minds. Immediately one of us jumped out, the rest of us just started following her.
Do you have any injury?
Sawok: No, I am very fine.
How do you feel about the others that were not able to escape?
Sawok: I would have loved all of us to escape. I can't celebrate my escape because some of my friends and classmates are still in the hands of the insurgents and I don't know what they are facing. It is my prayer that they should be freed.
Walse: I have no problem, I am okay and very strong physically. The only problem I have is that some of my friends are still held hostage by terrorists.
