Wizkid was involved in an accident around 3: 30am this morning in front of GET Arena as he left the Nokia Lumia Beat party which held at the Oriental Hotel in Lekki. Fortunately, the only thing damaged in the accident was the Porsche Panamera S car worth about N10m which he recently bought. Wizkid and other passengers in the car were unhurt.
According to my paparazzi who witnessed the accident and took the photos, the accident was caused by a burst tyre. Wizkid, who wasn't the one driving, was quickly taken away in another car. His bodyguard stayed behind to get the vehicle towed. See more photos after the cut...

CRAZY: Man Invites JTF to come and Shoot his ‘Boko Haram’ son
A Maiduguri-based businessman (name withheld for security reasons) on Thursday turned in his biological son, a member of the extremistBoko Haram sect to theJoint Task Force, JTF, with an order that he should be shot dead, witnesses said.
The son, according to close family sources, had once threatened to kill his father before he fled home and returned only recently as security operatives continue to clamp down on the sect.
He was said to have returned as a prodigal son, seeking asylum in his father’s compound.
“After confessing all his crimes, including how he participated in the killing of people and looting of banks to his father, the old man said he has no such conscience to keep a killer son in his home,” said a close family member under-anonymity.

Governor Fashola Releases Fantasy Video Of Lagos
A pricey video recently released by the Lagos State government touting the state capital, Lagos, as a megacity has been described by various critics as “a myth,” “sheer fantasy,” and “a series of false representations.”
The video, which is available on youtube, offers a spruced up, non-existent image of Lagos as a safe city that – in the words of Governor Babatunde Fashola – anybody “would like to call home.” The video ostensibly made by the Lagos Internal Revenue Service also feautured the former governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu, whose Alpha Beta tax collection company reportedly makes billions of unearned income from the state coffers on a monthly basis.
The video presents a glitzy and glamorous portrait of the city of Lagos that is at odds with the experience of the vast majority of the millions of residents.

About 80% of women that are been exploited as sexual slaves are victims of human trafficking. According to a UN report, 2.4 million people across the globe are victims of human trafficking at any point in time. Trafficking is modern slavery and a violation of human right. It is a lucrative industry and it is regarded as the biggest organized crime in the world, after illegal dealing of drugs and weapons. Many of the ladies that are into prostitution were either coaxed or forced into it. Some of the victims are compelled to carter between 10-15 clients per day. Most often the use of sexual protection is negligible. The victims are at a high risk of contracting various sexually transmitted diseases and HIV/AIDS that they further pass on to the men and then their partners.

Blackberry's once exclusive elite messenger is set to garner a lot of installs from the non Blackberry users. However with Whatsapp that has already penetrated the markets deeply, it will be interesting to watch how BBM scores.
TECH NEWS: Apple's Future iPhone May Cost as Less as $99
Apple is reportedly looking at iPhones with bigger screens and will be releasing the low cost phone in a range of colors as soon as this year, the ABC News reports.
According to the report, Apple declined to comment on the rumors, but CEO Tim Cook addressed the question of larger screens last month at the All Things D conference. Cook also said the iPhone doesn't have a larger screen right now for a few reasons.
He said that a large screen today comes with a lot of tradeoffs, adding that people do look at the size, but they also look at things like if the photos show the proper color, the white balance, reflectivity, battery life, brightness, the longevity of the display.
The phone is made of a plastic casing and will come in five or six different colors. Besides releasing a cheaper model of the phone, Apple will release the iPhone 5S later this year.
It will be an update with some small additions and tweaks.

PHOTO: Four NANS Leaders Die In Auto Accident On Their Way To Uyo

The Senate President of the National Association of Nigerian Students, Donald Onukaoguu, and four other students have been killed in a road crash.
The students met their end yesterday on their way to the University of Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State, to intervene in the current crisis rocking that institution.
The lone survivor from the accident claimed that an illegal roadblock mounted by the police was responsible for the tragedy. Now he is receiving treatment at the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia.
It would be recalled that yesterday, the police killed several students during a protest organized by students of Engineering at the university. That prompted the decision of the NANS leaders to embark on the urgent trip to Akwa-Ibom.

Food Seller Goes Mad & Naked After Confessing To Using Mortuary Water To Cook Food (PHOTOS)

A woman who is the owner of a popular buka in Portharcourt confessed last Saturday to using diabolical means to entice customers, as well as take their “destinies.”
According to eye witnesses, the woman, who is from Akwa Ibom, suddenly ran mad while at her buka located at Aleto in Eleme Local Government area of Port-Harcourt, Rivers state.
They say she suddenly started acting bizarre, tore her clothes and started confessing how she employed diabolical means for the growth of her business.
In her confession, she said she mixes water used to bathe corpses with her food, as well as water from her private part and menstruation blood. She said she did all these to attract customers whose “destinies” she used for the growth of her business and riches.
She then ran around town unclad, confessing her atrocities, appearing to have lost her sanity.
The news of her confession spread around the area, and some of her customers (including Okada men) and angry onlookers descended on her and gave her the beating of her life, before Police men intervened and took her away.

Mandela Family Finally Speaks to Press About His Health Condition
The family of former President Nelson Mandela has spoken out about his health for the first time since he was rushed to hospital in the early hours of Saturday morning. In a statement issued by Zwelivelile [Mandla] Mandela, the family said they were heartened by the overwhelming messages of support from the public.
“We are fully cognizant of the fact that millions of people in the country and around the world regard Madiba as their parent and therefore are as much concerned about his well-being as we are,” the family said. Earlier, President Jacob Zuma told Parliament he was “ happy to report that Madiba is responding better to treatment from this morning”. The elder statesman has spent a fifth day in hospital in Pretoria after being admitted in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Trouble started on Wednesday afternoon when the students went on peaceful protest asking the university authorities to reverse its decision of increasing the transportation fare from the town campus to its permanent site at Nsukara Offot in the outskirts of Uyo from N100 to N200 per student per day.

Nigerian Gay Men Protest The Arrest Of Homosexuals In Anambra State
Litigants and witnesses at the Atani Chief Magistrate Court in Ogbaru local government area of Anambra State Wednesday witnessed a mild drama in the court premises as some people who claimed to be homosexuals nearly disrupted court proceedings in solidarity with two suspected homosexuals standing trial for allegedly committing same sex offence.
As early as 9 .00am, a large number of men with feminist outlook started gathering at the court premises to the surprise of the people around and it was only then that information filtered into the area that they came to identify with two of their members who were arrested by the police and charged to court for same sex violation related offence.

Composer of Nigeria's National Anthem, Benedict Odiase, passes on
The composer of Nigeria's National Anthem, Pa Benedict Odiase has passed on. Mr Odiase died last night in his sleep. He composed Arise O Compatriots” in May 1978.
Pa Odiase retired in 1992 as a Deputy Commissioner of Police after being the Director of Music with the Nigeria Police Band.

SAD NEWS: Fatai Rolling Dollar Dies at 85
Nigeria's most famous and oldest practicing musician, Pa Fatai Olayiwola Olagunju, popularly known as Fatai Rolling Dollar has reportedly passed on. He died this morning at Marritol Hospital, Sam Sonibare Street in Surulere after a brief illness. It has been in the media of late that he has been really ill. One of his wives, Funmulayo Olagunju, confirmed his death. He died at 85 years.
He is survived by three wives, including a German and 16 children. May his soul rest in peace, amen

Oyo State Plans to Launch "Ajumo'mo" Learning Tablet
Information reaching us has it that Oyo State Government is coming up with her own version of tablets for secondary schools students in the state.
We heard that the tablets which may likely be called ‘Ajumo’mo tablets’ are already in production in one of the Asian countries, and the department in charge, the ICT, are putting finishing touches to the project. We hear that it will be for higher secondary schools first before getting to other levels of education in public schools in the state.
