#CODED-ish News::Dana Plane Crash: Landlord Wants N540m For Damages

An aggrieved victim of Dana Airline plane crash that occurred on Sunday, 3 June, 2012, Pastor Omawunmi Daniel and his business venture, Thursmay Educational Service Limited, has filed a N540m suit against the airline.

Other defendants in the suit are the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority, NCAA and Prestige Assurance Plc.

In a statement of claims filed before a Federal High Court in Lagos by a Lagos-based lawyer, Mr. Dele Adeshina, SAN, on behalf of the plaintiff, Pastor Omawunmi averred that he is the owner of the four plots of land situated at 8/10, Popoola Olaniyi Street, Iju Ishaga, Lagos.

He also said that that on 3 June, 2012 at exactly 3.45 p.m., Dana Airline Model MD Douglas MJ83 aircraft crashed into his property and destroyed all his buildings and structures including personal belonging of his entire family, fish ponds, warehouses, furniture venture workshops and warehouse belonging to his company and Mrs. Nike Odunpitan.

He averred that his house is neither close to an airport, and such the plane's crash onto his property was sudden, shocking and devastating and same could not have been imagined or contemplated. Therefore, he demanded the sum of N172,530,960 from the defendant. But Dana Airline offered him N74,417,429. Therefore, the two figures were harmonized and reviewed down to N97,300,777 million.

Daniel, however, said he was paid $30,000 as cost of resettlement for himself and family, apart from the fact that he lost some finishing goods, books, doors.

Therefore, the plaintiff averred that regrettably, the conduct of the airline and Prestige Assurance, in the course of the settlement negotiations has been oppressive, inhuman and nonchalant, in total disregard for their suffering.

The plaintiff also alleged that he wrote to NCAA to prevail on Dana Airline to speedily consider and settle the claim. Similar letters were written to Nigeria President, Senate president, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Minister of Aviation, Attorney- General of the Federation, Inspector General of Police, National Human Rights Commission, Lagos State governor and Attorney-General of Lagos State but Dana Airline and Prestige Assurance have declined to grant the plaintiff claims.

Consequently, the plaintiff is claiming the following against the defendants: N207,507,608 against Dana Airline and Prestige Assurance for the loss of their properties and income, N50 million damages suffered by Pastor Omawunmi, N234,097,500 being the cost of the property destroyed by the aircraft; N28 million being loan obtained by his company, payment of N2 million every month being interest of the loan and N50 million as general damages.

Dana Airline is yet to file any defence. NCAA in its defence before the court by Barrister Bekun Sowole averred that as at the time of the crash, the airworthiness clearance issued to Dana Airline was valid.

#CODED-ish News::PHOTOS: David Beckham Escapes Mob Attack

Police had to rescue a worried David Beckham from a mob of thousands of fans yesterday as Goldenballs-mania swept Miami.

The England legend planned to watch youngsters play after announcing he's setting up his own professional team there.

But police formed a protective ring around him as it descended into chaos.

Then they whisked 38-year-old Becks to a waiting car amid fears of a deadly crush.

Local youth coach Luis Coronado said: "Unfortunately the kids got disappointed because they wanted to see Beckham. It was chaos."

Becks sent Miami into a spin with plans to build a stadium on the city's seafront and bring top players to the US league.

Internet jokers suggested calling the team Miami Vice, Miami Metrosexuals and Miami Goalphins.

Ladbrokes have his ex-teammate Paul Scholes 8-1 to be coach and his 14-year-old son Brooklyn 2-1 to play for the team.

Beckham said: "Who wouldn't want to play in Miami? I'm getting messages asking, 'When is it happening?'"

#CODED-ish News::‘Why I Think The Gay Community Should Come Out’ by Seun Kuti

I'm writing to condemn the recent anti-gay bill signed into law by our President Jonathan Goodluck.

This law - which contains penalties of up to 14 years in prison for anyone in a same-sex marriage or civil union, 10 years for anyone who attends a same-sex wedding, 10 years for anyone involved with an LGBT organization, and even 10 years for anyone who shows affection for someone of the same sex - should be cast out.

Since the law was passed, police across Nigeria have begun arresting and torturing dozens of our fellow citizens suspected of being gay.

Don't forget that in some of our states, if you are found guilty of being gay, you could be stoned to death. First of all, this law was unnecessary. There is not space in the existing constitution for gay marriage.

Our constitution is very definitive of marriage as a union between man and woman. I see the signing in of this law for what it was: a cheap shot by an under-achieving government to discriminate against people because they are different.

The president of Nigeria has a PhD, so he should understand better than most the implications of the law. Even if he couldn't stop the senate from passing the bill, he had the power to delay signing it as a way of protecting the gay community.

The President has had the Petroleum Industry Bill in front of him for years, and he and our senators have stalled on the bill calling for harsher punishment for corruption. Meanwhile, Nigeria's senate has just sanctioned pedophilia in our constitution (girls that are as young as 9 years old can continue to be married in if they are "physically developed enough" according to their parents or prospective husbands) - so this the ban on homosexuality can hardly be a so-called "moral" issue. This is simply a move for cheap political points. Meanwhile, people's lives hang in the balance.

Today I am writing this not as a fight for "gay rights", I am fighting for all rights. People should be allowed to express themselves freely and this includes their sexuality. I believe all gay people should come out and organize openly. I expect that society should allow them live their lives as they please. It's not a cultural thing - it's a sexual thing.

I have even heard people say it's Western culture imposed on us and if the West doesn't recognize polygamy we should not accept homosexuality. This is the kind of scary ignorance that this kind of law will foster. (I can say for a fact that the constitution of Nigeria does not recognize polygamy.

We have customary laws that are non-binding, but our secular courts and national constitution does not allow polygamy even though it's "our culture.") I believe in education as the answer to any problem and I know this law does not educate positively. It just criminalizes and institutionalizes hate towards the gay community.

Here's a call to action: I believe the gay community should come out! They need to put love above fear. I also believe that gay people in Africa not just Nigeria who are being targeted like this should put pressure on the West by claiming asylum in their countries. I think we are about to see a new wave of sexual refugees!

Love over fear should be the way forward.

Seun Kuti.

#CODED-ish Gist::Another Day, Another Topless Miley Cyrus Magazine Spread?(Photo)

Welp, it was just a matter of time until Miley Cyrus went completely topless for all to see. The signs were there: the pasties she wore to promote Unplugged, her Rolling Stone cover, her totally naked W cover where she uses a pillow as a coverup. The list goes on. As it turns out, Miley lost her pillow and went full-on topless—no pasties this time—for W. Fittingly, in the wee hours of the night, she tweeted a picture of her back in her bed, topless, and next to the photographers who took the portrait with the caption, "Coming soon in @wmag 'bedtime portraits by @mertalass & @macpiggott' so xxxited check it out to 2 the real deal." We can't begin to guess how the other "bedtime" portraits turned out?

Her string of killer, uncensored (see what we did there?) Bangerz Tour promotion doesn't end there. Miley also might have just gone topless in another editorial for the second time (third time? We're really starting to lose track). Leaked pictures from the March issue of Vogue Germany show Miley baring her chest for a relatively tasteful Marilyn Monroe-inspired spread where she's styled with a curly blonde bob and red lipstick. There's also towels, a sheer halter dress, and a very pinup look with a black bodysuit and fishnets. Come to think of it, Miley might be the first female pop star ever who's managed to look more elegant without clothes.

#CODED-ish News::Nemanja Vidic says he will leave Manchester United in summer

Nemanja Vidic will leave Manchester United at the end of the season, the captain stating he wants to challenge himself again. Internazionale are the favourites to sign the 32-year-old, who will move abroad as he has no wish to play for another English club.

The announcement ends eight supremely successful years at Old Trafford during which the Serb won five Premier League titles, the Champions League and three League Cups. The decision of Vidic, who with Rio Ferdinand formed one the best central defensive partnerships of the Premier League era, signals what may be the first of an exodus of senior players at the close of David Moyes's inaugural season in charge.

The futures of Ferdinand and Patrice Evra are also in the balance. As reported by the Guardian in January, Vidic's acceptance that his days at United are over will have come, in part, because of his recognition that the club were still deciding whether to offer him fresh terms on a deal that expires in the summer.

The two serious knee injuries Vidic suffered during the past three seasons significantly curtailed his playing time and made him less of a force.

Vidic may move to Italy, where Juventus, Internazionale and Fiorentina retain an interest. In a statement he said: "It's the last year of my contract and I have had eight wonderful years here. My time at this great club will always rank as the best years of my career. I never could have imagined winning 15 trophies and I will certainly never forget that fantastic night in Moscow [winning the Champions League], memories that will live with me and the fans forever.

"However, I have decided that I will move on at the end of this season. I want to challenge myself again and try to make the best of myself in the coming years. I'm not considering staying in England as the only club I ever wanted to play for here is Manchester United and I was lucky enough to be part of this club for so many years. I've got a few options to move on and I will choose the right one for me and for my family.

"I am now going to focus all my efforts on playing for Manchester United and do the best I can for the team until the end of the season."

Vidic's exit in the summer underlines the major rebuilding job Moyes has to undertake, with the Scot having been handed a mandate to do so when succeeding Sir Alex Ferguson last July.

With Wayne Rooney yet to extend a contract that ends at the end of next season and United languishing outside the Champions League places, the 20-times title winners are in their greatest state of flux in a generation.

#CODED-ish News::PHOTO: Young Man Drew Penises On Police Officer's Head, Posted On Facebook, Fined

Jordan Barrack edited the picture on Snapchat

A 20-year-old builder has been ordered to pay more than £500 after he drew a penis on a police officer's face using Snapchat.

Jordan Barrack secretly took the photo on his mobile phone while being interviewed by an officer at Sleaford Police Station, Lincoln.

He then drew two penises on the picture using Snapchat, one over the officer PC Charles Harris' face, before sending it to some friends and posting it on Facebook.

Barrack, from Ruskington, said he's "massively shocked" at the punishment and said: "People have come up to me and said they can't believe it got to court and said it was a waste of taxpayers' money. I was massively shocked at the fine."

He pleaded guilty at Lincoln Magistrates' Court to 'posting a grossly offensive, obscene picture on a social media site' and was ordered to pay £400 in compensation.

The youngster, who lives with his parents, had to pay an additional £85 of costs and a £60 victim surcharge, and was ordered to serve a 12 month community order with 40 hours of unpaid work.

Barrack reportedly said he took the photo because he was bored of waiting to give officers an account of a bar brawl he had witnessed.

He added: "He [the police officer] was writing things down and I just sat there bored out of my head so got my phone out and thought I would be a bit cocky and did it. I thought nothing would come of it.

They confiscated my phone at the time and I still haven't got it back over five months later even though the case is finished now."

Barrack was not represented by anyone and told the court: "I am terribly sorry and it was a massive mistake and I shouldn't have done it.

Please send my apologies to the officer if I was to see them again I would apologise to them."

#CODED-ish News::New tactics of Abuja sex workers

Like every other urban settlements, the Federal Capital Territory is having its fair share of the activities of commercial sex workers. Once upon a time, these women of easy virtue, draped in their skimpy dresses, dotted every major road and hotel in the nation's capital.
At a point, the FCT authority became uncomfortable with the situation and so rolled out some directives to put an end to prostitution in the city. The authority, through its Secretary for Social Development, Mrs. Blessing Onuh, in fact, banned the "business" in the city.
"I am out to instruct the girls that the FCT minister has given them 48 hours to vacate the city and quit the job. They constitute a nuisance to the city and the FCT administration will not tolerate that. We are also sending warnings to those men patronising them to stop. Some of the girls are under-aged; it is child abuse. If we get you doing that, we will get you arrested and treat you the way CSWs are treated," she said.
Apart from creating a special taskforce with the responsibility of arresting recalcitrant "runs girls", the FCTA, in its 2013 budget, earmarked N150m for their evacuation and rehabilitation. Other vulnerable persons such as the destitute were also considered in the budget.
As of today, it may be difficult to see these commercial sex workers loitering around public places, but that does not mean that they have left the city to sell their "ware" elsewhere as directed by the Minister, Senator Bala Mohammed.
A two-week investigation carried out by our correspondent showed that these ladies are still plying their trade in the metropolitan city, but in different styles. Indeed, with the arrest of many of them by the special taskforce for loitering, they simply went back to the drawing board, devising new methods to up their game.
One of such methods, findings reveal is "online prostitution." This involves employing strategies, such as using social networking service. In fact, one unique approach is the use of Badoo, a dating-focused social networking service, which operates in 180 countries. Report has it as the 136th most popular website in the world.
According to a civil servant who recently transferred to Abuja from Ondo State, Badoo is handy for him when he needs female companions. He adds, "What I normally do is to launch my Badoo wherever I am. Whether I am drinking in a garden or visiting friends, once I launch it, my handset will show me ladies who are on Badoo within that vicinity. It will bring out their pictures and we will begin chatting. Anyone I decide to invite will be with me within 10 minutes because of her proximity."
He notes that while some of the "online prostitutes" will prefer to negotiate their price via online, others prefer the face-to-face negotiation, perhaps with some bottles of drinks to spice up the moment.
The use of smart phones is another veritable platform. Here, their agents with such i-phones display pictures (nude and semi-nude) of their friends and business partners, as it were, who are up for grabs. Once they gain the potential men's attention, they show them the pictures from which they make their choices.
Our correspondent ran into one of such agents at a popular garden in the Central Area of Abuja and offered her a drink. To reciprocate the gesture, the lady, who claimed to be Benita, offered to provide her friend(s). "What are your specs (specifications)? You like them chubby or thin. What size of boobs and buttocks do you prefer?" These and many more questions came from Benita.
Without waiting for answers, she opened her Nokia Lumina phone and next was a series of beautiful pictures of young ladies in their early and mid 20's.
"You will like this one, she is gentle. You will enjoy this one, she is jovial," she said and continued using different words to advertise the special attributes of each of the ladies on her phone gallery.
On whether the ladies are her friends, she said, "I knew them when I was doing girls' business." When pressed further to explain what the business was, Benita recoiled into her shell out of suspicion.
In order not to give himself away, our correspondent asked her to call any of the girls who she could vouch for. Tingling with excitement, she immediately promised to invite three of such women to avoid any disappointment. But if you think that service would be done without a price, you are dead wrong. In fact, this correspondent mobilised her to carry out the task with a recharge card and in less than 20 minutes, two of the ladies were already close to the garden, desperately seeking information on the phone on how to reach us.
But before they finally joined us, she boasted, "Two of them are already close by. I do not want to turn anyone of them back. You can pick your choice from the two. In case you want to go with the two, you are free to do so. In this Abuja, I can "control" 10 girls for you immediately without standing up from here."
As soon as Sandra and Love (not real names) joined us, they ordered drinks while I kept taking notes of the sequence on my i-pad. Benita kept interrupting me, accusing me of not concentrating on my guests. She whispered to me, demanding to know which one of them I preferred or whether I would go with the two. When I asked what it would cost me to take them; away, she replied, "I have worked on them so you do not need to negotiate with them. Just take them away and when they are leaving tomorrow morning, give them whatever you can afford."
At that point, I told her that I had an evening meeting to cover and I promised to join them later. To erase any doubt, I left enough money to cater for their drinks while the contact person assured of keeping them company until I returned.
Again, instead of loitering around, Abuja commercial sex workers now sit inside drinking joints or hotel bars, occasionally engaging in one social debate or another. Indeed, since they dress well, it will be difficult to take them for whores.
On Sunday evening, our correspondent, in company with a colleague, drove to a popular hotel located in Area 3, Garki, which is notorious for huge presence of these damsels. Interestingly, these women of easy virtue were not on the street leading to the hotel as was in the past. They have also adopted a fresh strategy.
As we entered the hotel's drinking garden, there were no fewer than seven men with small kiosks inside the garden. Apart from chewing gum and perhaps recharge cards, the other most prominent items on display at the kiosks were all manner of cartons of condoms.
I bought a recharge card from one of them in order to gain his confidence and talk to him. The trick worked. When I demanded to know whether "babes" no longer come to the hotel, he smiled and pointed to a corner where there was a live band. He told me in not-too-perfect English that I had passed many of them unknowingly.
As we made our way towards the live band, ladies who were already seated, pretending to be patrons who came to drink, started making some unusual gestures towards us. Pronto, we found out that they were CSWs who, for fear of arrest, no longer stand on the roadside.
No sooner had we gone past them than different perfume ordour hit our nostrils. So also were clouds of cigarette smoke. They also maintained eye contacts with us with the hope that we would invite them. They were however disappointed as we made our way back to our car and drove off.
A banker, Emmanuel, told our correspondent a story of how commercial sex workers contribute money to rent houses in the city centre with about five or more of them sharing a single room. He recalled how one of his friends who went in search of one of the ladies in Area 8 ended up sleeping with not only the lady but also with one of her roommates.
Although efforts to get the reaction of the FCTA to react to the new trend did not yield any result, a source told our correspondent that it would be difficult to tackle.

#CODED-ish Gist::Davido Finally Reveals Why He insulted Top Music Video Director, Sesan Over Skelewu Video

When the singer released the song, he tasked his fans to record the 'Skelewu' dance with any device of their choices and upload such on the internet. This was exactly what D'Banj did when he released his smash hit single, 'Oliver Twist'.

As expected, many people responded to it and in a short time, the 'Omo Baba Olowo' announced that he was shooting the music video of the song.

However, before its official release, the music video, shot by Sesan, reportedly leaked on the internet, but the video received knocks from fans, who felt disappointed at the work. As a way of damage control, Davido took to twitter to dissociate himself from the video and slammed Sesan for the job.

He thereafter announced that he was contracting UK-based music video director, Moe Musa for another shoot of the song. Though the second job fell below expectation, Davido later gave up on the job after he was slammed by his fans as he was allegedly planning to shoot a third video for the song.

Speaking recently on why he publicly took on Sesan, Davido declared that he felt bad about what Sesan did because he had expected much from him.

Corroborating him, his cousin, Shina Rambo, lamented that Sesan didn't do what was expected from him. He said they were angry with him (Sesan) because they paid hugely for the job and thought he would do what would be appreciated by all.#End

#CODED-ish News::UNBELIEVABLE: Sales Girl Flush Day Old Baby Down Toilet.....You Can't Believe The Reason She Gave For Her Action...(Photo)

A 20-year-old woman, Rafiat Oseni, has been brought before an Ebute-Meta Magistrate's court for allegedly killing her day-old baby by flushing him down a public toilet.

The incident happened at Alaba Rago Market in Ojo area of Lagos State.

It was learnt that Oseni, who hails from one of the Northern states in the country, worked as a sales girl in the market and had entered the toilet pretending to ease herself.

She was said to have forced the baby into the toilet, but the baby got stuck in it.

He died as people were attempting to rescue him.

The magistrate, Mr Olanrewaju Olatunji, in obvious shock, asked the suspect why she decided to kill her own child.

Instead of responding, Oseni burst into tears and pleaded for forgiveness.

Olatunji then called the Investigating Police Officer, Woman Corporal Veronica Uket, who narrated the incident.

She said, "Oseni went to the public toilet on January 3, 2014 around 2.30pm. She was said to have pretended that she wanted to ease herself.

"She came out and nobody suspected anything. When she left, the baby started crying. It was another woman who wanted to use the toilet that first saw the child and called the attention of the woman in charge of the public toilet.

"People went there and saw that the baby was stuck inside the toilet. By the time they removed him, they saw that he was already dead."

Uket said the suspect could not be found on the day of the incident, but she was caught the following day when she showed up again in the market for work.

She was subsequently handed over to the police who arraigned her on Wednesday on one count of murder.

The charge reads, "That you, Rafiat Oseni, on January 3, 2014, at about 2.30pm at Alaba Rago Market Ojo, Lagos, in the Lagos Magisterial District, did unlawfully kill a day-old baby and thereby committed an offence punishable under Section 221 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, Nigeria, 2011."

The defendant's plea was not taken.

The police prosecutor, Inspector Richard Odigwe asked for the remand of the defendant in line with Section 264 of the Administration of Criminal Justice, Lagos State Nigeria, 2011.

Odige added that the remand would help the police obtain legal advice from the Directorate of Public Prosecution.

The magistrate agreed to remand the defendant in the Ikoyi Prison pending legal advice.

The matter was adjourned till March 10, 2014.#End

#CODED-ish News::Swansea Fires Manager Michael Laudrup

The Dane struggled to recapture last season's feat this term, winning just eight Premier League games in his last 34, since he led the Welsh club to Capital One Cup success last year.

Swansea have confirmed that "Garry Monk will take up the reigns as head coach alongside current first team coach Alan Curtis for the foreseeable future."

The club's chairman said: "It is a decision we have taken reluctantly. But it's a decision made in the best interests of Swansea City Football Club and our supporters.

"It is the first time in nearly 10 years that the club has parted with a manager in this way, but we had to remove the constant uncertainty surrounding the club and Michael's long-term future with us.

"I had a meeting with Michael today in a final attempt to support him and establish a way to improve the work of the backroom team to secure the results we need over the final 14 Premier League games.

"However, after thinking long and hard about the best way forward, I felt it was unlikely we would achieve a stable environment at the club to allow us to get back to basics and produce the performance levels that have served Swansea City so well over the last few years.

"Now we need to put that uncertainty behind us and move forward as a united football club on all fronts, while placing on record our gratitude to Michael for the work he has done over the last 18 months and wish him well for the future."

The Swansea chairman concluded: "I hope all our supporters can fully understand how difficult this period has been for us and I would urge everyone connected to the football club to get behind Garry Monk, the staff and players."#END

An Abuja Grade 1 Area Court, sitting in Kado on Tuesday sentenced a scavenger, Yakubu Jibril, 18, to eight months in prison for vandalism.

He was arraigned for joint act, criminal trespass and theft.

The Presiding Judge, Alhaji Ahmed Ado, sentenced the convict without an option to pay a fine after he pleaded guilty.

Ado, however, gave the convict an option to pay nine thousand naira.

"The punishment is to make you change your lifestyle from that of crime to being a good citizen," he stated.

Earlier the Prosecutor, Mr Simon Ibrahim, told the court that the convict and one other, now at large, trespassed into Globacom Communication Company Ltd and vandalised water pumping machine.

Ibrahim said that one Tosin Adiel, a security guard attached to the company in Wuse 2, Abuja reported the matter to the Utako Police Station on Jan. 30.

After the convict's guilty plea, the prosecutor prayed the court to summarily sentence him under Section 157 (1) of the Criminal Procedure Code.

The section states that "if an accused admits that he has committed the offence of which he is accused, his admission shall be recorded. It adds that this must "be nearly as possible, in the words used by the accused and if he shows no sufficient cause why he should not be convicted, the court may convict him accordingly''.

He said the offence contravened the provision of Sections 79, 287 and 427 of the Penal Code. (NAN).

A middle school student in Kennebunk middle school suffered second-degree burns Friday when her iPhone caught fire in her pants pocket just before a class, said her family and school officials.

The 14-year-old eighth-grader who has not been named sustained burns on one thigh and her back, and was taken to Southern Maine Health Care in Biddeford for treatment.

She had just sat down before her first-period French class Friday morning when she and her friends sitting nearby heard a pop from her Apple iPhone 5C which was in her back pocket.

The principal Jeff Rodman said, "She knew right away something was wrong and, in a panic, knew her pants were on fire caused by the cell phone."

A group of girls gathered around the student and helped remove her clothes, while boys who were in the class were ushered outside.

According to her mother, Mrs Judy Milligan who had given her daughter the green iPhone 5C two months ago, she was shocked when she was called by the school to inform her about the incident., adding that her daughter had remained calm and even asked to go back to school after being treated in hospital.

#CODED-ish News::FIRE OUTBREAK IN KUTI HALL- Instinct With Bamzie.

You probably shouldn't be offended if a Kutite fails to return your good morning greetings because it wasn't the best of mornings for them as they woke up to see one of the worst things happen to their hall, as a hungry man-to-be is an angry man.

It was at exactly some minutes after 6am, 3rd of February 2014,  when the Kuti hall buttery caught fire, razing down the popular Aunty Kemi store, which has served Kutites  and non-Kutites for many years. The cause of the fire is still unknown but it was suspected to have been caused by a power surge.

It was a cold morning when students were preparing for a new working week as they woke up to the BOOMING sound of exploding devices such as fridges, freezers, air conditioners, computers and many others. It wasn't an appealing sight as we watched goods worth millions of naira go into flames. It took the late intervention of the Oyo state fire services and the University of Ibadanfore services to quench the "fire works". The University students thought it was a "bucket and detergent" issue, but it wasn't unfortunately.

It was gathered from an eye witness that around that same time when the pandemonium broke out, a student was knocked down by a moving vehicle, around the sharp bend leading to the entrance of the hall, losing a tooth and a student was reported to have fallen down while running for help, this student happens to be the General Secretary of the Ibadan Varsity Christian Union.

At the scene of the outbreak were the was the Student Union President, Babatunde Badmus and hus gang of executive council members. The university's dean of students was also at the scene to be a witness.

While then owners of the burnt stores are counting their losses while we sympathise with them, it is only of our opinion that the Bello Hall buttery owner should start preparing to stock their stores as they now feed double the population of their normal customers. They should also be advised to take adequate measures to forestall futures occurrence.

When police arrived at the home of 51 year old Joy Ojiabo around 5pm on Wednesday Jan. 29th, they found her suffering from multiple injuries, "to include a large, wooden handled knife protruding from her chest.". She was pronounced dead 20 minutes later. Isaac Ojiabo Snr, the deceased's husband who called the police said Isaac Jr., had escaped with his mother's Lexus SUV after the stabbing.

On the first call, on March 7, at 8:58 p.m., the Sheriff's Office responded to a call for a verbal family argument, Hopkins said. It ;involved the father and an unidentified family member.

On. Sept. 1, police were called to the home at 10:12 a.m. for an alleged domestic fight between mother and son.

#CODED-ish News::California Allows First-Ever State Recognized Human-Animal Marriage(PHOTO)

History was made at the Chapel of Our Lady at the Presidio in San Francisco as the first-ever state recognized human-animal marriage took place. Local resident 35-year-old Paul Horner was the groom during the ceremony. Joining him was his faithful dog Mac who is 36-years-old in dog years. Mac also decided to be the groom but ended up wearing a white veil at the last moment.

Father McHale who officiated the outdoor wedding told reporters he was extremely happy to be a part of this joyous moment of life. "This is the definition of true love my friends. There is nothing more sacred than the bond between a man and his faithful dog," McHale said. "Now, since it is recognized as a legally binding marriage in the state of California, Mr. Horner and Mac will have all the same tax benefits and everything else coming to them that a regular married couple would receive. It's a fantastic day to be alive!"

So how could this have happened?

In the book of California's State Laws and Regulations there is a little known law that was passed as the state was first forming in 1850. According to article 155, paragraph 10, it clearly states: -

If a man and a man can get married and a woman and a woman can get married, if ever comes that day, then a human and animal will have the exact same rights to marriage in every eye of the law.

God help us if this ever is to happen! In attendance was Horner's entire family who flew in from Hawaii to witness the event. Mac had her puppies on hand and making a special celebrity appearance was Alex from Stroh's and Spuds Mckenzie. "I just love my Mac so much, I can't wait till we can finally get back to the honeymoon sweet in Montana where bestiality is legal. Gosh, get with the times California! We can marry here just fine, but love making is a big no-no," said Horner. "People keep asking me why I wanted to marry a dog.

I told them I just want the same god given rights that every person in California is allowed to have. Don't tell me I can't marry my dog. I don't tell you that you can't marry a 500 lb woman with gas issues. That's your decision. Don't tread on me. I love my dog and I know he loves me a hundred times more than any gay wedding out there." With this wedding between a man and a male dog now on the books, one can only ask what is in store next?

A man marrying a toaster? A toaster marrying a dog? A toaster marrying a toaster?
What happened to the sanctity of marriage?

#CODED-ish News::Muslim Pupils Protest Against Hijab Ban(PHOTO)

Twitter
Muslim pupils under the umbrella body of the Muslim Students' Society of Nigeria marched through some major streets in Lagos State on Saturday, protesting against the hijab ban in public schools.

The procession was peaceful and many of protesters were seen carrying placards with various inscriptions.

Some of the placards condemned acts of immorality, while others encouraged the wearing of hijab by female Muslims.

The Amirah (Female President) of the Lagos unit of the association said the association might seek legal action to claim Muslims' rights.

Speaking with SUNDAY PUNCH, she called on the Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Fashola, to allow female Muslim students in public schools wear hijab.

She stated that if hijab was not allowed in public schools, they might be forced to mobilse Muslim youths against anti-Islam governments in 2015.

She cited the case of Ekiti State where the Governor, Kayode Fayemi, has permitted such, asking why Fashola, a Muslim, should not emulate Fayemi.

She stated that it was their right to wear hijab.

She said as tax payers and law abiding citizens, hijab should be allowed in public schools and that "hijabites should not be descriminited against."

The procession was made up of mainly girls of primary and secondary schools.

They marched from Maryland to Gani Fawehinmi Park, Ojota.

World Hijab Day is celebrated on February 1. It was started by a New York resident, Nazma Khan.
