Nigerian teenage girls develop urine-powered generator
Four Nigerian teenage girls - Duro-Aina Adebola (14), Akindele Abiola (14), Faleke Oluwatoyin (14) and Bello Eniola (15) have created something truly incredible, even if it's a little dangerous.
The girls invented a urine powered generator which was showcased at this year's Maker Faire Africa held in Lagos a few days back.
According to Maker Faire Africa, an annual event which showcases inventions, the system works like this:
Urine is put into an electrolytic cell, which separates out the hydrogen.
The hydrogen goes into a water filter for purification, which then gets pushed into the gas cylinder.
The gas cylinder pushes hydrogen into a cylinder of liquid borax, which is used to remove the moisture from the hydrogen gas.
This purified hydrogen gas is pushed into the generator.
1 Liter of urine gives you 6 hours of electricity.
Why is it a little dangerous? Maker Faire Africa ended their report by saying - Along the whole way there are one-way valves for security, but let's be honest that this is something of an explosive device…

Millicent Owuor, 20, gave birth to the twins in south-west Kenya on the day Mr Obama was re-elected.
A short distance from the hospital, at the Obama family's ancestral village, people were celebrating his victory.
"I named the first twin Barack and the second one Mitt," Ms Owuor is quoted by Reuters news agency as saying.
Ms Owuor posed for photographers on Wednesday at the Siaya District Hospital with her twin boys.
She said she had named her twins after the winning and losing US presidential candidates in order to remember the day of the vote, Kenya's Standard newspaper reports.

CRAZY: Woman Goes Nude During Board Meeting To Make A Point (Video)
These oyinbo people and their weird ideas. Must you go nude in public?
During a hearing of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors' Neighborhood Services Committee in which officials discussed a ban on public nudity, nudity activist Gypsy Taub stepped up to the podium and addressed the committee.
"Nudity does not harm children," she said. "Have you ever seen a child cry because they saw a naked person? What do children do when they see naked people? They laugh. It makes them happy, it doesn't traumatize them. Nudity is natural and harmless. Our bodies are God's gift and God doesn't make mistakes. Attacking our right to be nude is an attack on sacredness, beauty, love freedom, art and creative self-expression."
Taub then removed her dress, revealing a nary an undergarment, and declared, "attacks on body freedom are unconstitutional and un-American." She was quickly escorted out of the room by police officers while chanting, "Up with body freedom, down with Scott Wiener."
Naturally, Taub was greeted with a rousing round of applause--probably for a whole variety of reasons.
In the hallway outside the committee room, Taub was detained by police and eventually put her clothes back on. "Nudity does not harm anyone," she added. "It's people's actions and not people's bodies that harm people. Clothes have never stopped anyone from sexual harassment; they have not stopped anyone from raping; clothes have never stopped anyone form getting raped. It is nothing to do with clothes, it has to do with people's actions."
The San Francisco Chronicle notes that Taub had sent out press release to various media outlets announcing her intention to disrobe during the meeting.

President Obama's re-election speech (A Must Read!)
President Obama is definitely one of the best orators the world has even seen. Incredible speech.
Thank you. Thank you. Thank you so much. Tonight, more than 200 years after a former colony won the right to determine its own destiny, the task of perfecting our union moves forward. It moves forward because of you. It moves forward because you reaffirmed the spirit that has triumphed over war and depression, the spirit that has lifted this country from the depths of despair to the great heights of hope, the belief that while each of us will pursue our own individual dreams, we are an American family and we rise or fall together as one nation and as one people.

‘The best is yet to come”, says Obama
President Obama takes the stage to thundering applause and the strains of ‘Signed, sealed and delivered’ by Stevie Wonder. He begins by telling the crowd that America has reaffirmed the spirit that has triumphed over war depression, and lifted the country from the depths of despair.
“The best is yet to come”, he says.
Obama takes a moment to thank all Americans who came out to vote regardless of who they voted for, and mentions the long lines at the polling booths that were such a problem today. “I’ll do something to fix that”, he says.

Romney begins speech, gracious in defeat so far
Governor Mitt Romney has put on a brave face, graciously congratulating Obama and saying he prayed that he would be able to guide the nation properly. He also thanks Paul Ryan, saying that he “was the best choice he made after Ann”
After thanking his wife, children, volunteers and everyone else who helped him on his campaign, Romney calls for an end to partisan politics, saying that the nation was at a critical point, and that this was not a time for partisan bickering. “I so wish I had been able to lead you and this country in a different direction, but the nation chose the other candidate, and I earnestly pray for him”, he said.
Romney added that despite his defeat he believed that principles endured, adding that the principles that founded the country would life the country out of the economic quagmire that it presently found itself in.

US ELECTION UPDATE: Obama wins battleground Wisconsin
President Barack Obama on Tuesday won the battleground state of Wisconsin, depriving Mitt Romney of a key target that could help him win the White House, US television networks projected.
Wisconsin has not voted for a Republican president since Ronald Reagan in 1984, but Romney picked Representative Paul Ryan from the Midwestern state as his running mate and both candidates campaigned heavily there.
With losses in Wisconsin and Romney's Massachusetts, the ticket becomes the first since George McGovern and Sargent Shriver in 1972 in which both the presidential and vice presidential candidates lost their home states.

Read Story: Sarah Obama says she prays her 'grandson' will win
Sarah Obama, paternal "grandmother" of US President Barack Obama, ventured outside her home on Tuesday in the western Kenyan village of Kogelo for a few minutes to talk to reporters.
"I pray for him, for God to help him," she said during an improvised press conference in her garden.
"It is a tough race, so I have prayed for him. If this is his turn (to win again), God will let him triumph," she added in her native Dholuo language.
Sarah Obama, who turns 90 this year, is the third wife of Barack Obama's paternal grandfather. She is not related by blood to the US president, but he considers her -- "Mama Sarah" -- his grandmother.
In the run-up to the election, Sarah Obama has mostly remained indoors under 24-hour police protection.
Kogelo, nestled in hills some 60 kilometres (40 miles) from Kisumu -- the main town in western Kenya -- has undergone a major facelift since Obama's election four years ago.
The main road has been tarmacked, and residents have electricity and running water.

Kansas Election 2012: Mitt Romney Poised To Win 6 Electoral Votes Over Obama (LIVE UPDATES)
Mitt Romney is poised to win 6 electoral votes over Barack Obama in the Kansas election on Tuesday.
Decision Day in the red-leaning state is likely to be a quieter affair compared to all the action going down in presidential battlegrounds. U.S. Senate and gubernatorial contests are not on the ballot in Kansas this year.
In Kansas, the polls are open between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m., but Vote Kansas explains:
State law requires that polling places open at 7:00 a.m. and close at 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, but the county may open the polls earlier and close them later. All voters who are in line when the polls close are allowed to vote.
