PATHETIC!!! 2 Men rape 20-year old girl and Slash Off her Lips
It was double tragedy for Ruth Simon, a 20-year-old girl who was raped and had part of her lower lip chopped off by her attackers. Ruth, who said the incident happened close to her house in Jenta Adamu area of Jos, explained that on September 23, at 11.30 pm while she was returning home, she was accosted by two men suspected to be residing in the area.
She said when they stopped her and started making overtures to her, she pleaded that they should let her go. But before she could get away, they grabbed and pinned her to the ground and one of them covered her mouth with his palm to prevent her from shouting while they began undressing her.

A mother, Ngozi Offor, yesterday told an Abuja Chief Magistrate Court how Senior Pastor Basil Princewill of Mountain Movers Fire Ministry allegedly defiled her 14-year-old daughter (names withheld) and made her undergo an abortion after she became pregnant. The pastor, Apostle Basil Princewill and Pauline Okoh were charged with criminal conspiracy, impersonation, intimidation, force and assault, which are offences contrary to Sections 97, 179, 397 (B) and 268 of the Penal Code.

Lagos will no longer allow other states’ number plates - says Govt
The Lagos State Government yesterday said it would no longer allow the use of vehicles with number plates from other states of the federation for commercial transportation in the state.
It also advised residents with private vehicles to change to the state’s number plates to reflect the fact that they are living in Lagos.
The Director, Vehicle Inspection Office, Mr, Gbolahan Toriola, said the measure was meant to achieve “sanity, standard, safety and security” as stipulated by the road traffic law.

Twenty-three year Oyeniyi, a 300-level Mass Communication student of Lead City University, Ibadan, was arrested for allegedly defrauding some foreigners of millions of dollars.The suspect, who confirmed his involvement in Internet fraud, told the police that he got into the business two years ago.He also accepted to have swindled two women of huge sums of money.He said, “I am involved in yahoo business (Internet fraud). I had duped some women living in the United States of various sums of money.

SHOW OF SHAME: Ogun traditional rulers exchange blows
The Nigeria Police Division in Itori, Ewekoro Local Government Area of Ogun State was turned into a boxing arena on Tuesday when two traditional rulers engaged each other in fisticuffs over disagreement on a cultural festival.
The two traditional rulers involved in what many have described as desecration of the Yoruba culture and tradition were Olu of Itori, Oba Akorede Akamo and Baale Lapeleke, Chief Adisa Akinremi. Daily Sun reliably gathered that Akinremi had gone to the police station to lodge complaints against Oba Akamo and the police invited the latter to defend himself. Akinremi was said to have complained about the alleged disruption of a cultural ceremony being staged by natives of a neighbouring village the night previous.
Daily Sun learnt that it was while Akamo was trying to defend himself that he got angry and allegedly slapped Akinremi, who retaliated as well as went ahead to beat the attacker up to the extent that he (Akamo) scampered for safety. The Owu people in Lapeleke camp township, a suburb town of Itori in the local government area were at the height of celebrating the annual Owu Cultural and Heritage Renaissance Festival.
The Owu festival had earlier been flagged off at the palace of the Olowu of Owu in Abeokuta on Monday. Akamo was alleged to have led a group of people believed to be thugs, armed with guns and cutlasses and shot sporadically leading to the disruption of the ceremony. Several people were injured in the melee and property yet to be estimated were destroyed. While the injured had been taken to a hospital in Abeokuta for treatment, Daily Sun also learnt that a number of arrests had been made and the suspects were being questioned at the Itori Police Station.

NJC re-instates Justice Isa Ayo Salami

The National Judicial Council (NJC) yesterday reversed itself over the suspension of former president, Court of Appeal (PCA), Justice Isa Ayo Salami. The NJC told a Federal High Court that President Goodluck Jonathan had no power or role under the 1999 Constitution or any other law to recall or reinstate Justice Salami or any other justice of the appellate court. Justice Salami was suspended by the NJC last year. He was ordered to be reinstated.
The Council also faulted the re-appointment of Justice Dalhatu Adamu as Acting President of the Court of Appeal, describing his continuous stay in office as unconstitutional and illegal by virtue of section 238 (5) of the 1999 Constitution. The Council, under its former Chairman and immediate past Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Justice Dahiru Musdapher, lifted the suspension of Salami but referred the issue of his reinstatement to President Jonathan for his approval.
