An angry passenger who does not want his name mentioned said that passengers had finished taking their refreshment onboard the small aircraft when a signal came that a door was not locked and they should return to Lagos.
"Remember that small plane you guys used that day to Douala, Aero? Hmm! We left Lagos with it and like 30 minutes later on air, after all the refreshments.
I had finished eating and then announcement came in that there's a signal that the door is open somewhere.
That it is required we return to Lagos. Returning to Lagos was hell. Plane flew so low and that's how we managed back.
For 40 minutes, they said we should wait in plane and 20 minutes later they said we should descend. We are back to boarding room now. Thank God.
Even 2Face was in the flight and has left to the VIP lounge now. That is my story for today.

In an interview with a Namibian newspaper yesterday, he confirmed that he'd split from Dillish but denied he's expecting a baby with another woman. The relieved Ministers are Stella Oduah (Aviation), Caleb Olubolade (Police Affairs), Godsday Orubebe (Niger Delta Police Affairs), and Yerima Ngama (State, Finance).
It will be recalled that Stella Oduah's case is related to corruption-related offences. Both the House of Representatives and a presidential committee indicted her for approving purchase of two bullet-proof cars for N255m. Investigations have also revealed that Oduah has forged her academic qualifications.
Minister of State for FCT, Olajumoke Akinjide is to supervise the Ministry of Police Affairs, while the Minister of State for Trade and Investment, Sam Ortom, is to supervise the Aviation Ministry. Minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs, Gayius Isiaku, would supervise the ministry, while the Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala would have to combine her work with that of Yerima Ngama.
Why
Speaking at the FEC, Information Minister Labaran Maku disclosed that the President directed the Ministers to vacate their positions to pursue political and private business interests they had expressed.
"The President announced further changes in the Federal Executive Council," Mr. Maku said. "He said a number of ministers had been asked to step out from the council to pursue their own interests, some in politics and others in their own private focus. Mainly what the President did today was to allow the Ministers that have indicated interest in pursuing further growth in the economy to be allowed to go."
While Ms. Oduah was sacked in absentia as she was not at the cabinet meeting, the other affected ministers were in attendance at what turned out their last FEC meeting.
The ministers of police affairs and Niger Delta affairs however left before the end of the meeting.
Minister Orubebe
In 2012, a group, Anti-Corruption Network, headed by a former member of the House of Representatives, Dino Melaye, accused Mr. Orubebe of corruption and abuse of office.
In a petition to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission, ICPC, the group accused the former minister of accepting gratification of a palatial mansion in Abuja, contrary to Section 12 of the Act.
The former minister was also criticized by the Rivers State Governor, Chibuike Amaechi, for poor performance, especially for failing to complete the East-West Road, which is vital to the economy of the Niger Delta region.
Mr. Ngama and his Malabu case
Mr. Ngama, alongside the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Mohammed Adoke, allegedly ignored petitions, a court case, and anti-corruption investigations, to hurriedly authorize the transfer of N155billion into accounts controlled by Dan Etete, a former Petroleum Minister, who claimed ownership of Malabu.
Before his sack, Mr. Ngama, who is believed to be eyeing the governorship seat of Yobe State, had had a running battle with members of the Federation Account Allocation Committee, FAAC.
The Commissioners of Finance and Accountants-General of the 36 states and the FCT, who are members of the Committee had repeatedly protested to President Jonathan over alleged poor management of the affairs of the Committee.
Mr. Ngama also authored the controversial letter from the Ministry of Finance authorising the Nigerian Custom Service, NCS, to widen the scope of beneficiaries of the Export Expansion Grant. That letter is believed to have opened a floodgate of abuse of the customs duties waiver regime.

Pastor Adefarsin of House on the Rock Church was not listed and it was reported, he was not happy about this.
It was reported by Forbes he set out to prove his point to his church members at the 5-Star Eko Hotel in Victoria Island, Lagos where he held this Sunday's service.
"I am a billionaire and there is nothing anybody can do about it," he boasted. "I have coached many billionaires and you know, the pastor of billionaires is a billionaire."
"The preacher of a billionaire can only be a billionaire because a monkey cannot give birth to a goat and a goat cannot follow a baboon."
"I am a preacher. I am a motivational speaker. I am a TV personality. I am a life coach. You can criticize me or slander me in the pages of newspapers but the blessings are in me and there is nothing anyone can do about it," he bragged. As a 'billionaire', he went ahead to give tips to his vast congregation who apparently are all dreaming of becoming billionaires.
"To become a billionaire, Christians must simply imagine it, ask and realize that money, blessing and favour are already in them. All they need is to 'work out' what 'God has already worked in.' "
I am not against pastors being rich but the way our Nigerian pastors behave when it comes to money seems to make money more important than things concerning the spiritual realm. Their attitude to money often brings Christianity to disrepute. It's not for me to judge any pastor but some of their actions when it comes to money do not constitute a good shepherd like Jesus Christ

#CODED-ish News::ANTI-GAY LAW: We’ll Pressure Nigeria To Reverse The Law – United States
The US Assistant Secretary of State for African Affairs, Linda Thomas-Greenfield, said this during a live-web chat with journalists in Washington. Our correspondent monitored the web chat in Abuja.
Thomas-Greenfield also said that America was not bothered that Chinese companies were fast taking over the African market from their US counterparts.
President Goodluck Jonathan had on January 7, 2014 assented to the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Bill 2013 which criminalises homosexuality in the country.
On January 14 when it became public that the President had signed the bill into law, the US, Canada and the European Union openly expressed reservations over the law.
Thomas-Greenfield, who said the US had adopted the protection of the rights of same-sex people as part of its foreign policies, vowed that Washington would continue to mount and sustain pressure on Nigeria and other countries to reverse their laws against the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender community.
She said, "As a government, it is one of the highest priorities and strongest values that discrimination against anyone based on their sexual orientation and gender identity is wrong. We believe human rights should be available to everybody.
"As a policy, we will continue to press the government of Nigeria as well as other governments who have provided legislation that discriminate against the LGBT community."
Thomas-Greenfiled, who did not agree that pressuring Nigeria to reverse the anti-gay law amounted to interference, said the country and Uganda had the hardest legislation on the gay community.
She said, "This is very much a work in progress, but I think you will agree with me that the law in Nigeria really went far in discriminating against this community but also people who associate with them.
"So we will continue to press the government, to press the legislature to change these laws and provide human rights for all Nigerian people regardless of their sexual orientation."
She, however, did not disclose if the US would impose sanctions on the countries with anti-gay laws to achieve its objectives.
Thomas-Greenfield was optimistic that the U.S would win the fight to protect the LGBT community.
She said, "With what is happening in the US, you can determine how far we are willing to go. We strongly believe human rights for all people and we are particularly opposed to legislation that actually targets the gay community for discrimination. So we are prepared to push this as a policy not just in Africa but across the world."

The United States government has vowed to continue to press the Nigerian government to reverse its anti-gay law.

Yoichi Masuzoe, 65, newly-elected governor of Tokyo
Japan - A group of Japanese women have decided to boycott those men who voted for the newly-elected Tokyo governor by denying them sex.
In an interview with a men's magazine, Yoichi Masuzoe, 65, claimed women are unfit for government because of their menstruation cycles.
He claimed that women are not able to make critical decisions as they do not "behave normal" and act "irrational" when having a period.
In the now-infamous 1989 interview, Mr. Masuzoe said:
"Women are not normal when they are having a period … You can't possibly let them make critical decisions about the country [during their period] such as whether or not to go to war."
The insulted women launched a Twitter campaign called "The association of women who will not have sex with men who vote for Masuzoe". Japan - A group of Japanese women have decided to boycott those men who voted for the newly-elected Tokyo governor by denying them sex.
In an interview with a men's magazine, Yoichi Masuzoe, 65, claimed women are unfit for government because of their menstruation cycles.
He claimed that women are not able to make critical decisions as they do not "behave normal" and act "irrational" when having a period.
In the now-infamous 1989 interview, Mr. Masuzoe said:
"Women are not normal when they are having a period … You can't possibly let them make critical decisions about the country [during their period] such as whether or not to go to war."
The insulted women launched a Twitter campaign called "The association of women who will not have sex with men who vote for Masuzoe". Another strike by members of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) is imminent as there is fear over the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding reached with the federal government.
Indications emerged as the national treasurer of ASUU, Dr Tunde Aremu, while speaking at a luncheon held in honour of media for their roles in the last strike in Ibadan yesterday, disclosed that government was yet to release the N220 billion for 2014-2018 programmes.
He warned that the gates of the universities might again be shut should government refuse to implement the MoU reached at the tail-end of the last strike.
Aremu explained that the money was to be released on quarterly basis and deposited at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). However, he expressed fears that the MoU reached with the government before the last strike was called off might end up not being implemented as agreed.
Wondering why the government let the last strike continue for 5 months, he said that they don't want another strike to be launched.
While commending the media, Aremu said that the emancipation of Nigeria depends on the media and urged them not to rest in their oars.
He said the struggle for the implementation of the 2009 agreement had been partially won and called on the media to beam their searchlights on the universities on how the money would be spent.
Meanwhile the chairman University of Ibadan chapter of ASUU, Dr Olusegun Ajiboye, said the union had no option than to proceed on the inevitable strike since all avenues to let government realize the need to implement the agreement had failed.
Ajiboye lamented that the government didn't manage to use the resources at its disposal to effectively fund the educational system of the country.

#CODED-ish News::FG To Invest N1.3trn In University Education – Wike
This has been made known by the Supervising Minister of Education Chief Nyesom Wike on Monday when a team from the World Bank and the African Centres of Excellence (ACE) paid him a courtesy call in Abuja.
This announcement has followed the statement made by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) on Sunday that they might embark on another strike as the FG was yet to release the N220 billion to the Union.
According to Wike, the FG has realised the potential of an effective university system and therefore is determined to invest heavily in research, infrastructure, and improvement of quality teaching in the university system.
He said that the allocation of 10 slots out of 18 ACEs to Nigeria by the World Bank was a proof that such investment was beginning to yield dividends.
The Minister told the World Bank that the $80 million grant to the ACEs would be judiciously applied to achieve the goals for which the centres were established.
He commended the leadership of the National Universities Commission (NUC) for achieving such a feat.
Wike also said that it was the duty of Nigerians to ensure that they played their own part by contributing to the development of the sector.

#CODED-ish News::ASUU LAMENTS: Govt yet to honour agreement with us
Nearly two months into the latest pact that saw the end of a strike which paralysed activities in the country's university system for more than five months, ASUU claimed at the weekend that government has started to drag its feet again on the implementation of the agreement the two parties entered into.
It would be recalled that the last ASUU strike was declared on July 1, 2013 following non-implementation of a 2009 agreement the Federal Government signed with the union.
Speaking at a 'Thank You' parley with newsmen at the University of Ibadan, ASUU National Treasurer, Ademola Aremu, said part of the agreement before the strike was suspended was that government would be releasing N20 billion at the beginning of each quarter to cater for areas of needs identified in the needs assessment carried on universities but that "this is February and the government is yet to release the money for the quarter".
Aremu, who spoke at the gathering on behalf of ASUU President, Nasir Fagge, said the union had to start shouting from now to avoid the embarrassment the last strike caused the nation and its education system.
Describing the strike as needless but inevitable, Aremu recalled that if the government had been sincere with its part of the bargain, academic activities would not be disrupted as it often was the case when lecturers go on strike.
"All the strikes ASUU had embarked upon in this country were basically because the FG has failed to honour agreements freely entered to with us.
"It is also sad that before we begin each of those strikes, we would give the government enough warnings and grace to make them retrace their steps, but they always fail.
"We don't know why the government is always unwilling to implement the documents signed by their representatives. However, we will continue to fight for the system because if the system collapses we will collapse with it," Aremu stated.
While welcoming members of the press to the gathering, ASUU chairman at UI, Olusegun Ajiboye, said it was unfortunate that successive governments in Nigeria don't learn from history, as they always wait till major standoff with their members before doing the needful.
He expressed appreciation to the Nigerian media for standing by ASUU during the struggle, adding that the support was not really for the lecturers, but for a better Nigeria, adding that "the strike would not have recorded the level of success it did if the press did not stand by the lecturers".
He, however, said the struggles were not over yet, adding that journalists must see it as duty to monitor proper disbursement of monies promised to be injected into the university system and urged that journalists must ensure that every money was used for the purpose it is meant.
"You must also challenge us to justify the fruit of the fight. When we are going astray, please don't keep quiet, that is your mandate as the Fourth Estate of the Realm," he said.
The ASUU chieftain also charged journalists to take deeper interest in the crisis rocking the Ibadan-based Cocoa Research Institute of Nigeria (CRIN), where, he said, the management was treating the staff in an unfair manner.
Striking lecturers under the aegis of Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP) have similarly accused the Federal Government of insincerity in acceding to the demands of the union, insisting that government never made an offer of N20 billion for settlement for their outstanding salary arrears.
National President of ASUP, Chibuzor Asumogha, in a telephone interview with Daily Independent on Sunday, said the N20.4 billion in question was the sum total of what government ought to pay as salary arrears from CONTISS 15 and above.
Executive members of the union had on January 21 met with the Supervising Minister of Education, Nyesom Wike, who had promised to offset the N20.4 billion arrears but in separate instalments.
Asumogha said up till this moment government has not deemed it necessary to redeem its pledge.
He said since members of the ASUU returned to classrooms, government was clearly avoiding the polytechnic lecturers.

#CODED-ish News::Ibadan-Bound Passengers Escape Death as Overland Aircraft Catches Fire!
A major air disaster was averted on Friday as an Aviation Airline flight with Ibadan as its destination had a near blow up as one of the the engines caught fire just before take off. The passengers had to run and jump out of the aircraft.
One of the passengers told Street Journal that "thick flame was up and the air hostess shouted that we should all come out. The door wouldn't open on time until the captain assisted."
The passengers first had to sit down on the grass but were later conveyed from the tarmac in a bus. In the course of the confusion, Rtd Gen Jinadu was pushed down and he fell flat. Street Journal also found out that the flight could have taken off but for a passenger who caused a delay by insisting on sighting her luggage.
Officials of Overland Air could not be reached for comments as of the time of filing the report.
Some of the passengers had to be taken to the airforce base for first aid.
