The ongoing ASUU strike is just one sign, amongst many others, of the cracks in the educational system of Nigeria.....
It has come to light that the system is a mess judging from the prolonged strike, the quality of our teachers, and the deplorable state of government owned schools in the country; from primary to tertiary institutions.

Funke' secret love for an aide to former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel has been revealed. Jenifer is said to be deeply in love with the new found lover.

According to our sources, Funke Akindele went extra mile recently by procuring a Honda car for the lucky Bode, who was though an aide to former governor, but not as rich to have procured a car for himself. The love for Bode has totally overwhelmed Funke as she is so in fun and proud of the new found love.

If Funke is richer than Bode as reported by our source, definitely, the star actress must have learnt how to love and love indeed having suffered a setback in his first marriage to a ready-made rich polygamous man.

#CODED-ish News::Father Injected His Son With HIV When He Was Baby [PHOTO]

When Brryan Jackson was a baby, his father, a hospital technician, injected him with HIV-tainted blood to avoid paying child support to his ex-wife.

Doctors believed that Jackson would die in five months, but he's still alive today at the age of 22. The St. Louis-area man spoke with KPLR this week, stating that he has forgiven his father for trying to kill him. Continue...

"I find myself praying for my father's salvation," said Jackson, who says he owes his positive attitude to his Christian beliefs. The 1992 murder attempt made national headlines, and Jackson has used that attention to gain support for various nonprofit initiatives.

In 2009, Jackson founded Hope Is Vital, an organization that raises AIDS awareness and works to stop discrimination against people who are HIV-positive. He has also served as a speaker for Project Kindle, which provides summer camps and other recreational programs for children with serious illnesses.

His father, Brian Stewart, was sentenced to life in prison for first-degree assault in 1999. Though he is now eligible for parole, it has not yet been granted.

Jackson changed his first name from "Brian" to "Brryan" to separate himself from his father's identity when he was growing up.

Don Jazzy met with Ralph Simon at the African Leadership Network going on right now in Mauritius. For those who have never heard of Simon, he co-founded the independent Zomba Group of music companies (now a subsidiary of Sony Music Entertainment) in the 1970s. He was also Executive VP of Capitol Records and Blue Note Records in Hollywood and started EMI Music's global New Media division. He started Yourmobile (later renamed Moviso), the first ring tone company in the Americas, Europe, UK, Australia and Africa, in 1997.

#CODED-ish News:: 51-Year-Old man asks court to force wife to marry a virgin for him, Insisting on a divorce

Mohammed Audu, 51, of Tudun Wada, Mararaba in Nasarawa State, has asked a Grade 1 Area Court sitting at Aso Pada, to order his wife, Maryam, 25, to marry a virgin for him. Audu, who made the request on Wednesday at the resumed hearing in a case instituted by his wife who sued for divorce, said he would agree to the divorce, if the wife could marry a virgin for him.

He made the request when the Presiding Officer, Malam Danladi Musa, asked the couple if they had resolved the issues that made the wife file for divorce.

The couple told the court that they were yet to settle the issue.Audu, however, told the court that he had requested the persons who stood as their guardians during their marriage to come from the village to talk to his wife.

“They told me on phone that they will be coming next week to settle us.“I, therefore, urge the court to give me one last chance to settle the matter,” he pleaded.

The wife, however, objected, saying that marriage guardians were not the ones who would make her to stay with her husband.“All I want is the dissolution of this marriage.

#CODED-ish News:: [PHOTO] Femi Akinsanya walking out of wrecked plane before it caught fire

It was miraculous survival for Mr. Femi Akinsanya in yesterday’s Associated Airlines’ plane crash

Akinsanya, son- in-law of the late former Governor Olusegun Agagu whose body was being conveyed to Akure, the Ondo State capital from Lagos for burial, walked out of the remains of the Embraer 120 aircraft.

Akinsanya, along with his brother in-law, Mr. Feyi Agagu, the late Agagu’s son, were the only family members of the late governor on board the ill-fated plane.

As it turned out, they were among the seven survivors. As the aircraft crashed, Akinsanya, a Lagos businessman, was seen walking out of the wreckage before the aircraft caught fire. He suffered a minor injury on his head.

Sources has learnt that son of late former Governor Olusegun Agagu, Feyi Agugu and Deji Falae son of former Finance Minister, Olu Falae were amongst the twenty on board the Associated Airline chartered plane that crashed, Thursday, in Lagos.

Feyi Agagu is reported to be amongst the six survivors of the crash.

#CODED-ish Special:: [A MUST READ] University Graduates VS Graduate Artisans (non-graduates)

It really makes no sense to go to the university considering the fact that those that didn't go to university get more job opportunities than the graduates.

There is virtually no work in the society today that can't be done by "Graduate Artisans" who just acquired their skills outside the 4 walls of the university, so whats the point?

Take for instance, opposite my house here, someone just completed a 2 storey building. and i didn't find any single graduate among the workers. The guy just went to Lagos and brought some builders who came and built his house from foundation to roofing.

All were "Graduate Artisans" who learnt how to build houses outside the university. The question is; why should someone spend 5yrs studying civil engineering in Nigeria and not get the opportunity to express himself in the exact field he was trained?

Go to the mechanic village; all the auto mechanics there are illiterates. and someone will spend more than =N=500,000. studying mechanical engineering for 5yrs.

CODED-ish News:: Producer And Singer OJB Yet To Undergo Kidney Surgery

It has been 40 days and still counting and our beloved OJB is still in India yet to undergo kidney surgery.

Reports from a reliable source says suggests that there has been a delay in operation because OJB needs to undergo several pre-transplant treatment before the main surgery.

However, the source says that the pre-transplant treatments have now been completed and OJB is expected to go ahead with the main surgery in a few days.

#CODED-ish News:: Man Steals N6.8m From ATM In Abuja.

The Police Command in the FCT have begun investigation into the alleged theft of N6.8 million from the ATM of a bank at Jabi District, Abuja, on Saturday.

DSP Altine Daniel, the command's spokesperson, who disclosed this on Tuesday in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, said that a suspect had been arrested in connection with the theft.

He said that the 27-year-old suspect (name withheld), allegedly broke into the ATM belonging to one of the old generation banks and stole the money.

Daniel, however, said that the amount that was stolen was recovered "intact" from the suspect after he was arrested in the premises of the bank.

The would-be burglars were scared off -- apparently by the alarm, because they left without entering.

Here's their problem -- Rihanna's house is covered by security cameras. And get this ... to approach the property you have to drive onto a private road. As you turn onto the road, there's a sign: "Smile, You're on camera"

Video-sharing service YouTube has announced its first music awards, which will be presented at a live event November 3 featuring Lady Gaga, Eminem, Arcade Fire and others.

YouTube said the awards are a recognition that “music fans have turned YouTube into the world’s go-to music destination.”

“Now, to celebrate music fans and the music you love, we’re announcing a new kind of awards show–one powered by you,” YouTube’s marketing vice president Danielle Tiedt said in a blog post late Monday.

The Google-owned service said it will make nominations on October 17 and “we’ll then call on you to determine the songs and artists honored, by sharing the nominees across social media so the awards are judged in full view of everyone.”

Smite the shepherd and the sheep will flee”. This biblical injunction vividly captures the ongoing scenario at the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, COZA.

The name COZA became a ‘street anthem’ a few months back following a shocking confession by one Ese Walter, an ex-member of the church of her week-long sexual escapade with the senior pastor of the church, Abiodun Fatoyinbo. However, since then, the pastor has neither come out to refute or accept the allegation, but claimed that he was still waiting for God’s order.

While many still doubt the authenticity of the allegations, some light-hearted members of COZA are gradually leaving the church.It was learnt during a recent visit to the Lagos branch of the church, situated in Maryland, Ikeja.

Findings reveal that many aggrieved members and deacons have left the church since the authority of the church decided to sweep the matter under the carpet.

#CODED-ish News:: Another Policeman Caught On Video Demanding N10,000 Bribe

For the third time in the past two months, another policeman has been caught on video demanding a bribe of N10,000 from a motorist.

The footage, secretly filmed by a passenger at the back seat of a vehicle in Onitsha, Anambra State, has so far received thousands of hits on YouTube. The three-minute 18-second video which first appeared on the YouTube channel of one Tola Tim, has since become an Internet sensation.

In the video, a policeman apprehended the driver of a vehicle that was coming from Akure, Ondo State to Umuahia, Abia State. The policeman sat in the front seat with the driver, and after checking the vehicle particulars, declared that he had discovered some discrepancies between the documents and the chassis number.

In the video, the policeman explained that the number ‘0’ was the last number on the chassis number inscribed on the vehicle, while number ‘3’was the last number on the documents presented to him for perusal.

The driver was seen arguing with the policeman that he had asked him to veer off the road in order to enable him (policeman) do proper checking of the vehicle. Once the alleged discrepancies were discovered, the policeman insisted that he would collect N10,000 before he would release him.

For the family of Mr Ogbonnaya Ani in Umuose Urobo in the Uburu area of Ohaozara LGA of Ebonyi State, life can’t be more cruel to 7 members of the household now afflicted with madness one after the other. The Ani family is being ravaged by the spirit of madness.

The sad story of the family of Mr Ogbonnaya goes thus:
Ogbonnaya Ani’s elder brother’s daughter is mentally challenged. His younger brother’s son is in the same condition. Three of his own children, a male and two females, are equally afflicted. His daughter-in-law is not left out. So, there are six mentally ill persons in the family and, perhaps, still counting. Worst still, one of Ani’s mentally challenged daughters is heavily pregnant and no one seems to know who impregnated her…

And before his first wife died, she exhibited some signs of madness.

Recently, Mr Ogbonnaya told the stranger than fiction story. There is no doubt that the madness ravaging his immediate and nuclear families have left its toll on the old man. Sadness is evident in his sunken eyes. He looked frail and his voice quakes in palpable agony as he spoke. But for the magnanimity of a relation, Mr Ani and his household would not have had a place to lay their heads. This is because his mentally challenged son, Igwe Ani, alias Martin Martin, set his house ablaze. And before help could come, the structure had been reduced to ashes.
