The family of the 14-year-old Brooklyn girl who was allegedly killed
by her boyfriend and dumped on a beach blasted him this morning for
cowardly slaying her after he thought she was pregnant.
Police had arrested Christian Ferdinand, 20, in Maine on Tuesday,
where he had fled after he allegedly suffocated Shaniesha Forbes, 14,
and burnt her body before dumping the remains at Gerritsen Beach.

Policeman Who Owns Hummer Jeep Arrested For Robbery In Lagos
robbed last year won't be complete without the mention of Eboma
Onyeka, a Police Sergeant who was at the time of the incident attached
to the Mobile Police Unit 20, at Ikeja.
Onyeka had allegedly conspired with four others, including an employee
of the said bank and robbed the bank he was to secure of about N10m in
April 2011. A security guard attached to the bank, Sunday Ogundipe,
was strangled in the process.
Two months after, Onyeka was arrested, tried and dismissed from the
force before he was arraigned with his accomplices on armed robbery
and murder charges in July 2011.
However, Onyeka is once again a guest of the Special Anti-Robbery
Squad, Lagos, months after securing his bail. He is said to have been
involved in a series of bank ATM robberies since his bail from
Kirikiri Prisons in December 2011.
But Onyeka strenuously denied his involvement in any bank robbery
attacks and he was quick to give a recap of his activities since his
bail from prison.
"After I got my bail, I left Lagos for my village in Delta State. I
stayed there for about two, three months because I was ill and needed
to recover. When I was fully recovered, l went to Benin City and met a
friend whom I pleaded with for assistance. My friend gave me an Audi
car to use as a taxi, so I could earn a living. I also underwent a
10-week course in producing insecticides and fruit juices.
"Upon the completion of my course, I returned to Lagos because I
needed to start a business of my own. Since there was no place for me
to go, I called a friend of mine who is a serving police inspector and
he asked me to see him. My wife had returned to her family with my
children after I got into prison, so I had no home in Lagos. All this
happened in August 2012. It was the very day that I arrived Lagos that
I was arrested by SARS operatives. I still had my toiletries on me,"
Onyeka said.
However, the Lagos State Police Commissioner, Mr. Umar Manko,
disclosed that Onyeka was arrested after the spate of bank ATM
robberies in Lagos metropolis went up.
He said, "In the months following Onyeka's bail from prison custody,
we started getting reports of bank ATM robberies nearly every weekend.
Prior to his arrest last year, there were only two gangs responsible
for bank ATM robberies in Lagos: Onyeka's and another gang. As at the
time he went to prison custody, the ATM robberies had reduced to the
barest minimum.
"So when reports of ATM robberies began to come in, we decided to
check with the prison to confirm if Onyeka was still in their custody
but he wasn't. We began investigations and we were able to obtain his
number. Through his phone number, we were able to track his movements
until he got to Lagos and thereafter we rearrested him. His gang was
responsible for the recent robbery of a new generation bank where a
police corporal lost his life.
"At the time of his arrest, Onyeka had in his possession a fake
identity card which portrayed him as a serving member of the Mobile
Police Force. When SARS operatives stormed the hotel where he was
meeting with a friend, Onyeka had flashed his card to the team, not
knowing that he was the target of the raid."
Findings indicated that Onyeka was granted bail at an Igbosere High
Court 14 in December 2011 through a motion on bail application notice.
His lawyer, who identified himself as T.J. Ajapuno, said, "In law,
everyone is considered innocent until proven otherwise. Onyeka's wife
came to see me, requesting my services so that her husband could get
bail and due process was followed. If Onyeka went ahead to start
robbing again after his bail was granted, that is his own cup of tea.
His wife and his pastor had stood for him as sureties.
"We served the police and the State Criminal Investigative Department
at Panti got a copy of the bail application. The Directorate for
Public Prosecution got a copy too. I wasn't even aware that the DPP's
advice was out; I don't have the facts of the case and the DPP doesn't
even have Onyeka's file. It is not as if the case is over, the
substantive matter is before Justice Okunnu at the Ikeja High Court."
Since his bail, Onyeka had had no further court appearance. "Although
I was in touch with my lawyer and one of his subordinates, they told
me that they would contact me if anything came up," he said.
Before his arrest in July 2011, Onyeka had just completed a training
course for inspectors and was awaiting promotion to same rank.
Published reports said Onyeka was arrested in his private Hummer Jeep
on his way to keeping an appointment with other members of his gang
around 1.30 am on July 26, 2011.
Onyeka allegedly had in possession, an AK 47 rifle and a big bag
containing a face mask and other suspicious items. Before his
dismissal last year, the 41-year-old had served the Nigeria Police
Force for 19 years.

Teacher arrested for fondling 14-year-old pupil
Gowon Estate Police Division, Akowonjo, Lagos, for allegedly
victimising a 14-year-old pupil (name withheld) and banning her from
attending his classes.
Ebong, who teaches Physics and Chemistry at the Dee Jewels
International College, Gowon Estate, Egbeda, was arrested during
school hours after a complaint was lodged at the police station by
Spaces for Change, a non-governmental organisation on youth
development, on behalf of the pupil and her guardian, Mrs. Theresa
Amaechi. A copy of the petition revealed that Ebong began harassing
the victim from the first day of her enrolment in the school in
January 2013.
The petition read, "On repeated occasions, Ebong invited the victim to
the staff room informing her of his desire to have an intimate
relationship with her. Consequently, the victim became a regular
visitor to the staff room during break periods.
"On such visits, he made sexual advances to her which often involved
kissing and hugging. Several times, Ebong followed her home, waiting
at the gate to avoid being seen by her guardian."
The petition alleged that under much pressure from Ebong, the victim
eventually invited the teacher to her guardians' home while they were
away.
Ebong was alleged to have cajoled her to expose her private part,
after fondling her breasts and kissing her.
It was said the harassment became too persistent, that the victim
allegedly earned the title, "Uncle Phillip's wife," among her
classmates and friends.
Amaechi told PUNCH Metro, "The victim is a timid girl. I did not know
the extent of the harassment she was facing until she opened up to me
last Friday. Earlier, she had told me Ebong was asking her for a
relationship and I told her to reject his advances. I thought it would
stop at that.
"I was shocked when she told me last week that she was no longer
interested in staying in the science class; she wanted to switch to
the arts and when I asked why, she said it was because Ebong had
banned her from his classes.
"Apparently, she had told him that I was aware that he had asked her
for a sexual relationship. The revelation angered him. He even went as
far as threatening that she would fail her examinations,"
As of the time of Ebong's arrest, the school principal was said to be
busy as the SSS III students were taken the WAEC examination.
However the school proprietor, identified as Mrs. Azubuike, who was
alerted to the development, rushed down to the school. She said the
victim never made a formal report to the school.
She said, "We don't condone such acts here. Had we been informed on
time, we would have taken appropriate action."
When confronted, Ebong allegedly denied the accusation. He blamed the
entire situation on his interest in his students' success.
He said, "I am close to all my students; that is what I was taught in
the College of Education that a teacher had to be friendly. I just
took an interest in the victim because I noticed she was not taking
her homework seriously. All this talk of my touching and kissing her,
they are all lies. I admit going to her house but it was because I
wanted to see her guardian."
Executive Director of Spaces for Change, Mrs. Victoria Ibezim-Ohaeri,
said Amaechi came to her with the case on the same day her ward
confided in her.
She said, "We are prepared to seek legal redress in the court should
the school and police fail to investigate this matter and exercise
full disciplinary action against Ebong.
"Our investigation has also shown that there are other students
currently being abused by this same Ebong.
"These acts of misconduct are not only indicative of poor supervision
and negligence on the part of the school authorities, but also amount
to continuing breeches of the victim's fundamental human rights."
As of press time, PUNCH Metro gathered that the police had obtained
statements from the victim's classmates and friends.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ngozi Braide,
when contacted, said, "I will let you know when I have the full
details."

Twitter unveils Google Glass app
Twitter's official app lets you tweet photos and text from Google's wearable tech.
Twitter launched its official app for Google Glass on Thursday. The app lets Google Glass users tweet photos and text, as well as reply to, retweet, or favorite tweets and notifications. When you share a photo using the app, it will automatically put the words, "Just shared a photo #throughglas," in the tweet. If you're one of the elite few who own a pair of Google Glass frames, turn on the Twitter option here.
There was already a third-party app that let users tweet from the wearable tech, but it could only share photos. Twitter was caught testing the a Glass app last month, when a tweet sharing a photo showed the user tweeted using something called "Twitter for Glass." Facebook also launched its app for Glass on Thursday.

Dancer Wade Robson claims Michael Jackson Molested him for years
The popular Australian choreographer and former close friend of the late pop legend claimed last week that Michael Jackson sexually abused him from ages 7 through 14, when he regularly stayed at Neverland Ranch. He has filed a lawsuit against the Estate of Michael Jackson asking for compensation for years of abuse.
Wade appeared on the Today Show today and went into detail about his abuse. Wade told Matt Lauer:
"I've lived in silence and denial for 22 years and I can't spend another moment in that...."

After 21 years of playing football, David Beckham has announced his retirement at the age of 38. The footballer who is worth about $220million, captained 115 games for England, and played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, LA Galaxy, AC Milan and PSG. He's the only English player to win a league title in four different countries. In a statement Beckham said:

Omotola Jalade Ekeinde joins Hollywood stars for fundraiser in LA
Nollywood actress Omotola joined other Hollywood celebrities at the Annual Entertainmen Industry Foundation (EIF)/Revlon Run/Walk for Women at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum at Exposition Park in Los Angeles on Saturday May 11th.
The EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women is one of America's largest fundraising events. Money raised is used for cancer research, treatment, counseling and outreach programs.
