University of Ghana defeated University of Ibadan in a Bilateral Debate competition yesterday. the topic for this world class debate was "Social Media is a veritable platform for Socio-political participation and mobilization in Africa".
The Judge who summarized the result, pointed out that out of 350 marks to earn from each University, University of Ghana won By 5%.

Patience Jonathan returns home after weeklong Medical Treatment Abroad
Sources say she will continue her medical treatment here in Nigeria as she has not fully regained her health.
A presidential jet was scheduled to fly out of Abuja last night to bring home Nigeria's ailing First Lady, Mrs. Patience Jonathan. Presidency sources told SaharaReporters yesterday that Mrs. Jonathan will return to the country this morning if everything works as planned. Mrs. Jonathan was secretly flown out of Abuja nearly six weeks ago, at the end of August, after she developed complications from a cosmetic procedure she had undertaken in Dubai.

Minister of Aviation Stella Oduah paddles canoe in her flooded village
The minister posted the photos on her Facebook page showing the state of her own village in Akili, Anambra State. The flood, which began in September after the Lagdo Dam in Northern Cameroon broke, has displaced over 50, 000 people and killed at least one hundred so far!
President Jonathan made an emergency broadcast this morning where he directed the release of billions of Naira to several flood-raved states in Nigeria. Aliko Dangote and others have also donated to flood victims
