#CODED-ish TechNews:: Facebook Messenger is now a universal iOS app

Facebook Messenger, one of the popular forerunners in the land of messaging apps, has gradually scored more and more novel features over the last few months, as Facebook is trying hard to up the game of its dedicated messaging app in any way possible.

After all, it is facing fierce competition from the likes of Viber, Line, and Skype. One of Facebook's latest efforts to boost the popularity of its Messenger even further is making a universal iOS app. That's right, heretofore the app was only available for the iPhone, but from now on iPad users can snatch the messaging app and chat with their Facebook friends directly from their beloved tablets.

Fortunately, the neat feature that allows you to call your FB friends through Wi-Fi or cellular data is also present. Of course, the full bag of Facebook Messenger features are also on board – you can not only spice up your chat conversations with a wide variety of peculiar or wacky emoji stickers, but also snap photos or even record brief videos directly from the app itself. Chat heads are here, too.

Over the last few months, Facebook acquired WhatsApp for a pretty impressive sum of money, brought Messenger to the Windows Phone platform, and also released the Snapchat-like Slingshot app, which operates on the “tit-for-tat” principle and allows you to send self-destructing photos or videos to your Facebook peers. It seems that Facebook truly wants to be one of the top players in the field of mobile messaging.

Nollywood Director Mac Collins Chidebe to Genevive "Stop blasting Nollywoood"!!

Leading Nollywood director Mac Collins Chidebe has given a less than pleasant response to Genevive Nnaji's earlier comments on reasons she has featured in few Nollywood movies lately. Here's what he had to say

"Genevieve has just insulted the industry that made her who she is today and what effort has she made to help improve Nollywood? Those days in Enugu when Genevieve was growing in Nollywood, our movies were not rubbish; she has grown now, made money, fame, popularity e.t.c, how much has she invested in this Industry that made her?

"All the while she was busy waiting for Titanic scripts, Nollywood was trying their best to keep the flag flying waiting for her to come back and take the industry to the next level. Artistes should stop biting the fingers that fed them. We are watching and waiting for them to bring down heaven. We made them stars; we are waiting for them to come back and take the industry to the next level. Instead of blasting Nollywood, come and improve Nollywood."

 Genevive Nnaji's controversial statement

“I guess I haven’t found the right script yet. Creativity and depth are the qualities that I look out for in a script. In the beginning, the movie industry emphasised quantity but things are changing and there is an improvement in trend. I am among the people who advocate for the improvement of the industry. So said, I am constantly watching out for the kind of stories I take part in. I am in support of movies that show a great deal of professionalism and creativity."

"Having practiced my art in international & professionally produced stories like ‘Ije’; ‘Mirror boy;’ and ‘Tango with me’, I don’t think I can return to the blandness and mediocrity that characterized Nollywood in the past.”

This is getting spicy. Oya Genevive, over to you. No agree ooo.

Tiwa Savage: How I Married Tee Billz.

According to a recent report by City magazine, light has been shed on how one of the most celebrated celebrity couple in Africa met and how they proposed marriage. In a "how I met your father" tale, Tiwa Savage revealed how she and her hubby Tee Billz met and how he popped The Question.

Their first meeting:

"I met Tee Billz in Los Angeles, at Timaya’s concert actually and I was at that time looking for a manager and he didn’t listen to my cd unfortunately. So when I saw him, I was a bit angry , I was like I dropped my songs  a few weeks ago and am the next big thing and you are missing out  and he was like wow calm down ,who are you? And then funny enough the next thing he said was, I am going to marry you."

The proposal:

"We had actually come back from Dubai a few days earlier and spent  a week there. I actually thought he was going to propose to me there. I was hoping he would propose while we were in Dubai, so day 1, day 2 day 3 all the way to the 7th day and nothing happened. I was a bit disappointed and was worried like ”Oh My God, is he ever going to propose?”
But a few days later, on my birthday, he said to me he thinks we should go out with some friends so I was like hell no, I don’t want to go anywhere, I want to be at home, I want to reflect on my life (laughs). So my friend Elohor called me and said every body is waiting for you, just come out so I finally did then it happened.
He went on his knees and I didn’t even wait to hear what he was saying  because every body was screaming so much. I don’t even know if he actually asked me to marry him but I just screamed yes (laughs) I actually want to thank him specially because he has been a blessing to me."

CODED ISH wishes the couple a long and happy marital life.
