#CODED-ish News::Strange But True: Extra Small Condoms For 12-Year-Old Boys Sold In Switzerland
According to the latest Swiss government-funded study:
More 12-14 year-old boys than ever are having sex—and they are doing it without condoms. Man-size "protection" apparently doesn't fit and falls off (a problem shared by nearly 25% of teens, according to a German study).
So, are we surprised that a boy's child-size anatomy, which goes along with his child-size emotions, understanding, and judgment does not fit into daddy's prophylactic?
The Swiss apparently are. The researchers declared themselves "shocked" that "young boys… display apparently risky behaviour. They have more of a tendency not to protect themselves. They do not have a very developed sexual knowledge. They do not understand the consequences of what they are doing....bla bla bla"
So they need condoms? Feel free to share your thought!
#CODED-ish News::''My Doctor Has Warned Me To Stay Away From Unprotected Sex''...Vast Of Bracket
On pictures of him looking very ill went viral, he said:
"When the picture leaked, we were not happy initially. I was very skinny but when I saw the response from the fans, I was shocked. I did not know people liked me that much. Trust me; there was a female fan that said that if I died, she was going to die. I nearly cried and said God, if you save me, I would make these people one of the happiest people on earth. That was why I went to the studio and began singing like I never did before. I took myself back to the days when we sang 'Yori Yori'".
Recounting how it all began:
He said, "It all started when we went on an American tour and I started feeling feverish. I found myself taking my bath with hot water even on a very hot day.
That was when I started noticing something was wrong. I noticed that whenever I drank alcohol, the fever would come in an aggressive way. I eventually went to a hospital in London. The doctor told me not to worry that everything would be fine. He said to start the treatment, they would have to do something that would allow them take something from my spine. It was a very painful procedure."
He said there were times when he felt like he was dying:
"There was a time that I felt I would die. My only fear was that I was not close to God. I was afraid that if I died, I would not make it to heaven. We musicians have a particular lifestyle. You may plan to be upright, but when you go into entertainment business, it would change you. I was regretting that I was not close to God. I did not want to go to hell. I felt so happy that I survived".
Assured that he is healed, he said that at the end of the treatment, he did a blood test and they said he was okay. The singer told Saturday Beats that the treatment cost him about £58,000 (about N14.6 Million). He was supported by some close friends like P-Square, KCee, Flavour and a London-based friend, Ugonna, who offered them both accommodation and about £30,000.
"After the treatment, I did two other tests and the doctors confirmed that I was okay. After three months, I am meant to go for a PET scan. I could remember that before the treatment, we had a meeting and agreed that we had to bring £50,000. After the seventh chemotherapy session, the whole money finished. They had to send more £8,000 into the account I was using. The last time I went to withdraw money, what was left there was £120. So I used about £58,000," the singer said.

#ASUU STRIKE UPDATE:: ASUU Withdraw From Negotiation With Government
The Academic Staff Union of Universities on Thursday announced its disengagement from further negotiations with the Federal Government, over what it describes as the latter’s perceived insincerity in the 2009 agreement as well as the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) both parties signed in January last year.
The union National President, Dr. Nassir Faggae Isa, said at a press briefing held at the University of Lagos on Thursday that the 2009 agreement and the MoU must first be honored, even if ASUU feels the need to consider renegotiation with the government.
The union had embarked on a total strike on July 2 over government‘s failure to honour the 2009 agreement.
Faggae said, “Consequently, our members are left with no other choice than to prosecute this strike to its logical conclusion. ASUU members nationwide are saying this strike will not be suspended until and unless the government respects the 2009 agreement and makes concrete efforts to implement it in the best interest of the country.”
According to him, during a meeting held between ASUU and the government representative on Monday, government declared that it neither had any motive to revitalize public universities through committed funding, nor was it ready to pay in full the accumulated Earned Academic Allowances between 2009 and 2013.

#CODED-ish News:: My Car Disgraced Me At Psquare’s Home – Teju Babyface
The comedian and host of popular Teju Babyface show shared a quick but hilarious story with his fans. He narrated the story thus:
“In the year 2011, when I went to invite Peter and Paul of P-square to invite them to The Teju Babyface Show, they were very nice and quite cool with being on the show. After praising us for doing a good show so far, they escorted me outside.
Their mom (of blessed memory) was standing outside with a few friends and she was very warm to me as well. And so, in the sight of all of them (Peter, Paul, Jude, their dancers, mom and family), I entered my battered Honda Accord and started saying a silent prayer; ‘This car please do not disgrace me in the presence of these boys with all their Range Rovers, X6 and Hummer’.
And then I turned the ignition on. NOTHING! The silly car refused to start! I tried again and again, nothing! I wanted to enter the ground! So it was with a shamed face that I popped the hood and Peter helped me pull up the bonnet.
I grabbed a stone from the ground and knocked the battery head with Paul saying to me ‘do not worry bro, it has happened to all of us’! Thankfully the car started after several bashings to the battery with the stone and I slowly crawled out of their close.”
Now he is one of the richest comedians with the best cars in Nigeria today..

Singer Seyi Shay silently and successfully entered the Nigerian music scene, especially with her singel “Irawo”. The pretty singer made out time to have a one on one chat with Joan Omionawele of The Nigerian Tribune.
Seyi spoke about about her journey to the music industry, her role models and of course her love life.
Read excerpts from the interview
What has been your experience with love?
Love has never been fair to me; love is never going to be fair. It’s even worse as a musician because in the Nigerian tradition, it is not seen as a conventional or respectable thing to be a musician. Everybody expects you to be seen and not heard. But when you are in the public eye like this, it is not easy to find true love.
What’s next for Seyi Shay?
I am currently rebranding. We have decided to bring in two personalities (the Mainland and the Island girl) which will depict two sides of me. I recently won an award for the Best Female Act. I’m focusing on my next singles.
Which artiste do you dream of doing collaboration with?
I have done collaborations with almost everyone of them – Wizkid, 2Face, Timaya, Olamide. I am thinking of doing a song with PSquare and Omawumi. Internationally, I would really love to hear Rihanna on Afro Pop and sing with Tina Turner. That’s my ultimate dream.
#ASUU STRIKE UPDATE:: House Committee On Education Urges ASUU To End Strike
The House of Representatives Committee on Education has pleaded with the Federal Government and Academic Staff Union of Universities, ASUU, to end the prolonged lecturers’ strike, even as it lauded the Vice-Chancellor, Federal University, Otuoke, Prof. Mobolaji Aluko, for his efforts in making the new institution to be on a sound footing.
Speaking, yesterday, in Otuoke, Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, when he led members of the committee to monitor the progress and challenges of the new university, Chairman, Mr. Aminu Suleiman, said that the committee’s on-going tour of the federal universities across the country was part of its oversight functions of tracking funds contained in the budget.
Suleiman lamented the lingering industrial action by ASUU, pleading with the union and the government to quickly resolve their differences, just as he noted that the two committees on education of the National Assembly had earlier facilitated the dialogue between ASUU and government.
He expressed optimism that the strike would soon be called off by ASUU due to the steps the government had taken.
“As an institution, we are doing the best we could do to ensure the resolution of the strike. Government through the facilitation of the National Assembly had a series of meetings with ASUU. When ASUU issued the ultimatum, government was reluctant to meet with them.”
#CAMPUSNEWS:: Johannesburg’s University in global war for very best academic talent

#CAMPUSNEWS:: Benue varsity’s inaugural lecture focuses on students’ empowerment
Penultimate Thursday will remain indelible in the annals of private universities in the country as the University of Mkar, Benue State held its third public lecture. Welcoming participants to the forum, the host vice chancellor, Prof. Hemen Agba said the lecture was to impacting the students and other crop of younger generations with the knowledge that would make them becoming economically relevant now and in future.
On his part, the chairman of the forum and former Director-General, Standard Organisation of Nigeria (SON), Prof. Tseaa Shambe, blamed the falling standard of education chiefly on the teachers, saying many teachers in the country have deviated from the norm and values which the teaching profession was known for in the country. He noted that the vogue nowadays, especially among lecturers in tertiary institutions is for them to make quick money from the sales of hand- outs to students.
He said it was therefore unfair to blame politicians every time for woes in the education sector in the country as some of them also obtain degrees and passed through the tutelage of teachers.
The SON boss, however, said it was possible for one to deceive the whole world but to deceive oneself, is to be heading for doom.

We are very much hopeful that with the encouragement, the children will pay similar attention if not more to their studies in their schools.

#Coded-ish News:: UK Schools prepare for worst ever predicted fall in GCSE grades
Schools are bracing themselves for bad news in this year’s GCSE exams, thanks to a perfect storm of changes – with some attempting to weather it by switching from domestic to international versions of the exams, which some claim are easier.
While top A-level grades this year were marginally down on 2012, the publication of GCSE results on Thursday is expected to see a larger drop caused by a combination of factors, including a revised set of science exams and a rush of students taking subjects a year early.
There are also likely to be charges that schools are gaming the system by having pupils sit the same subjects twice, taking papers from different examination boards.
The result is likely to be a fall in overall GCSE grades compared with last year, when the number of pupils earning the government’s benchmark of five A* to C grades fell to 69.4% from 69.8% in 2011.

The statement said the affected students have been warned to steer clear of the institution, pending police investigation on the matter.
The rector, who lamented the rate of cult activities and other ant-social vices by students of the institution, said the decision was taken as part of measures aimed at ensuring sanity in the school.
He attributed cult activities in the institution to lack of hostel facilities, a situation which according to him exposes the students.
He added that the management of the polytechnic was liaising with the police and other relevant security agencies to rid the area of criminals.
#Coded-ish News:: 662 schools shut in Delta
Briefing journalists on Tuesday at the mid- term report of the Basic and Secondary Education Ministry, the Commissioner, Prof. Patrick Muoboghare said the action was necessitated by the new policy direction of the state government, which he said was geared towards providing qualitative education at the cradle.
According to the commissioner, the affected schools were built below the set standards, and in most cases, they were set up in very unconducive learning environment. He said while some were operating in ramshackle buildings, some shared buildings with churches, hotels, private residences and other business concerns.
Muoboghare also announced that the state government had returned 41 missionary secondary schools to the original owners, saying the government paid N5m each as compensatory take off grant to the respective missions.
“It is worthy of note that the essence of the handing over is to ginger the spirit of healthy competition among school age children in both public and private schools in the state. Government has come to acknowledge that the missions and original owners were better managers of these schools,” the commissioner said
