16 Year Old Cable Vandal Survives Electrocution

A 16-year-old boy, Terseer Iorparegh, was yesterday caught stuck in a high tension cable while attempting to vandalize the PHCN cable along Naka road in Makurdi.Vanguard gathered from the Senior Special Assistant to Governor Gabriel Suswam on Public Utilities, Mr. Gaddafi Asemanya who was at the scene said residents of the area were woken up by shout of help from the young man around 2.am on Thursday only to behold the teenager hanging between the high tension cable after he had suffered shock and first degree burns.

New N197 Billion Pension Fraud Unconvered by Senate Panel

The chairman of the committee, Senator Aloysius Akpan Etok (PDP, Akwa Ibom North-West), disclosed this in Abuja at a public hearing, saying the fraud was perpetrated from 2007 to 2012.

Etok, who said that was why the chairman of the Pension Task Force Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, was summoned, frowned at his (Maina's) absence at the hea-ring which was held on Tuesday.

Photos of the BlackBerry 10 L-Series are nothing short of new.

This HD photo shots are said to have emerged from vietnam. A few images surfaced in November showing a BlackBerry L-Series handset. According to a post by CrackBerry.com, one of its readers has posted images on its site of an evaluation unit of an L-Series BlackBerry 10 smartphone. Zuma Visits Mandela In Hospital

South African President Jacob Zuma on Sunday visited former President Nelson Mandela in hospital.

Zuma expressed satisfaction on the condition of Mandela after the visit, describing it as ``comfortable and in good care.’’

Presidential Spokesperson Mac Maharaj said in a statement that Mandela was admitted to the hospital in Pretoria on Saturday for medical attention.

Maharaj appealed to the media and the public to respect the privacy of Mandela and his family.

Two boys, ages 7 and 11, were accused of trying to rob a woman with a loaded gun, police said Sunday.

The boys tried to carjack a 22-year-old woman who was in her family's truck waiting for her parents in a church parking lot, Portland police said in a statement.

Why did Jacintha Saldanha commit suicide over a prank?

Some things don't make sense to me and this is one of them. She had two teenage kids, a husband and a loving family and still killed herself over a prank?

Jacintha Saldanha (pictured above left) is the 46 year old nurse who killed herself after being duped by a hoaxer pretending to be the Queen. Three days before her death, Mrs Saldanha was manning the hospital switchboard where Kate Middleton was taken to for acute morning sickness when she took a call from two Australian radio presenters – Mel Greig and Michael Christian – (pictured above right) impersonating the Queen and Prince Charles. They were transferred to the Duchess’s ward and broadcast confidential information given to them by a second nurse. Although she wasn’t blamed in any way for what happened, friends said Mrs Saldanha ‘took it very badly’ when prank was broadcast.

She was found dead on Friday morning in the nurses’ accommodation at the hospital. May her soul rest in peace.

Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s Mother Kidnapped

Gunmen Sunday abducted the mother of the Minister of Finance, Prof Okonjo-Iweala in Ogwahi-Uku, Delta State.

Okonjo-Iweala’s mother who is the wife of His Majesty, Professor Chukwuka Aninshi Okonjo Agbogidi, the reigning Obi of Ogwashi-Uku kingdom was kidnapped Sunday at about 1:30 pm from the husband’s palace at Ogbe-Ofu quarters in Ogwahi-Uku by eight gunmen who stormed the palace in two Audi cars.

Nelson Mandela Admitted To Hospital

Former South African president Nelson Mandela was admitted to hospital on Saturday for medical tests, although the government said there was no cause for alarm.

A statement from President Jacob Zuma’s office gave no details of the condition of the 94-year-old anti-apartheid leader. “Former President Mandela will receive medical attention from time to time which is consistent with his age,” the statement said.
