CALLOUS!Cannibal killls female student
On May 2, when Idowu Aliyu decided to embark on a trip from her town, Egayi back to Zamfara where she’s studying in the School of Health Technology, little did she know that will be the last time she would see her family. Apparently, she would have bade them goodbye with smiles on her face but fate lurked in the dark .The day was not only full of evil but she ended up being a victim of the evil.
On every other day that Idowu went to school, she was always dropped at the garage by one of her brothers but on this particular day, the brother was busy and Idowu was in a hurry and couldn’t wait for her brother to return from his busy schedule to drop her at the park as earlier agreed. Even the persuasion of her Uncle who is their custodian to tarry for a while for her brother to come back fell on deaf ears. Idowu was just in hurry.
Saturday Vanguard gathered that the late Idowu got an okada to convey her to the park which was driven by Jimoh Obabu Salau. But unknown to her, Jimoh was an okada man with an ulterior motive.
Saturday Vanguard gathered that midway through the journey, Jimoh Obabu drove into the bush where he took his time to kill her. To achieve his aim, it was gathered Jimoh smashed a stone against the innocent victim and subsequently ensured she breathed her last.
Idowu would have gone to the world unknown without people knowing what killed her but providence presented a farmer who was watching from a close distance where Jimoh had taken the victim for the act. The farmer quickly mobilised people to the place where Jimoh was caught trying to bury the victim. He was apprehended and handed over to the police.
Jimoh confessed being responsible for the death of the 22-year old Idowu but the confession is causing a lot of controversy. Jimoh specialises in using okada to lure victims to the bush where he kills them for meat and sell the remaining part to ritualists.
The police are of the view that Idowu’s death is not only for meat but has a ritual angle to it. Parading the suspect, the state commissioner of Police, Muhammed Katsina said Jimoh Obabu Salau was arrested while trying to bury his victim, Idowu Aliyu, a student of School of Health Technology, Zamfara, aged 22 years.
Kastina revealed that “the suspect was dismissed from the Army while on ECOMOG duties in Liberia after showing cannibalistic behaviour. He was also arrested and sentenced to death in 2003 for killing his wife and two kids; eating their intestine and selling the remaining parts. The suspect was however released from Kaduna prison through the aid of influential, wealthy and highly connected individuals.”
Ever since this revelation , the whole state has been clouded in suspense. While some believe that Jimoh is only looking for ‘meat’, others believe that a popular politician who is seeking election is Jimoh’s sponsor. Those who are alleging political undertones to the murder of Idowu by Jimoh hinged it on the fact that Jimoh had been very close to the politician who is among the top contenders for the SSG office since it was zoned to the area.
Jimoh also appears to be complicating the matter. While not arguing that he is guilty, he is said to be singing a new song. Jimoh, Saturday Vanguard gathered, allegedly claimed the victim was brought to him to kill by two other men from the town rather than the popular assumption that he picked her with his okada. Jimoh has since mentioned more than six names of those who ‘brought’ the lady to him.
Police investigations revealed that the first two persons Jimoh mentioned their names were innocent. When further prompted, Jimoh allegedly mentioned other names which the police discovered were unconnected to the act as well. As at the last count, Jimoh who is now behaving abnormal has implicated eight people as his accomplices in the alleged murder.
Presently, police are in a tight corner over how to unravel the truth behind Idowu’s death. Is it a political or ritual killing or Jimoh’s way of feeding his cannibalistic appetite?
However, the family of late Idowu Aliyu is now calling for justice. They are calling on the federal government and police to ensure that the killer of their daughter did not go unpunished. Head of the family, Mr Aliyu Onuto, who spoke with Saturday Vanguard in his compound in Egayi, Ajaokuta said late Idowu was killed on her way to board a vehicle to Zamfara state where she was schooling.
Mr. Aliyu noted with dismay that although the suspect has been arrested and he has confessed to committing the crime, he is yet to be charged to court for prosecution. “Idowu had dreams but could not live to actualise her dreams due to blood thirsty Jimoh. I understand he killed his wife (a police officer) in 2003 and was let off the hook without punishment. If justice had prevailed that time, this would not have happened. “Today it is Idowu, tomorrow it might be another person. All that we want is for justice to be done,” he said.
Mr. Aliyu, the uncle of the slain victim who revealed that the late Idowu and her siblings lost their parents recently and that he has suffered to take care of her along with her younger siblings wondered why Jimoh could take the life of his innocent niece who was promising and looked as if she would aid the family after graduation.
The state police command is however saying the delay in prosecuting Jimoh Salau is due to the fact that they believed he must have accomplices who buy some of the human parts from him as he could not have been alone in the crime.
The state Police Commissioner, Mohammed Katsina said the cannibal who was dismissed from the Army usually eats the inside of his victims and sells the other parts to ritualists and “so, the command is still investigating to get those buying the human parts from him”.

Happy 39th Wedding Anniversary To Bollywood Legend, Amitabh Bachchan And His Wife, Jaya Bachchan.
Greetings have been exchanged, family has gathered round with wishes…Now its time to reminisce, to go back and relive those moments, to remember all that transpired,” the 69-year-old posted on blog bigb.bigadda.com.
Recalling those past moments, Amitabh says,
‘Zanjeer’ had just released. And Jaya and I and a few dear friends had decided that if the film did well we would all go to London for a holiday. After a few anxious days on the results of the box office, it was time to put our decision ‘in line’.
“So I told my parents, who I had now invited to come and live with me, as is the culture in our land, about our decision. And my Father came down heavily on me – ‘If you are planning a holiday with this girl, you will have to marry her and go, else your decision is denied.’
“I was an obedient child! I got married the very next day in a quickly organized wedding with family and some dear friends, without any fanfare, and left for the holiday that very night,” he further posted. Big B says that his marriage was not a lengthy affair.

Lagos Speaker Testifies: I was to board that fatal flight
The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, Adeyemi Ikuforiji has revealed that he was supposed to board the ill-fated Dana aircraft, which crashed on Sunday.
The Speaker testified on the floor of the House that he was scheduled to take the flight back to Lagos from Abuja where he’d gone to attend a meeting of the Conference of Speakers.
According to him, one of his aides travelled from Lagos to Abuja on that Sunday with the same plane and it was while the plane to Lagos that it crashed just few minutes to landing at the Murtala Mohammed Airport.
“That same aircraft was the one I would have boarded this morning (Monday) because I asked him to book a flight for us to get back to Lagos today (Monday) and he went and bought tickets for Dana flight for me and my aides, including himself.
“But by the time he returned from where he bought the ticket, the aircraft had crashed. But of course even those who sold the tickets didn’t know. I got the news that the Dana aircraft crashed in Lagos,” Ikuforiji said.
The speaker then went on to berate “governments” for being uninterested in protecting the lives and properties of Nigerians. He said, “We have regulatory authorities that are busy regulating what comes to the pockets of those to regulate things that affect our lives.
“If we fail to fix roads on which we can move our cars, the air roads that God gave to us freely with one of the best weather conditions in the world, is also giving us challenges because we do not keep to the rules.
“This aircraft already got to Lagos and the passengers would have heard, ‘fasten your seat belts,’ we are approaching before the incident happened.
“Just think of the last few minutes of those who died simply because somebody refused to do his job. This is just sad!”
The Speaker also lamented the poor rescue efforts of government officials during cases of emergencies and their poor facilities which make them rely on companies like Julius Berger.
“NEMA does not even have small helicopters that could fight fire.
“The Minister of Aviation said there was a mayday call and I asked why they didn’t respond immediately. We allowed them to get roasted just like that.
“You will hear rumour, from the near truth to the ridiculous and I wonder why the people didn’t speak out before the incident if they truly knew all these.
“I keep wondering why we are here, because it is virtually everything that we do wrong and when you do anything right, it appears that is a mistake,” he said.

Photo: Man Paints Himself Green To Be 'INCREDIBLE HULK', discovers paint couldn't remove again.
Pool attendant Paulo Henrique dos Santos, from Vila Cruzeiro, dressed up as the comic book hero for a running event, but got a nasty shock when the time came to remove the green paint.
After frantic scrubbing, the hapless chap realised he'd used a paint reserved for ballistic missiles and nuclear submarines.
According to Brazilian news site Paulo had hoped to buy a brand of paint he'd used on a previous outing as the Hulk, but the shop he went to didn't have it.
Desperate to undo his inking, the would-be superhero spent Sunday and Monday having 'about 20 baths,' and was forced to sleep in a room lined with plastic bags.
He feared the industrial paint could actually give him lead poisoning, though he appears to have had no symptoms.
The 35-year-old, who also works as a DJ in Rio de Janeiro and is known as MC Marronzinho, has achieved overnight celebrity in his local area.
As if being bright green wasn't embarrassing enough, the local press ran pictures of his mother trying to remove the paint - and referred to her as his girlfriend.

Dana Crash: Fashola declares 7 days mourning
Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State has cancelled all government activities for the week to mourn victims of Sunday’s ill-fated Dana Airline plane crash, as he also declared a seven-day mourning.
Similarly, programmes meant to mark the exit of Lagos State Chief Judge, Justice Inumidun Akande, from the judiciary had been shifted for the same reason.
The state judiciary had mapped out events to celebrate the CJ’s 1004 days in office with a briefing with journalists slated for tomorrow, but had to be suspended in honour of the victims of the plane crash. The seven-day mourning in Lagos, it was gathered, was agreed at the state Executive Council meeting.
A senior civil servant, who spoke to Vanguard on the development, said the “sad incident had dampened workers’ morale to work because of its calamitous nature.”
Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Mr. Aderemi Ibirogba, who announced seven-day mourning, said the state had decided to cancel all activities and programmes for the week because of the plane crash, which occurred in its territory.
He expressed sympathy of the state government with families of victims of the crash, assuring that the state government will continue to assist those affected by the crash.
He said: “We, as a government, had cancelled all activities and programmes slated for this week because we are mourning. The incident happened in our state. Also, most of the victims are our residents.”

BREAKING NEWS!!!: Patience Jonathan is not responsible for Dana crash – Presidency
The Presidency has reacted to rumours making round via social media about the possible cause of last Sunday Dana plane crash in Lagos citing VIP movement involving Dame Patience Jonathan, wife of Nigeria’s president.
A Dana MD-83 airplane crashed on Sunday in Lagos, killing the 153 people on board and an unknown number of others on the ground.
The plane according to the rumour being peddled crashed because the airspace was closed for the First Lady’s movement in Lagos.
In a press statement signed by Ayo Osinlu, the Special assistant to the President, office of the First Lady, the presidency said:
“Our attention has been drawn to the orchestrated plan to politicize the Sunday Dana Air crash in Lagos in which many people lost their lives, through rumours about the possible cause of the accident citing VIP movement involving the wife of the President.
“We consider it callous, inhuman and devilish for anyone to have thought of wrapping such national calamity in political garb by insinuating that the plane crashed because the airspace was closed for the First Lady’s movement in Lagos.
“For the avoidance of doubt, the First Lady arrived Lagos at about 2pm on Saturday, 2nd June, 2012 for a private engagement and was billed to leave for Abuja on Monday, 4th June, 2012.
“In compliance with her itinerary, the First Lady arrived Lagos on Saturday. She was at a public event on Sunday when the accident occurred and promptly abandoned the ceremony as a mark of respect for the victims and retired to the State House, Marina. She left Lagos at exactly 13.15hrs on Monday, 4th June, 2012, according to schedule.
“It is therefore surprising that some mischievous persons will see this moment of National mourning as an opportunity to blackmail and impugn the First Lady’s integrity.
“This is the time for all Nigerians to be sober and pray for the repose of the souls of the victims and not a time to subordinate the interests of our nation to narrow self-serving interests,” the statement reads.
The statement said that “Mrs Jonathan had no intention to travel on Sunday and never did. Like all Nigerians, she has been mourning the dead.”

Opeyemi Sodipe Becomes The Youngest Nigerian Girl to Bag a PhD at 25
Miss Sodipe bagged a PhD in Business Information. According to her growing up story, as she narrated, she had a bad academic start. She was a dullard until an incident changed this when she was in JSS3 at King’s International School in Ibadan, Oyo State.
“I cannot describe myself as an average student when I was in primary and junior secondary school. I was a dullard. But this changed when our literature teacher in JSS 3 gave us a test and I failed woefully. The infuriated teacher while distributing our scripts just threw my own at my face and abused me. She called me olodo (an academic non-performer) and I was greatly embarrassed in front of my classmates. I wept till I reached home,” she stated.
On getting home, she told her mother about the ‘insult’ unleashed on her by her teacher. But to her surprised, her mother too scolded her. However, her mum did what a responsible parent should do: “She later encouraged me to buckle up. She said my teacher’s action should be seen as a wake-up call. I took the advice and prayed to God to give me wisdom that night and everything changed when I got to SS1. I always emerged as one of the best in my class till I left the school in 2002,” she said.
Since then, this Ogun State-born lady has not looked back. She gained admission to BU in September 2002 and graduated in 2006 as the best graduating student in her class. Also at the University of Ibadan, while studying for her Master's degree, she emerged the second best graduating student with a score of 69 in 2010. The best graduating student in her class then made 69.9.
Her proud parents - Mr. & Mrs. David and Deborah Sodipe - who accompanied her to the convocation, said that God’s grace, discipline and sacrifice on their part were responsible for their daughter’s feat.

Nigerians Need To Know What Happened?: Who Closed The Airstrip For Two Hours on Sunday June 3, 2012?
"Is there any way of getting confirmation about news I'm just getting that the Dana plane was distressed for a while but could not make an emergency landing because the airspace was closed for 2 hours for the Presidential Jet carrying Dame Patience Goodluck Jonathan."
Private jet owners who had to hover in the air same time leaked this. This was apparently the reason local news didn't report the crash for so long till CNN and foreign news stations started reporting it. Local news was 'blacked out' trying to kill the story of the airspace being closed while a distressed plane couldn't land. It would be shocking if so. Though there was engine failure there was still time for the plane to have landed apparently.
You do know anyway that the airspace is closed for up to 2hours each time the Presidential Jet needs to go into the air? 2 hours for a 15minute take off or landing! And this jet is used by President, VP, President's wife and if I recall David Mark. It's almost a daily occurrence.
The truth remains that the President's wife was actually in Lagos to attend the christening of their personal assistant's child at the Oriental hotel. Lekki. Anyone living on the Lekki axis saw first hand the horrendous traffic caused by the president's wife's visit and confirmed reports from airport staff who volunteered information, collaborated this fact, that the Lagos airport was actually shut for 2 hours, about the same time the ill fated Dana Plane crashed. This also strongly explains the reason why Aero contractor airplane could not depart Abuja for Lagos at 3:40pm because of the closure of the Lagos airport. This is bad and one can only imagine the deep sorrow that the families of these unfortunate Nigerians and other nationals are currently plagued into.
Yes we have to and yes we can; beginning from our immediate homes and While we pray for the repose of the souls of the departed, we need as a nation to thoroughly do some deep communities. with time this will snowball into our National consciousness. For how long are we going to sacrifice the lives of our dear brothers and sisters and by extension mortgage the future of their/our children, just for the comfort of our leaders?
For a 15 minutes ritual of plane take-off, an airport was shut for 2 hours because our "DEAR FIRST LADY" was scheduled to return to Abuja. OH merciful God, help Nigeria in Distress!''

Young Man Dies During Sex Romp With Girlfriend
A young man aged about 30 reportedly died at the weekend in Calabar, the Cross River state capital, southsouth Nigeria, during a sex romp with his girlfriend. The man, whose name was given as Ete Samuel, was a resident of 14, Ekpo Abasi Lane in Calabar South, while his sex partner, Miss Peace Idorenyin is a resident of 16, Target Street, close to the Calabar Zoo.
The two chose the cheap “short time spot” located at Atu Street for early evening sex session before the incident happened. A source who witnessed the incident said he was called at about 5 p.m. by the owner of the short time spot to come and help him as he had a “situation which he alone could not handle. So as a good friend I had to get there fast. “When I got there, I went into the room and saw a young man on the floor with foam coming out of his mouth and I called the police who came and took the corpse to the mortuary and the lady to Atakpa Police Station”. “I did not kill him as many men have slept with me and they did not die and this was not the first time Ete Samuel was doing it with me.”
Accoding to her, she could have “escaped but since I know I am not the cause of his death, I had to wear him his trousers before calling people to help me.” She said she noticed that the man was shaking and she thought the man was about reaching orgasm “but when he did not make any move of coming down from my body after some time I pushed him and saw that he was foaming in his mouth.”

DANA PLANE CRASH UPDATE: We were forced to fly the faulty plane- Dana Air official
An official of Dana Airlines who does not want to be named has just confirmed to Channels Television that the ill-fated Dana Air flight 0992, MC Donnell Douglas (MD 83) was faulty shortly after it left Lagos and stopped over in Calabar.
She alleged that the Indian owners of the airline threw caution to the wind and insisted that the plane must fly in a bid to maximise profit, thereby sending the plane over to Abuja to pick passengers, when it should have being returned to Lagos for further repair.
She also claimed the flight has had persistent history of faults with its hydraulics in recent times and it was not supposed to have flown.
Dana Air Flight 0992 crashed into a two-storey building in Iju-Ishaga, a densely populated area in Lagos state, 4 nautical miles from reaching the runway of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, killing all 153 passengers on board. Residents of the building were also killed in the crash and explosion.

...And Jonathan Wept!
President Goodluck Jonathan on Monday shed tears during his visit to the site where a Dana plane crashed on Sunday evening, killing everyone on board in Lagos.
The president promised a thorough investigation into the incidence that led to the crash.

“We have been working very hard to improve aviation in this country,” Mr Jonathan said.
“This particular incident is a major setback for us … I will make sure that this will not repeat itself in the country.”
More than 153 people were killed when the domestic passenger plane travelling from Abuja, crashed into a heavily populated area, Iju Agege, Lagos around 3:45pm on Sunday.
The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) said that 70 bodies have been recovered from the crash site so far and that at least two people were killed on the ground while several others are receiving treatment for burns.
According to the Nigerian Red Cross, a search and recovery operation was still underway.
The operation was initially hampered by the presence of a large crowd at the site. Some onlookers climbed onto the wreckage of the McDonnell Douglas 83 plane and were dispersed by riot police who fired tear gas, the Nigerian Red Cross said.
Many of the bodies were charred beyond recognition. Relatives of the victims flocked to an information centre set up by Dana Airlines, which has been operating in Nigeria for four years.
Government officials said earlier they did not expect to find any passengers alive. “We don’t believe there are survivors,” the Director General, Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Harold Demuren said.
Four flight attendants and a captain, co-pilot and flight engineer were among those killed when the plane came down. According to the airline’s Abuja manager, “the pilot, co-pilot and flight engineers (were) all foreigners.”

Big Brother Africa Disqualifies DKB and Zainab From Star Game!!
For the second time in a row, a scuffle has broken out between the Big Brother housemates DKB and Zainab.
It all started when DKB allegedly accused Zainab of peeping at him while he was getting ready to shower, at first Zainab thought it was a joke and so did other housemates.
In a temper he warned her to “never do it again, next time I will slap you.”

Other housemates tried to calm down the situation and also separate them. Eventually Big Brother summoned DKB to the Diary Room.
DKB seems to have broken Big Brother rules, housemates are not allowed to get physical with fellow contestants.
Big Brother decided to disqualify the controversial housemates following a decision that took some considerable time to be reached at.

9ice ft Ruggedman – Remembrance (Prod by ID Cabasa)
Before the controversy, before the beef tracks, before the leaked phone call, there were two good friends who made good music together; Ruggedman and 9ice. We all know the story, so I’ll spare you the details. “Remembrance” is an unreleased song they recorded a few years back but it was never put out till some hours ago.
The lyrics are deep, thoughtful, and overall, it shows us how quickly things can change. Today, alive. Tomorrow, dead. Today, friends. Tomorrow, enemies. May God help us all. Listen and share your thoughts.

Gay, Illuminati story meant to ruin me - Charlie Boy •Set to seek legal redress
AFTER the expiry of the seven day notice Charly Boy gave two media houses over publications that he was gay, and that he was quoted as saying he was the head of popular cult group, Illuminati, Charly Boy has threatened a legal battle with the two publishing houses that ran the story penultimate weekend.
In a press release regarding the rumor, which he claims has now gone viral on over 100,000 websites and blogs in one week, CB said in all his years as a public commentator, human rights activist and entertainer, he has never had to deal with such "an insidious report that appears to be directly calculated to portray me in the worst possible light at a time such as this.”

The former PMAN president assured Nigerians that he is not gay and that he didn't belong to the ‘Illuminati’ group in any way shape or form.
The Area Fada is particularly grieved that having given an opportunity to the two daily papers to publicly retract this story and apologize for their error, "these newspapers have continued to ignore my plight and distress with their false reporting.
"Rather than showing genuine remorse in order to convince me that the error was unintentional, they have failed, refused and neglected to retract the story or apologise for same. Even as at the time of this release, these damaging stories are still very much visible on the online pages of these newspapers," he stated.
Ever since these stories broke, the general public, who believed these false stories because it was coming from reputable organizations, have also vilified me in hundreds of thousands of posts and comments on different social networking forums. I have essentially become an object of ridicule worldwide as a result of these lies, he added.
CB has therefore instructed his legal adviser, Ope Banwo, to begin action against the two outfits.
